Strange business practices, I got scammed by Anette!

I originally ordered a dress from the 250 Collection, and I was fully prepared to wait for it. It cost £250GBP, so not cheap. AWAN reached out to me proactively, explaining production delays and encouraging me to switch to the 200 Collection instead. I was told it was the same design, that the difference was only the fabric weight, and that I would receive a refund for the price difference. It was presented as a much better option, and I felt somewhat pressured into switching.

Unfortunately, I now regret agreeing to the change. The lighter fabric is not flattering on me at all, and I won’t wear the dress. Had I understood how different the fabric and drape truly were, I would have waited for the original item.

To make matters worse, I still haven’t received the refund I was promised and I haven’t heard back from Anette who introduces itself as the founder since asking about returning the dress. The lack of follow-up has been really disappointing, especially after being persuaded to switch collections. I have had dealings with Anette during COVID when I informed AWAN I received an order twice. She asked me to pay her back for the mistake the company made and sent me her bank account information. I asked she charge my credit card for the mistake but she insisted I wire money to Scandinavia instead. I wasn't prepared to pay wires fees and stand in line at the bank during COVID, the option was not convenient to me. I informed her but never heard back. I don't know why I ever ordered again from them. I guess I was feeling guilty about receiving an item twice (which I had no use for, why send me an order twice!). All in all they don't do business the way we know it in North America. Anette is not an honest business person.

For the price point I expected more. And she lied about the refund, I feel I got scammed. I wish I could post a photo of the garment, it's a ridiculous piece of fabric.
