I’ve visited Audio T in Brighton a few times over the years, but I couldn’t take to the atmosphere.
I shopped there in late August this year and was pleasantly surprised to meet new members of staff.
I was made to feel very welcome, nothing was a problem, I listened to various pieces of equipment that were available and eventually treated myself to an excellent pair of speakers that were recommended to me to listen to by Jake and Louis. I bought them and I now love Audio T’s friendly helpful and warm atmosphere in the lovely store.

I called in advance to check that the items were in stock and they were, so I didn't waste a journey. These are a useful addition to my system. To Audio T's credit, and my shame, they willingly cleaned some records which were unplayable after thirty years of dirt in the groove, which now sound clear and lovely. Great service, great value

I have been using Audi T at Portsmouth since the 1980’s (when it was Jeffries). Between twenty and twenty-five years ago I built my Linn/ Naim system with Audio T. It was rarely a smooth process, but I stuck with my ‘local’ dealer.
My current main system is now starting to flag and I intended to buy new amps and speakers. I contacted Audio T at Portsmouth to book an audition of three pre/power amp combinations plus speakers. I booked a week in advance and I was advised that the speakers were in, but the amplifiers would need to be transferred from other branches. Fair enough, there was enough time.
Yesterday, I travelled over from the Isle of Wight. On a map this looks straight forward, but for various reasons, this journey is trickier and more expensive than it should be.
On arrival at Southsea, I contacted the shop to let them know I was running a little late. The person I spoke to seemed surprised. I had to clarify what I wanted to listen to, only to be informed that the amplifiers were still at other shops.
I turned around and went home.
Clearly Audio T are doing so well that they can afford to throw away this potential custom. I will not be going back.

Fantastic service as usual from Audio T. I bought my first serious hifi from Maggie Oakman at the Enfield Audio T shop in about 1997.

I Went in to the Brighton store a few weeks ago for a bit of advice and help on buying a new system, but one of the guys was so rude and beyond patronising to me.
It honestly felt like the old “woofers and tweeters” sketch from not the nine o’clock news show.
Left the shop and spent £17 k with someone that was pleasant and wanted the business .
Truly the worst experience I’ve had in a shop for years.

Great experience once again. If you spend a little time with Jon and the team and explain your requirements, what you want to achieve, the environment your gear will live in and budget, they will help you make the right choice. If you’re not quite sure of what you want or what can be achieved with your space and budget, they will show you the art of the possible. Their decades of experience is invaluable to me.
