My thoughts on the Atomstack Kraft

I’ve used several laser engravers and cutters over the years, but the AtomStack Kraft Dual Laser Cutter is easily one of the most versatile machines I’ve worked with. It combines powerful cutting, precise engraving, and excellent expandability in a single professional-grade tool.

One of its standout features is the dual-laser system, which includes a 20W blue diode laser and a 1.2W infrared (IR) laser. This allows the Kraft to handle a huge range of materials without swapping modules. The blue diode laser is excellent for cutting and engraving materials like wood, leather, acrylic, bamboo, paper, fabrics, and more. The infrared laser is ideal for engraving metals such as stainless steel, gold, silver, brass, and aluminum with impressive precision. You can even use both lasers together for deeper cuts and sharper engraving, which increases efficiency compared to single-laser machines.

The machine handles a wide variety of materials including wood, plywood, MDF, bamboo, leather, denim, acrylic, plastics, paper, cardboard, fabric, felt, stone, slate, coated metals, and stainless steel. With the power of the diode laser, it can cut wood up to around 10 mm thick and acrylic in a single pass depending on the material. For crafts, prototyping, and small-scale manufacturing, this versatility is extremely valuable.

The 50 × 32 cm working area provides plenty of room for larger projects or batch production. The included honeycomb bed improves airflow under materials, helping reduce burn marks and producing cleaner cuts, which is especially noticeable with thin wood, paper, or fabrics.

The machine can also be expanded with accessories. The AtomStack R7 Pro Conveyor Feeder can extend the work area to roughly 80 × 50 cm, allowing processing of long materials or continuous sheets. While I haven’t personally used it yet, my girlfriend has found it very useful for cutting fabric patterns, working with long boards, making signs, and producing repeated parts.

Engraving quality is excellent thanks to the small laser spot size and precise motion system, allowing detailed graphics, text, and patterns on many materials. With the AtomStack R8 Rotary Chuck, the machine can engrave cylindrical or irregular objects like tumblers, bottles, rings, and other curved items. Combined with the dual-laser setup, this allows engraving on wood, acrylic, leather, fabric, stone, plastics, and metals including stainless steel, gold, silver, and aluminum.

The Kraft also includes several user-friendly features such as a built-in 16 MP camera for positioning, one-touch autofocus, batch engraving, speeds up to 600 mm/s, and power-loss resume. It works with software like LightBurn, LaserGRBL, and AtomStack Studio, though taking time to properly calibrate the camera is important.

One of my favorite uses for the Kraft is creating precision parts for hobby and model-building projects. It makes it easy to produce miniature furniture kits, RC airplane parts, model boats, architectural models, mechanical kits, and custom craft projects. Because it supports multiple materials and thicknesses, you can design and manufacture complete kits using wood, plastic, fabric, leather, and more.

Overall, the AtomStack Kraft is an extremely capable and versatile laser cutter and engraver. With its dual-laser system, wide material compatibility, expandable workspace, rotary engraving support, and professional-level precision, it’s a powerful tool for makers, hobbyists, and small workshops. Whether you're engraving metal jewelry, cutting intricate wood parts, producing crafts, or creating detailed models, the Kraft handles it all with impressive ease.

I sincerely recommended it for anyone serious about laser cutting and engraving.
