Q5 Quattro S-Line

Bought the Q5 3.2L Sportline model, happy with the SUV. Reliable and nothing but normal wear, but as expected, high parts/repair costs. Would buy another.

The only premium thing is the price!

I've had my 2013 Audi allroad for 8 years, it currently has 112000 miles. It's always been serviced and repaired by Audi. 25k miles ago I started to need to top up oil between services. Audi then stated that this was normal. I didn't really believe that and started to do some research on my own and found that the early TFSI engines 2008-2012 have an inherent design fault which leads to high consumption of oil.

Gradually the problem got worse and during a service when I yet again made them aware of the issue and my research findings, they said the turbo was burning oil and needed to be replaced before they could do anything. This was done and $4k later my car was still burning oil. Problem got worse and worse. At 1 qrt every 600 miles Audi said that the abnormal use was due to a leaking top cover gasket and they could not do anything until this issue was corrected. I made them aware that the engine bay would have been full of oil if the top cover gasket was to blame but went ahead to fix the gasket at the same time as the timing chain was replaced.

The problem still remained. I have now spent yet another $1k to perform a oil consumption test which concluded that the car is now using 1 qrt each 200 miles which is everything else but normal. Audi finally says that the piston rings need to be replaced and because the car is now out of warranty I have to pay for everything out of pocket!!!

The fact that Audi from day one blamed everything else and asked me to spend premium $ to fix whatever they said was the issue instead of taking responsibility for their faulty engines is ridiculous and everything else but premium. It's so savage and ruthless to bleed your customers of money knowingly that there is an issue with the engines. This is not what I expect of a premium car company.

Whoever is considering of ever buying or owning a new or used Audi please think twice!

DO NOT BUY 2021 AUDI Q5 IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE TO EXCESSIVE ENGINE NOISE.

I recently leased an 2021 Audi Q5 Sportback and after riding it for a couple of hours I noticed that the engine makes a whistling noise at low RPM (around 1500) when accelerating. This is loud enough that you can easily hear it on highways.

Moreover, the turbo makes a loud hissing noise whenever I accelerate. I also test drove 3 more Q5s and they all made the same noises (both whistling at low RMP and high hissing noise). So, I took it to the dealership to exit out of my lease and they said since this issue is happening on all the cars there’s no easy way to get out of the lease and they can buy back the car and the sum of money out of my pocket was 11,000 dollars. So, I called Audi USA and they said they cannot do anything with lease termination and there was basically no way for me to get out of the lease without losing too much money. They suggested I should take it to my local service to thoroughly diagnose this and I did. They gave me a report that quotes: "Costumer states at low rpm there is a whistling sound coming from the engine. Costumer went on test with shop Foreman previously. Technician performed road test and confirmed whistling noise. Technician scanned vehicle and found no faults or DTC pertaining to engine bay. Tech was able to test drive identical model to compare and found noise is normal and from wastegate opening high speed/ low RPM under load. Vehicle is operating as designed."

So basically, the car's engine makes different types of noises, and they call it operating as designed and there is no good solution that I was given by neither the dealership nor Audi USA. So, if you are sensitive to random engine noise (this is by far different from cool sporty engine sounds) I'd steer away from Q5.

This is my first lease from Audi and will never come back.

The Audi A3 has set the template for…

The Audi A3 has set the template for affordable upmarket cars, slightly more affordable alternative from most notably the BMW 1 Series and Mercedes A-Class. Great ability to choose between regular petrol and diesel combustion engines.

The worst auto service experience I've ever had. Little to no communication between service and customer. It took a year and corporate involvement to have FACTORY RECALLS on airbag and leaky fuel line handled. Never another Audi and never ANY car from Crown.

I would give zero stars for the service…

I would give zero stars for the service department of Danbury (CT) Audi if it was an option. I just spent $1,878 to repair breaks on my 7 year old Audi Q7. They replaced pads, rotors and sensors. A typical brake job. This is an absolute travesty and a complete RIPOFF. I spoke to a mechanic friend of mine who told me that they took me to the cleaners. Says the price at best should be half that cost. Please BEWARE of this place.

Stay away from Audi and Audi Newton NJ - Beware Beware

I purchased a new Audi Q7 from Audi Newton NJ
My experience has been a total disaster and feel legal action is the only way I can get restitution.
The vehicle is new but when another dealer performed some warranty work they discovered the vehicle had been repaired prior to my purchase. They informed me that the vehicle had an electrical short that had burned wires, wiring harness and hose insulation. Someone had repaired the damage but did not repair it to Audi standard and worse did not report it to Audi USA for record keeping.
What happened to this vehicle? Who repaired it and why was it not done under Audi standard? Audi Newton said it was not their issue as they had received the vehicle from another dealer in a swap. The second Audi dealer was so concerned they contacted Audi USA and provided me with photos to show the repaired damage to the undercarriage and wire harness etc. Can you believe this ...a new car and the dealer says not my issue. This failure to disclose is nothing less than fraud. Would you purchase a new vehicle if you understood it to be damaged and not disclosed? I would never have purchased this SUV.
It gets even better.....
The dealers temporary license expires and Newton Audi did not forwarded me the permanent plates. They instead give me a letter to offer to police asking for a favor and not give me a ticket as they are working on getting me my plates. Unbelievable they want me to drive with expired tags and offer a letter to the police asking them not to give me a ticket. The car is sitting in my garage and plates did not arrive until 65 days past. They kept giving me excuses about wrong insurance or not having my phone number. I contacted them no fewer than 12 times looking for the plates. Didn’t have my number????
All this was reported to Audi USA. They apologized and said they would get me a new vehicle, license etc. The contact at Audi USA missed every deadline and did not return calls as promised.
I had to rent a vehicle as he told me not to drive the car as they were concerned re: the history, the damage, unknown repair etc.
Why not arrange for a loaner?
Now I have a lawyer and will need to take legal action. I also have reported this dealer and Audi USA to the NJ Attorney Generals office of Consumer Affairs.
Question is how can Audi USA continue to promote a dealer such as the one they have in Newton NJ?
Stay away for Audi and Audi Newton NJ

its all about lies

I love my car A6 but i have to tell you that the customer support i have gotten from Audi USA and my dealer Audi Newton NJ is the worst i have ever seen. 15 months ago i purchased a car fro Audi Newton. I was owed a refund and 15 months later i still have not received the money. The rebate company sent check to Audi Newton however they cashed it and wont send my Money. They say its an internal glitch. I wont name names but i will say the entire staff from the general manager to sales manger to new business development manager are all in the game together. They promise and promise and then keep stalling for over a year. I contacted Audi USA over 9 months ago and they are useless they open case after case but in the long run say the dealer holds all the keys.. you would figure that a company like Audi would stand behind the customer 2 Audi in one year and i get no support. All i can say is dont buy on low price and don't expect Audi USA to help you if you have an issue. so if you are near Audi Newton RUN or DRIVE away as fast as you can. And if you speak to customer service at Audi don't believe a word they say.
i have atleast 15 more cars to buy in my life and its sad Audi might not be one of them. all because of a few hundred dollars

Two thumbs up to Audi for the A4 Quattro s line & the Audi S4 Quattro

My experience comes from a owning an Audi A4 2.0 T Quattro s line and I've also owned an Audi S4 both are incredible vehicles. As a car Enthusiast I can tell you these cars are well balanced very quick for the class that they are in extremely safe and conditions such as dirt road driving rain driving and winter snow driving the all-wheel-drive systems are next to none. These cars are extremely fun to drive as far as the drivetrain goes the only issue I ever had was with my A4 I broke the motor mounts do to I am an extremely aggressive driver both the cars I owned were manual 6-speed Transmissions so could have come from popping the clutch from a dead stop. Other than that I had no issues with the feet Vehicles other than some minor interior cosmetic issues with the glove box door latches and in the window switches both breaking and needing to be replaced I was unhappy when I bought my a for that the Bluetooth option was on the radio but I had to buy an extra piece in order for it to function which cost $1,200 other than that I was extremely happy with both vehicles very classy very sporty again very well-balanced vehicles for someone who drives aggressive in Slippery conditions. I bought both vehicles slightly used under 20,000 miles on both vehicles and they held their value very well. Two thumbs up to Audi in this vehicle class smaller 4-door sedan 4 cylinder turbo and V8 awd's!
