Purchased a Joie car seat

Purchased a Joie car seat, but. It wasn’t compatible with my old push chair so decided to return after 7 days. The guy refused to take it back saying it smelled curry powder and can’t re-sell it. I understand that I left the car seat in the kitchen but surely, this can be discussed in a more polite way. Appalling customer service. Same service is provided by The Currys so this is my last purchase from Argos. They are out of stock most of the time anyways. Zero value given to the customer. Doesn’t even deserve 1 star.

Never order online

According to their website, you will get the delivery next day if you ordered before 2pm. Since we were planning to move the house I ordered moving boxes sets on Thursday. I didn't get it next day so we were unable to pack. I rang the customer service on Monday and was told that she could see it's in the warehouse so it'd be delivered possibly Tuesday. I told her that I wanted to cancel the order as it's late. She said she had to check the status with the warehouse and send me the details straight away by email. I didn't get the email next day and my order did not arrive next day either. I rang the customer service on Tuesday and was told pretty much the same thing so I told her to cancel the order. I was told that the order was cancelled and it'd take 7DAYS to get the refund and I was still waiting for the cashback. Then all of sudden I got the delivery today (Sunday)!!! I told the delivery guy that I cancelled the order but he said he didn't even know where the parcel came from. I told him it's from Argos. Then he told me to arrange the collection with Argos. I don't need the boxes at this stage as it's too late. At this rate, I doubt Argos would arrange the collection and give me refund. I'd be waiting for months this to be sorted as their customer service is useless.

Don’t trust this website

I bought an item for delivery and following the tracking number; it says it was delivered. I’ve reached customer service to check and they say the box was left beside my letterbox. I haven’t gotten a call or a doorbell ring. The item simply isn’t beside my letterbox.

The company is refusing to solve my problem. No refund or item properly delivered.

This company is like a scam. This is why they are shutting down all their stores.

Black Friday joke

I did a reservation for one item with black Friday discount. The item didn't arrived on the right time and I've lost the discount. Customer service is useless. They are just a joke.

They must have lots of shelving untouched by goods.

Why do these people bother?
I assume the store is a front to an empty warehouse.

I did wonder as I called into their Tralee branch for a couple of items and to my surprise, both times I was the only person in the place.

Anyway don't bother visiting, they have nothing in stock that I wanted and I get the impression that this is the case for most products as even the stuff that is at the higher end of the price range is classed as out of stock too.
I wondered why they don't do paper catalogues any more and I guess that the simple reason is they have no samples to even photograph for the catalogue.

This looks to me like a company that's on its way out.

No after sale service - you’re on your own

If you want to buy something but don’t intend to bring it back because it’s faulty then go ahead. Otherwise avoid. Last three products purchased: Philishave: had to deal with Philips myself. Dehumidifier: they really dragged their heels in diagnosing the issue and grudgingly replaced it. Apple AirPods: have you go to Select Apple retailer and they don’t do anything for you. What’s the point in selling stuff if you don’t provide service? It was once a great store. You could return anything even if it wasn’t broken (which isn’t right either of course) but I won’t be buying anything there again. No wonder the high street is screwed, at least Amazon have good service

Most Useless Retailer UK

It probably costs MORE money to run the Argos website than the total sum of available stock nationwide. Argos gives the impression of abundance but the reality is scarcity. They have NOTHING to sell in any branch or retail concession; unless you're prepared to travel from London to collect the one item in stock, up somewhere in the Outer Hebrides (for example). If you're lucky enough to find what you need locally, you'll find it's a returned item with parts missing. This retailer has on been on it's knees a long time. Time to put it out of its misery.

The most unprofessional people…

The most unprofessional people (blanchardstown) ever.
They don't accept returns even if it's broken, faulty or you don't like it.
And nobody is telling you this when you buy something.
Unprofessional and rude.

Order & Money processed Out of Stock

Order & Money processed, but item out of stock!
Argos are able to check the stock of all their stores but not able to check during an online "delivery" order.
Happy to take your money and not give it back for 5-7 working days however. How about I place an order and not pay for it "for 5-7 working days"
Never again...

Nothing is Ever Available for Delivery.

I'm not really sure what Argos' business model is supposed to be now, because they seem to be closing down a great many branches while simultaneously refusing to deliver the overwhelming majority of the products listed on their website.
Over the last three months I haven't found a single item they were willing to deliver to my postcode.
Are they still trading, or have they gone bust and forgotten to close their website?
Either way, Argos is a complete waste of time now, an online retailer that steadfastly refuses to ship any products to customers is never going to be a successful business model.

Argos is an absolute JOKE…

The only thing I can say about Argos is “it’s an absolute joke” They literally never have anything in stock. You can not even buy a casserole dish or a pack of knives from our local Argos store. You have to end up ordering them from the counter to be delivered into store within the week. Why don’t we just cut out the middle man (Argos) and order your self online to your home address. There really is no point in them being there. *rant over*

Paudie is a diamond

I just want to highlight our FIRST experience with Argos and because that experience was so amazing, I decided to take the time to give this feedback. We had a very bad start to the day last Thursday, 25th August. We had booked a camping trip to discover most tents had been sold out. In comes Paudie from Argos in Tralee. I just cannot thank this person enough. Paudie took the time to help us to navigate the website and to identify products which may suit or not suit us. I think it was Paudie's lovely easy going manner though which has stayed with me since we met him. I sincerely hope Argos know what a wonderful member of staff they have in him. Thank you so much for your help Paudie, it was so appreciated. So you again very soon.

will never buy here again

I put 6 items in my cart and after the payment was completed, 5 of them were removed due to them being 'out of stock'. I checked the stock beforehand, they were available for online delivery, and at no point up to payment did it state that they were out of stock. I had no option to cancel the order due to these items being unavailable. I brought it to the attention of customer service who were woefully unhelpful and didn't try to solve the issue at all. I got an email receipt for the amount of the one item but it was in pounds (cost €119, receipt for £119), and they took the full amount of money (€196) for all items from my account. This was rectified a few days later with no notice or acknowledgement.

This isn't even the first time this has happened on argos.ie. in addition, the items were shown to have a 2-9 day delivery time. i was sent a message a few days after my order to say it would be 26 days.

Shoddy website, crap customer service and something going on with the orders.
