For a long time, the manuscript stayed in a drawer because I wasn't sure if it was ready to let anyone read it. It was about my son, who passed away from cancer, so every page was personal. My family kept telling me that his story deserved to be shared, and that is what finally pushed me to publish it. The day I held the printed book, I didn't think about sales or reviews. I just thought about him. having his story in a book feels like I have kept a small part of him with us, and that is something I will always be thankful for.

As a first time author, I didn't know what to expect from the publishing process. I kept thinking I might do something wrong or miss an important step. I asked a lot of questions before giving my approval, and I never felt uncomfortable asking for more information. Seeing the first proof of my book made everything feel more real. There were a few small changes before it was ready, but that's part of the process. Holding the finished book for the first time was the moment I won't forget.
