No return policy whatsoever…….

No return policy whatsoever……., dealt with them for over twenty years but has gone downhill steadily now will never buy from them again. Over twenty days have been trying to get a return authorization cause the parts the $140 worth of stabilizer links are absolutely garbage quality so asked to get my $ back. After slow walking that request for 16 days finally was told to fill out a warranty form as they want to send me replacement parts instead. They don’t want the parts back just send another set just like it.
They don’t carry another manufacturer’s part….

I was looking for some auto parts and…

I was looking for some auto parts and went online to three supplier selling in Canada. I created shopping baskets for six items in the three online stores and found that auto parts way was almost 50% more than Rock auto including taxes and delivery. And it was more than 30% more than parts of avatar. That alone would cause me not to order from them but then at checkout they wanted a tip on top of that. That’s just plain ridiculous. They’ll never hear from me again.

Awful Communication and Non-Existent Warranty

On August 7, 2023 I purchased 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan Disc Brake Kit -Front and Rear Transit Auto (Transit Auto part # KDF-100296) from AutoPartsWAY at a cost of $468.78, which failed less than a year, if not six months later requiring replacement. I had been a “Member Plus”, which AutoPartsWay suggests comes with benefits related to warranty returns and “…priority in front of emails from customers without a AutoPartsWAY Plus membership”.

The rotors and pads were installed in October 2023. Following installation, the rotors began showing premature signs of failure, including corrosion and deep pitting in the areas where they were cross drilled and slotted. Relatedly, braking responsiveness in the vehicle was drastically reduced.

I notified AutoPartsWay of the premature failure first on July 17, 2024, within the warranty provided for this purchase issued by AutoPartsWay for 12-months / 12,000 mile warranty for manufacturer's defects. Five follow up emails followed, with photos of the premature wear, and I was directed to the manufacturer, Transit Auto as it appeared AutoPartsWay would not be engaging, nor honouring its warranty.

Five more emails, copying both AutoPartsWay and Transit Auto followed between July 23 and July 30 as the 1-year warranty expiry date approached. AutoPartsWay advised that the parts failed in less than a year because of a “jammed caliper”, despite wear showing on all four rotors. I advised that there was no jammed caliper and subsequently obtained an independent mechanic’s opinion from a reputable shop (service order dated August 28, 2024). Within the service order, it indicated that the brakes, then less than one year old, were in need of replacement and all calipers were moving freely.

No one from AutoPartsWay would respond to this opinion. The same response was recycled time and time again, that the caliper was jammed, despite having received an objective opinion to the contrary.

AutoPartsWay ultimately led me on until sometime in November 2024 to continue with follow up, constantly advising that someone in some “warehouse” was looking into this, but each time came back with the same response. Ultimately, I indicated I would advise others that AutoPartsWay would not honour its warranty, and would not stand behind what are clearly defective products, sold at full price.

In terms of lessons, I’d encourage others to buy from almost any other auto parts manufacturer given this organization was unwilling to communicate with me, honour its warranty, or even review clear documentation that demonstrated their uninformed opinion as to part failure was incorrect.

I’ve had to purchase new brakes and rotors, less than one year after dealing with this garbage organization. I’ll be sure to advise anyone I can as to the poor customer service I received and the failure to deal in a transparent manner when it comes to warrantable claims.

All the brake parts (Zimmerman rotors & Textar pads) for my Audi were in stock and shipped at the same time and arrived within 3 days of the order date. I found the prices fairly competitive with other online auto parts supplier sites.

two thumbs up!

volswagen only had the whole component, but autopartsway had the singular item i needed, and at a very reasonable price

i got the free shipping included and the part was here in 4 days with a sunday in there

part looks solid, no visible issues
can't complain about anything with these cats, very good service and product

Great customer service!

I had ordered 2 different parts, but only one was delivered. The problem is, it arrived just before Christmas and didn't open it for a month. It wasn't till then that I realized the part was missing.The transport marked it as delivered, so I was expecting manybphone calls and a huge hassle.
I made an online request with autoparts way and they phoned me within a day. No hassles and I had the second part in another day.
Excellent customer service!
I will use them again if for that reason alone.

Garbage company

Garbage company. Ordered the part that was suppose to fit my car/trim. Turned out wrong part listed for my trim. They wanted me to send it back and pay for shipping although their computer system specified it would fit. If I ordered a size large pants and the company shipped a small, why do I have to pay for the shipping to return it!!! I would give them zero stars if I could. Seems this problem of shipping incompatible parts happens lots with this company. Their customer service is non-existent. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM AUTOPARTSWAY! SHAME ON THEM!!!!!

Absolutely the worst customer service

Absolutely the worst customer service. Made an online order, paid for and approved by my credit card company. They refused to ship unless I provided a copy of my ID. My bank even told me NOT to provide this as transaction was approved. They are making up their own rules with no regards to identity theft. No reason they need a digital copy of my ID. Pathetic.
