Service was above and beyond

I used Articus for 2 transactions - first was a hotel in Brighton then a flat in London; they were great - in fact amazing! Getting a mortgage for the flat in London was not without its trials; Harry the broker I worked with was so helpful; he really went above and beyond to help.... There were so many little issues that cropped up on the way from the application to approval and Harry was always quick, professional and even worked outside of office hours to help me get over the line.... I highly recommend Articus Finance to anyone looking for a good mortgage broker.

Waste of time

With all due respect, but this company is a waste of time. They do not follow up. Bad communication.

claimed overseas mortgage experts...

claimed experts in overseas mortgages for UK properties. Process is long and somewhat overpriced whilst competitive in an exploitative (specalist) part of the mortgage scene in the UK. Generally the expertise came late and we found ourselves sending over various duplicated paperwork / slightly different paperwork as the requirements constantly changed - of note translations that weren't meeting ISO standards, and some other documents that because the process took so long they needed the "new one" etc. It took around 6 months to remortgage on an existing property and the we overspent in the project by 500 pounds due to mistakes on the part of articus. When I approached them about this, they accepted no wrong doing and pushed the blame to the lender / me....not exactly what you expect when laying out several thousand pounds. The guy that dealt with us directly was polite and professional and this reflects 2 stars, just, made some small mistakes (that led to costs and work going to notaries again etc) and the company didn't want to own it. at one stage the boss implied I was trying to get "something for nothing" just because I tried to recover lost costs from their errors, and was a bit unhappy my at the time heavily pregnant partner had to keep going to notaries etc. IThe overseas mortgage market in the UK is a bit of a mess, and I hope by the time we come around for one again the market has become a bit more normalised and Articus have either modernised along with it, or been played out the game by a better, more customer centric competitor.
