This company should be avoided at all costs! The guys on the desk at Pisa airport were rude and unhelpful and having an argument with a customer on the phone as we waited. We returned the car un damaged and yet they accused us of scratches on the rear door! They sent a photo of the car in a different location to where we left it and days after we had gone home. How could they prove it was us? There was nobody at the desk when we returned the car just a key drop box. They sent us a bill for 292 euros which I informed them we would not be paying as it was not damaged when returned. They went quiet after a couple of email conversations and then a month later charged my credit card! The bank now say they cannot help with the transaction.

Be aware why this lot appear cheaper than others!
Apart from long wait to check in at Pisa airport, when we finally found the car, (not where we were told it was) looked smaller than I’d booked. Went back to desk but no one there. When back in UK worked out car supplied was group B, when we had booked group C.
After number of emails with agent Autovia not interested.
Then 6 months later they notified we had inadvertently gone into restricted section, (should have read signs better!), but Autovia wanted €60 for admin to notify the authorities of my details. Whilst I accept this is in their T&Cs, they are still not interested that I was given a lower group car to what I had hired, and so why was I still being asked for this fee, when they hadn’t complied with hire specifications.
I know now I will never consider Autovia in future, regardless of price

the worst car rental experience, and we often rent the car during our trips. the procedure to collect the car was very long, considering that we were the only customers. Never had such terrible customer service. the employee told us that we would have to pay extra to add the driver and for basic insurance coverage, while in our confirmation they were included. the employee at the counter tried to scare us as much as possible about the risk of accidents to sell us the highest insurance coverage, failing in his aim he tried to make us change the car for a more expensive one. the car was fine, even if it wasn't the one in the confirmation, but the interior wasn't exactly clean, the antenna was missing so it wasn't possible to listen to the radio and the car had strange squeaks. I had to ask to check the car again before collecting it because some small damages were not reported. This happened in Pisa, maybe other place offerings better costumer service.

Rented in Monesilvano city, The agents were very helpful. The car good and the general service was good. Would recommend.

Made a booking via discoverycars. Something went wrong with the creditcard. Auto via don t except another card. And absolutely not helpful. Instead of the paid 160 euros , we could make a new order for more than 600 euros for a small car!! And as we should do that, we have to wait for at least 5 hours. Not friendly at all. At last discoverycars helped us with an offer by goldcar. They were very helpfull Also very nice people by goldcar. Within 10 minutes everything was arranged. For 200 euros we had our car and could enjoy the holiday. Never more I do business with auto via.

Sparkling new car, quick service

really bad experience. Had a puncture. No spare tyre and what was worse was none of the emergency phone numbers were not working. No one at the airport would answer the phone even though we called about 20 times. When I questioned them about it they said they were too busy. I had to catch a taxi back to Autovia to get assistance and my family had to wait on the side of the road for around 3 hours for a tow truck and then they too had to catch a taxi to the airport.

Very polite and smooth service. The car was absolutely amazing and perfect for the Tuscan roads. Highly recommended!

The staff was unprofessional, impolite, and inconvenient (with offensive sexist jokes, even). But, unfortunately, this is the norm with Autovia in Italy, from all the reviews I have seen.
I had to change the contract, and I understood the reason, but the lack of professionalism during the process was shocking and surprising! In addition, I had to pay an additional 69€ fee which was not clarified by the staff in any way. I tried to find it in the "price list" but without success. This is the price you pay for a low-cost car rental service. The car was ok, although without water to clean the front and rear glasses. The car explains the 2 stars, otherwise, it would be just 1.

This is one other review I found, and it says all:

what could be more 100% sure, then terms and condition of the company,

they could mail me, that they accept only CREDIT, and if i disagree, cancel my booking. But they decide to escalate"

Difficult to find (Pisa airport) and awful customer service. The worst car rental experience I have ever had.

Waited a while at the desk because we arrived fairly late, but otherwise a great experience. All other companies we looked at were loads more expensive and we got a brand new Kia which was nice and spacious. Paid for a manual, but we got an automatic which helped on the Italian roads! Can’t fault them.

Perfect. Nice People. No Problems.

No problems! All paperwork done smoothly, effectively and fairly quickly.Everything explained satisfactorily. No ‘hard sell’ of any extras. Efficient return of the vehicle. there was a bit of a wait for the courtesy bus to the car rental booths but this is not Autovia’s fault.

We had booked a car with two child seats and got our booking confirmed. When we arrived there were no child seats and we got no help what so ever. In the end we had to buy child seats but we lost half a day and quite a bit if money. We also had to pay more than 300€ in hidden fees (the original booking was 500-600€ so 300€ is a lot). The car was much smaller than what we had booked so the stroller did not fit. Worst rental experience by far.

Staff on collection helpful & friendly, no hard sell of extras. Car was in great condition and easily located.
Return of the car was easy breezy, no issues.
Would definitely use again, couldn't have gone smoother.

Booked a SEAT, somehow I got downgraded to a Lancia Ypsilon without any compensation.

The Lancia was in decent state, but not the class we've booked.
