This service provider is hell bent on…

This service provider is hell bent on taking money through subscriptions that honest customers had no idea they had signed up to, and when I instructed my bank to block future payments to AVG, they still managed to get around the system and take £160 out of my account. The bank has refunded me and are in the process of investigating AVG. NB: if you order a replacement bank card, guess what, VISA update the companies that take subscriptions with your new card details! How ridiculous is that. To prevent VISA from doing this, you have to request a complete VISA wipe, which allegedly fixes the problem. For a provider that’s supposed to provide protection against online fraud, this beggars belief. My rating is minus 10

I cancelled my auto-renewal

I cancelled my auto-renewal - which AVG confirmed. my debit card has just been billed for another year's subscription that I did not authorise. Their website says I have cancelled my subscription so I am literally paying for nothing. Tried emailing support but emails just bounce back saying there's an "issue". No s**t.

Don't use it and this company tried…

Don't use it and this company tried everything to take your money. They has make it is impossible to cancel the auto renew so they can take your money. I tried to call the 0808 1692189 (from google) but cut off within 1 second. I couldn't find their email address and all their emails to me is no reply. There are no unsubscribe in my AVG account and the unsubscribe steps shown on google isn't the same to AVG account( my account). In my AVG account I have no record of my payment history etc.
I used to call them for help but now I can't do anything. Not even webchat!!

It is Scam to avoid it !!!! It really made you mad !!!
I will wait to see if they will contact me through Trustpilot as they email me to remind me auto renew in next few days. It means it will take my money about £50.
My last option to contact my bank to block AVG to take money from my account.

Complete rubbish

Complete rubbish. Slowed my PC down and it's impossible to cancel subscription. The 'Help Line' asks you to pay for assistance - what a scam.

tried cancelling a subscription and…

tried cancelling a subscription and gaining a refund out of an active subscription but no way of 'unsubscribing' as the support ticket system numbers don't work.

they make you go through a process when there shouldn't be a need to. should only be a button on the account to cancel which is very scammy to me.

Pathetic AVG customer service
Pathetic customer service,it takes days for them to contact you,all I wanted to do was to stop them approaching my bank for payment,i did cancel all recurring payments last April i even told my bank and AVG still attempted to take monies from my account, gave the idiot JOHN PAUL all relevant details and they couldn't find my details,i gave them everything they requested and the idiots asked me to screenshot my bank details(banking app won't let you screenshot)in the end i actually went to the police for advice and they helped sort it with the banks help, now please do not use this company as the customer service is not fit for purpose,John Paul you were some what thick and didn't understand my problem, you showed no empathy and when you finally got beaten into admission you tried to sell me another product....

Oh dear

Oh dear. AVG encapsulate everything that's wrong with the tech industry. I've been billed £65 by them despite having cancelled all my subscriptions months ago. Google tells me a phone number, I call it, recorded voice tells me it's an incorrect number. I log into the website, it gives me a number which is apparently open 24/7. I call it and it drops out immediately. Wow, just wow.

Am I being scammed by "AVG" ?

AVG Security Products are good, but I have huge security concerns about their renewal and bank-card management processes.
My subscription for ULTIMATE (ten device) runs to Dec 2024. Payment will be taken in Nov 2024, but I cannot find out the cost. In the last few days (early Oct 2024) a persistent pop up urged me to renew AVG ULTIMATE VIP (one device). The most expensive option was recommended. "Buy now and make big savings". I do not have this product. Another "AVG" pop-up told me that my system is not linked to AVG software. Very odd, I've been using AVG on the same system for years.
I decided to check my AVG account. I tried to delete my bank card details, but only update is allowed. I entered a new card and left the "save-card" box unticked. I logged out, logged bank in, but the card was still saved. Apparently, only the old card information is not saved. Very bad security practice. Scam? Or are AVG trying to extract my money even earlier and for the wrong product?
I tried AVG help, but it has been improved to an Artificially Stupid (AS) system. Last year AVG clearly gave a phone number for help with renewals, and their telephone support was good. It seems that TRUSTPILOT may be the only way of contacting AVG. If AVG don't like this post, tough. I would have spoken to them privately if they had given a phone number. I like AVG products, but for a "security" company their renewal and bank-card management processes reek of (false) scam. I don't think it's malicious, more likely sloppy management at AVG.

What a waste of time

What a waste of time! Trying to add my new laptop to my existing AVG PC-Tune Up Subscription - ooosht!! Subscription says I can have up to 10 devices on my c£70 pa subscription but they give no clues on HOW to do this on website. "Chat"? They dont respond, and phoning is a waste of your life. At least the CONSTANT pop-ups remind me what a bunch of bots they really are....

Everyday

Everyday, I get a request from AVG, to pay more money. Then today I get a message from AVG to say that they are protecting me, for the money I already paid.
Webmail protection. BS. I just got in an email, through my own email, to ask me to pay money into a BITCOIN account the Hacker claiming he has control of my inbox. AVG is protecting me????? Are you sure or maybe you are the hacker. As it seem for the money already paid to you, you cannot even do your JOB correctly. I wrote to customer service AVG over 6 months ago, small question, no answer, even if we pay we are treated as Sh-t.

I have been a customer of AVG for many…

I have been a customer of AVG for many years purchasing their security for my computer. Not being up to date with modern systems I decided to purchase their Tune Up. The system was duly loaded and worked fine so when the contract ran out I renewed, unfortunately the AVG engineer totally messed my whole system not giving various features time to upload so Tune Up hasn't worked correctly since his expertise! I investigated various programs on my computer to find I had Palikan (malware) and Revo uninstaller installed on the date Tune Up was updated, which I duly deleted managing to get my computer back to normal. The renewal has now run out on Tune Up and I do not intend to pay a further £40 to renew after this experience but since this date, Palikan has now reappeared and I receive so many spam/junk emails that I feel this is AVG trying to get me to purchase the program as I never had them before (they obvious forget I've also got their security loaded!). I kept receiving pop ups trying to get me to renew with the scaremongering of I've got 1450 problems - the only problem I've got on my computer is AVG! I totally agree with the previous reviewer to advise anyone to stay away from this AVG as they're definately not as good as they used to be and cause many problems with computers rather than cure them.

USELESS SOFTWARE - WILL SLOW YOUR PC DOWN!

As a rule I do not click on promotional messages but my PC was slowing down so I bought and downloaded AVG's PC tuneup software BIG MISTAKE the stupid software installed an icon on my desktop when I click it, it doesn't run. In task manager its telling me that AVG PC Tuneup is taking up 27% CPU time BUT WHERE T.F. IS IT??? - its probably malware or something. As I'm typing this message if I hit a character key it takes about a second to appear on my screen. THIS CRAPPY SOFTWARE HAS ACTUALLY SLOWED MY PC DOWN. YOU CAN'T PHONE THESE IDIOTS - THEIR FAQ'S ARE USELESS - I HAVE CANCELLED MY SUBSCRIPTION (WHICH THEY KIND OF TRICK YOU INTO THROUGH COMPLICATED SMALL PRINT). DO NOT USE THEIR SOFTWARE - MY GUESS IS THAT ITS SOME KIND OF MALWARE.
