Unfair Complaint Handling – Ignored Clear Self-Exclusion Evidence

I submitted a complaint against CrownPlay Casino through AskGamblers after the casino ignored my self-exclusion request sent on 31 January 2025.

In my email, I wrote clearly:

“Please self exclude me from your casino. I am spending so much money. I do not want to continue this way.”

Despite this, CrownPlay left my account open until 8 February. Between 3–8 February 2025, I was able to deposit NZD $7,845. During this time, the casino even offered me more bonuses, including a $1,000 VIP bonus, instead of enforcing my exclusion.

I reminded them again on 5 Feb and 8 Feb that my self-exclusion request had been ignored and asked for my deposits to be refunded.

Most importantly, CrownPlay’s own website states that self-exclusion requests are processed within 24 hours (I have attached a screenshot). They failed to meet even their own standard.

Yet AskGamblers ruled that CrownPlay “acted in accordance with their Terms and Conditions.” This ruling completely ignored my timestamped evidence, my repeated follow-ups, and the casino’s own Responsible Gambling policy.

If you expect fair treatment and genuine player protection, be very cautious — my experience shows AskGamblers may not act impartially when casinos are clearly at fault.

This decision is unfair because responsible gambling obligations override T&Cs. Self-exclusion requests must be enforced within 24 hours — not 8 days later after allowing me to deposit NZD $7,845.

AskGamblers completely ignored this evidence and sided with the casino, which raises serious questions about their fairness and impartiality.

If you’re a player expecting real protection and unbiased mediation, be cautious. My experience shows AskGamblers may not always prioritize player protection, even in clear cases of a casino breaching responsible gambling duties.
