Doesn't work
As reported by others, the link which is allegedly free to check if a car is insured doesn't work. I'd guess the one which charges £10 does work.

Broken, does not work, useless. The free search wasn't working claiming "you've reached the limit" when I haven't used the service in a few months, so I did the paid search (and what a rip-off it is) and it said there was still a technical fault.
Absolute scam, avoid.

DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY
FIX IT! Or shut it down!!!
This website is a SCAM. My elderly father received a letter claiming to be from the MIB (Motor Insurance Bureau) about his old car being uninsured. But an easy search on the DVLA website says the car is Insured. AskMid were wanting £10 to check this. Luckily caught on to the scam before my father went further.
The site has been reported to UK cybercrime squad, the websites hosting company, and domain registrar. Hopefully it will be taken down.
