The app seems great potential but...

The app seems great potential but very poor managed. First your engineers should be able to identify before starting the job if that request is doable via Atom platform. If not inform the user in advance without spending credits. Engineer must be programed to understand when theh do repetitive jobs and offer different results - this is mind blowing. Engineer can't forget what was done earlier jn the project and change things they way they like. Engineers learn to apologies for their mistakes but they don't repair it actually- need at least 3 or 4 more times to reform the work to get what u want - that's stealing credits- mind blowing . Engineer must be programed to perform an automated audit with out charging the user kn their own work. Work is not completed can not be published. Despite I asked audit from my side and report it done - unfortunately was a lie. So your Engineers either they don't know how to audit their work or they are teach it how to lie. We want to work and move ahead wirh next project but the team support is usually driven by carelessness and poor attitude. Some are trying hard but is clear system is not designed to give support - is designed to make money by any mean. That's cheap and mean. Every user with more than 3 projects at the time need a personalized human support. That's means care and user can expand and spend more - but yoh are losing money and reputation instead. Resolution for a problem take too long time - exactly because you are missing all I mentioned above.

great but...

great idea and company the only thing that bothers me with it is credits and plans can't seem to be able to just add more credits , it requires changing plan to have more credits and if you forgot to change plan before Next billing you will be stuck on the new plan till it changes back to free plan ! then go back to your original plan and if you connected atoms to your domain you will be using atoms ssl so make sure to remind them to renew it 🥲

Hidden costs, drained credits, and refused refunds.

I used Atoms.dev on the free plan to redesign our website, and it seemed fine at first. But the moment you pay, it becomes a total trap.I upgraded to the $20 monthly plan, and my credits vanished after only a few basic prompts. The system immediately asked me to upgrade the plan and demanded another $50 per month to keep going. They use parallel AI agents behind the scenes, meaning a single adjustment drains your paid credits instantly. It is impossibly expensive to actually finish a website here. When I realised how unsustainable this pricing model is, I contacted customer support to explain the issue and request a refund. They flat-out refused. They are happy to take your money, lock your progress behind an immediate paywall, and offer zero consumer protection when their system burns through your balance in minutes. Avoid this platform unless you want to be forced into a $50+, $100+ monthly subscription just to edit your own site.

Hi Mehdi,

We’re sorry for the frustration caused by the credit usage and the cost of continuing your project.

We reviewed your account and project activity and confirmed that the credits were not consumed by the final theme change alone. Most of the usage came from the earlier build and theme iterations across multiple project versions, and by the time the final theme action was attempted, the available credit quota had already been exhausted.

To help you get more from your available credits, you can use Remix from a stable version and continue in a new conversation when a project has accumulated many versions. For future changes, breaking complex requests into smaller steps and using Design mode for precise edits can also reduce unnecessary retries and repeated context.

We’ve sent you the detailed breakdown and next steps through our support conversation. Please check our latest message, and if anything remains unclear, reply there so we can continue helping.

We appreciate your patience while we worked through this with you.

One star only because zero stars isn’t an option.

I raised a technical issue several weeks ago and was told that it was being urgently investigated. Despite repeated follow-ups, I received no proper resolution or meaningful response.

I also made it clear that I wanted to cancel, yet I was charged another €20 today for a service I am not using and was unable to use properly because of repeated technical problems.

So far, I have paid around €60 for a service that did not work as expected, while customer support has failed to resolve the issue or process the cancellation properly.

The lack of communication, continued billing and overall handling of this complaint have been extremely disappointing. I am now requesting a full refund and immediate confirmation that the subscription has been cancelled.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company.

So disappointed- I feel scammed

Wow! I wish I had read these reviews before I sunk $700 and countless hours into updating my website. Like everyone else, I was duped. It started out well, but then I was forced to continuously upgrade to get the credits I needed to finish the project. Meanwhile, my website remains unfunctional and once again I am out of credits to fix it. Customer service does not respond until the next day or later. There is not a real person that you can speak to clear things up. Not only does my website not function properly, but when One navigates to it they get an error message! This has been so frustrating and disappointing. I actually think I meant to sign up for a different company but the link I was given mistakenly found atoms instead. Bait and switch / Deceptive advertising

I searched for Webflow on Google and this company used a deceptive Google Ads strategy to make their link look like my intended search. I signed up by mistake due to this parasitic competition tactic. As soon as I realized the error (within hours), I contacted support to request a refund, but they refused because I had already used some (13) credits. This is completely abusive and misleading to consumers. Do not trust them.

Scammer, they do not refund you.

I've accidentally subscribed to the annual payment (I would need monthly).
Then I follow all the steps for requesting a refund. Send email, open a ticket, try to talk with the chatbot (in the same way, terrible, looks like the chatbots from 2000 and not one that really uses an IA).

It's been more than 1 month and no response from the support team about the refund.

They clearly state that you can request a refund if some rules are followed. I followed all the rules, but nothing so far.

Seems like a scam, grab your money and go away.

DONT BOTHER USING THIS PRODUCT- A REAL HUMAN

Absolutely brutal experience.

Spent $100 on this platform expecting a functional AI-generated app and instead got a completely broken codebase filled with duplicate directories, junk log files, corrupted version edits, and non-working core systems. The Stripe integration literally failed with “No API key provided,” meaning the app’s monetization system was dead on arrival.

The generated project looked less like production-ready software and more like an AI trapped in a recursive loop editing random files until everything collapsed. Massive multi-thousand-line “god files,” inline styling everywhere, missing .gitignore, duplicated apps inside the repo — total technical disaster.

What made it worse was support refusing a refund even after being shown detailed technical proof the output was fundamentally defective and unusable. Their response basically boiled down to: “AI isn’t perfect.”

There’s a huge difference between imperfect and completely non-functional.

If you’re a developer expecting usable infrastructure or production-grade output, be careful before spending money here.

Hey,

I apologize for the unclear account cancellation guidance that led to this misunderstanding and frustrating experience. I want to properly clarify how the process actually works.

When you submit an account cancellation request through the “Contact” section in the bottom-right corner of the page, the automated bot will send you an email containing a link to our Help Center.

After entering the Help Center, you’ll find a guide explaining “How to Delete Your Account.” More specifically, you must then confirm your account deletion request a second time through the automatically created support ticket, including verification details such as the account name intended for deletion.

Only after that secondary confirmation is completed will the account deletion process be automatically handled by the system.

I sincerely apologize again for the confusion this caused. If possible, we’d truly appreciate the opportunity to continue communicating with you through our Help Center on the website.

Thank you for taking the time to read our response and for your patience throughout the process.

Hi,

First of all, we sincerely apologize for the confusion and frustration this situation has caused.

I understand that you have concerns regarding credit consumption and billing behavior. In fact, after each conversation within the chat, you can view the credit usage for that round through the expanded details/options panel. I believe this can help explain where the credit consumption is coming from.

Regarding your point that editing and modifying projects often requires additional credits, we strongly recommend using more structured and clearly targeted prompts so the agent can better understand your project and intentions. We also highly recommend using the Design feature for more precise and controlled modifications.

At the same time, we would encourage approaching AI tools with a balanced and critical perspective. Like all AI development systems, output quality can be heavily influenced by prompt clarity, project complexity, and workflow structure.

If you’re willing to continue exploring the platform, you’re always welcome to contact our support team or visit the Help Center for optimization and credit-saving best practices.

Response received.

Credit where it is due. After my initial response from Atoms following the loss of all my credits, Atoms have investigated the matter and plan to return my credits so I can finish my project. Thank you, Atoms.

My initial feedback was this: I have been working on a project and lost all my remaining credits, and my subscription was downgraded to the free plan, throwing all my work in the bin. When I queried the loss of 160 credits, it took them over an hour to respond initially. Then, when I got through to a human, all they could say was that it was unfortunate, and that's how their credit system works.

So the important thing is this: Atoms as a tool is not bad; it can be a bit clunky, but broadly speaking, as a development tool, it's been a good experience working with it. But I would strongly recommend finding a fairer system. One that doesn't penalise developers who are spending their hard-earned money on an application to support their livelihoods. Atoms has worked hard to develop a payment system that doesn't support the customer. Or, at the very least, failed to consider the customer when designing their offering.

If I were just losing a bit of money, that would be one thing, but all the work I've put into an application I cannot use? That's the part that hurts the most. Well done, Atoms, you've designed something that could have been great, until someone decided that it should include punitive measures against the very people you should be taking care of: the customer.

A founder building a serious product does not work in perfectly even monthly cycles.

Some months, I prototype heavily, burn credits rapidly. Other months, I refine workflows, think strategically, and barely touch generation. So rollover matters enormously.

Hi,

After reviewing our previous communication and carefully checking the timeline, I believe our earlier wording may have caused some misunderstanding.

At that time, we thought the issue you reported was a simple credit expiration case. After further review, we found that what actually happened was different: you first downgraded to Free, then upgraded to a paid plan. The paid plan took effect first, but the current billing cycle itself was not extended. This is an area in our billing logic that we recognize still needs improvement, and we’re already working on optimizing it.

After that, the previously scheduled downgrade still took effect as expected, which caused your credits to be lost.

We have already followed up with you and refunded the amount corresponding to the lost credits. As an additional apology, and to thank you for helping us identify this issue, we’ve also arranged an extra $50 credit compensation for your account.

This issue is not directly related to the normal credit rollover logic.

Regarding credit rollover, the current rule is that annual plan users can roll over unused credits for one month, regardless of the top-up amount.

I’m very sorry for the confusion and inconvenience this caused, and I truly appreciate you helping us identify this issue. We’ll continue improving this process, and I sincerely welcome your continued feedback and supervision.

Good for Testing Ideas but Needs Work

I tried Atoms.dev to buid a quick project and it was easy to get started. The interface is simple and helpful, especially if you don't have much coding experience. It's good for testing ideas fast.

But I faced some issues with credits being used too qickly, and a few bugs during use. It can be a bit trustrating at times.

Overall, it's a useful tool for basic work, but still needs improvement to be more reliable.

Hi,

I don’t know where your evaluation is coming from, because it is obvious that you have never truly used Atoms, as you are unable to provide any concrete issues or examples.

Regarding your claim that credits were consumed unfairly, from what I know this is how all generative AI tools work. The quality of the generated results is also highly related to the quality of the prompts you provide. Especially when prompts are structured and clear, the agent can better understand what exactly should be modified and locate the correct targets. If the prompts are vague, then the agent’s interpretation and execution may also become vague.

To further reduce hallucinations from large models, we even provide features such as Design Mode, Remix, and version restore workflows to help users better isolate and locate issues.

With these workflows, combined with proper prompt engineering, users who have a basic understanding of AI tools are generally able to build fairly complex full-stack projects on Atoms with only a few hundred dollars in usage costs, which is significantly lower than traditional human development costs for similar projects.

So if you actually encountered issues during usage, we expect you to contact us with more concrete details and examples so we can investigate and help resolve them properly. Otherwise, I will report your review to the platform as misleading feedback based on an experience that does not appear to reflect actual product usage.

That said, I am still sorry that you did not have a good experience.
