Thanks for making us wiser

Yeah, so, it was a Christmas sale and they charged $46.98 for a what was supposed to be the “World’s Smallest Smart Camera.” After it arrived, I looked up the camera they gave me, and it was an Apache Tomcat Mini Cam MD80 with an online price of $12.99.

So, they did get their money and I got more or less a toy. At least it still works as an emergency webcam if I need it.

Always double check the those Facebook ads before you get the “oh, that’s a nice gift, I think I’ll buy it” vibes. Guys like these aren’t above downscaling expensive equipment to be able to pull a fast one on honest folks.

Here’s the silver lining, though; things like this make a person wiser and more scrutinizing. I won’t say you shouldn’t trust all of the ads (after all, I did score a pair of sweet sunglasses from Origi), but if you’re like me and like buying things for fun, always ensure you’re dealing with a legitimate shopping site.

Oh, and if you want to know the actual product they were advertising, it’s the Insta 360 GO Stabilized Camera. It runs for a hot $199.95 and is smaller than a thumb drive. I could have told you that it’s a pretty amazing product, if these guys were a legit crew and actually gave me the camera.

Eh, figured these guys would actually be able to afford for themselves now that they’ve had a few customers like myself. So, from me to the guys turning the gears at Arriba: Spend your cash wisely, I figure you’d probably need it to survive our little world class epidemic.

Peace out, gang.

Placed an order 11/17/19 for world's slimmest projector for my android phone. Email sent 11/18/19 on the way. Tracking never came up with no shipping info. Emailed them twice in ref to my order. No response. Believed to be a scam.$46.98 is what I paid. Beware of items purchased in China.

Cheap plastic toy camera was not what I ordered.

I had had the same experience as the gentleman who ordered a projector for his phone and was sent a cheap plastic camera. I tried to contact Arriba with no luck. I went to Paypal and raised a concern asking for a refund. I was told I needed to send the item back and provide tracking information. I did this at a cost to my self if $21.00 Australian. paypal have now said a refund is coming my way but I am still out of pocket!
Clearly this company send out cheap items and then either don’t deal with the customer and keep all their money OR offer partial refunds based on keeping the wrong item OR rely on the fact that most people don’t want to be even more out of pocket when they realise the postage is theirs to pay.
Avoid this company/scam at all costs!

Scam Site Reported To Action Fraud

This scam site has been reported to Action Fraud under crime reference NFRC191103353155.

This is a scam site which has been advertising on Facebook along with other similar online stores including arriba.store, derbuy.myshopify.com + powerls.vip. When you run through WHOIS, they are being created by the same people/companies:

Liu Yan Fang
Na Yuan

They are cloning genuine product photos and reviews (in my case Sega Homestar), delaying shipping so that they can take as much money as possible and then sending out a completely different product.

As I have paid through PayPal, I thought I would be able to claim my money back - but PayPal have advised I will only get a refund if I return the goods. The return address given to me was written in Chinese, apart from the province and area code. When I ran the Chinese part of the address through an online translator - it is for a completely different company name, so this is also a scam.

The store is linked to a fake company called Applepods Ltd. PayPal email address ending qq.com, but there could be others so be on the look out. I can't post the full email address as TrustPilot won't allow it - but you can go to Signal Arnaques site which flags scam sites which will give you the details.

If you have paid for a product from this store by credit card - call them immediately to report the fraud. If you are based in the UK flag to Action Fraud to get a crime reference.

If you have paid by PayPal - raise as fraud and advise it has been raised to the police and demand a full refund. If they refuse, email them to advise that in addition to the police being involved, let them know that complaint has been sent to Department of Consumer Affairs California (I reported the scam to them as well for PayPal not taking any action to prevent other people from being scammed)

Email address for DCA can be found online - TrustPilot won't allow me to post in this review.

Would have been zero.

Would have been zero.
Sent wrong item. I ordered a projector for my phone but received a cheap child's camera. Selling offered money offer after paypal dispute but i refused. Escalated through paypal and had to send item back. Realized after posting with royal mail that it had to be recorded post but i still took photos of receipt and parcel. PayPal refused my dispute even with uploaded photos of parcel. So not only did arriba get my original money but i also paid £6 for posting it back to them!!
