Jeeptastic Service!

Once again I had need to visit Abusi to get some work done on my ancient but much loved Jeep. This time it was to remove the idiotically tough seatbelt bolts so I could put new ones in.
Once again the lads went to town and did an excellent job that even a T Rex could not have done. They were seriously well bolted in and siezed after 35 years of use. But out they came and in went the new belts and bolts and all is good in Jeep world once again. Thanks guys for letting me roll in, fixing another classic car problem, and for the great conversation.....again.

Cowboy dealer

Unfortunately, they turned out to be a dishonest dealer. Purchase went fine, But when we got home, we found the climate control wasn’t working and the locking wheel nut key was missing.

They told us to get it fixed and invoice them for the work. When it came to paying us, They only sent a partial payment. They didn’t contact us or tell us why, I think they hoped we wouldn’t notice.

When we queried this, we were told that we hadn’t got a good price. We showed them that the reason they expected the price to be slightly lower was because they mistook it the type of gas the car needed for another. We had shopped around and found the best price as well as sourcing her secondhand key to keep the cost down.

At this point, the cowboy dealer tricks started. First, they said that we shouldn’t expect the locking wheel nut key to be there just because they are locking wheel nuts. Also, that just because the car was advertised as having climate control, it doesn’t mean we should expect it to work.

Their final go at trying to get away with not paying was to say that they authorised the work as a goodwill gesture, and therefore were not required to an adhere to it.

Thankfully, we purchased the car with my credit card. It was confirmed that all their excuses to get out of paying were nonsense and broke the consumer rights act. The funds were recovered my the credit card company.

If you are going to take a gamble and purchase from here, make sure you pay by credit card and make all agreements in writing. If we hadn’t of done this, they would’ve been able to swindle us. They went to these lengths for a relatively low amount of money, so goodness knows what would’ve happened if there was a bigger problem.

Edit: reply should tell you everything. More lies.

They didn’t even go out to the car during the handover let alone put the key in. They also did not accept the refund from the credit card company, they closed it because there was sufficient evidence. AYB didn’t even reply. The faults were not reported 3 weeks plus as evidenced in documentation. Also, most my reviews are one star? I had to scroll back 9 to find another deserved one star, most of the reviews I have given are 5 star, because most companies are honest and decent. I’ve noticed you comment this on anyone that leaves you a bad review to try and discredit it.

**Climate Control A/C:** Our comprehensive pre-delivery inspection confirmed the air conditioning was fully operational at the point of sale. You first reported issues three weeks post-purchase – a significant delay inconsistent with immediate post-sale defect claims.

**Locking Wheel Nut Key:** This item was physically placed in the vehicle’s centre console during handover, as verified by our handover documentation. We have no record of you reporting its absence at collection. Your subsequent claim of a "missing" key coincides with confirmation you had *already purchased a replacement* prior to thoroughly inspecting the vehicle. We reject any implication it was not supplied.

**Repayment Dispute:** We authorized reimbursement *strictly as goodwill* while investigating these unverified, late-reported issues. The partial payment reflected non-compliant third-party invoices unrelated to our authorization. At no point did we evade obligations; we acted on verifiable facts.

I highly recommend AYB Automatives

I bought a 2nd hand car from AYB Automatives and the experience was fantastic - not something I thought I'd say given the stories we often hear about used car dealers. Aboozy, who I dealt with, was friendly, helpful and went out of his way to make the experience pleasant without a hint of sales pressure. One highlight was him replacing the brakes discs and pads even though they were only advisory on the MOT he did prior to collection. When I messaged with questions prior to purchase, he responded promptly and professionally. I feel if I have any problems down the line I can get back in touch and he will be just as helpful. 12 month MOT, recent service, 3 month warranty and 12 month breakdown cover with the AA. I was very impressed and would recommend to anyone after a car.

A quality car and great service

I am so pleased with my car that I bought from AYB Automotives. The whole process was made very simple with friendly and helpful service. I would truly recommend this place to anyone looking to buy or sell their car, they answer any questions you have from insurance to payments and finance. The Ford I bought was immaculate and at such a reasonable price in superb condition. Definitely give AYB Automotives a go you won’t regret it!

My experience with AYB was great

My experience with AYB was great. Aboozy was super helpful from the very start and very responsive to any questions I had about the car. I was able to view the car the following day after my enquiry and everything from start to finish was professional. The car was immaculate when I received it and everything has been working perfectly since. Couldn’t recommend this place more!

Please read before purchasing from AYB

Please read before purchasing from AYB, it could save you money and hassle.
I have photos, emails, and screenshots to back up all the below and I am easy to find on social media so please contact me if you are unsure.
I purchased the car and that all went well, I asked for a new MOT which they did. The car was driven down to Luton to have an this when there were several MOT stations close by this was the first alarm. I have my own conclusions to why this was done, I am sure you will too.
Within a week the faults started to appear, a/c and stop start failures, engine warning light, a knocking from the front end and exhaust smell in the car.
I contacted AYB to return the car as it was clear it was not right, they said I had to get a report from a garage showing the faults at my own expense. I got a reputable local MOT station to look at the car at my own expense, the found several issues which they put into a report for me.
AYB took the car back but said it would take 14 days for the refund, after investigation with trading standards this is correct procedure.
So, I had no car and no money for 10 days.
On the day of the refund 10 days later I got an email stating they could not find any faults (even though I have a picture on the day of the return outside the showroom showing the warning lights on) and a report stating the problems.
AYB took £295 from me for “return admin Costs” even though I followed what they wanted me to do, with the report and return.
You can imagine the stress, hassle and cost this whole experience and caused me.
Also please double check the warranty, the one they gave me was a 3rd party silver cover which basically only covered the engine and gearbox.

We are very sorry to hear of your experience and the way you feel the whole process has gone, however, we feel it slightly unfair based on the service we provided you from the moment you contacted us to view the vehicle prior to purchase.

At AYB, we pride in providing a great customer service experience, specifically post sales, and we have great honour in ensuring we are very approachable and will always strive to do our utmost best to ensure the customer is always satisfied.

It was very clear from the moment you contacted us (around 2 weeks after purchase) after purchasing the vehicle that you wanted to return the car, and as per our protocol and procedures we rightfully have the scope to fully inspect the vehicle upon its return. Based on the grounds you wanted to return the vehicle, we were unable to replicate most of the faults that you had mentioned and the only faults were that the A/C was not powerful enough (which we have re-gassed since and is now resolved) and that the start/stop was not working (a battery replacement has resolved). Most dealers would reject a vehicle return/refund based on these faults and would repair these at their cost, but we honoured that you were no longer interested in the vehicle and mutually agreed to action a refund but not due to any major faults with the vehicle.

Excuse the analogy, and with all due respect, but we are not a vehicle rental company for customers to purchase a vehicle and then return a couple of weeks later (and state that they want to exercise their 30 days Consumer Rights 2015 Act as you mentioned) with stated faults that do not exist requesting a full refund on a vehicle they bought from us. We took the vehicle to an independent MINI specialist and none of your mentioned faults were present following prolonged driving and extensive diagnostics/testing.

Referencing the MOT, we had already mentioned to you that we work with many MOT testers and due to it being a weekend, the first booking available was the testing station in Luton, which we booked immediately knowing that you wanted the vehicle ASAP and to avoid any further delays your end, even though logistically this cost us more, but our aim was to save you time even if it cost us some extra money.

The Consumer Rights Act is there to both protect the buyer and the seller, however, it is not to be taken for liberty on a product that has no faults but is just to your dislike after owning it for a couple of weeks. We did what most dealers would reject and offered you the refund less an administration fee as the return/refund is not due to a fault but rather because you were no longer interested in the vehicle.

It does not really come as a surprise seeing your review that you have ever left 2 reviews on your account, of which both are a 1 star. Reviews should be left for any experience that you have, not just the 1 star ones.

After looking for exchange my vehicle,Ayb autos were competitively priced. I did a deal and after a short while car developed a fault. AYBautos took the car back in and fixed the problem at no expense to me.car was better than ever, I'm pleased with outcome and friendly polite service. A great guy to deal with, and will recommend him to my friends.

Recent experience

I wasn’t going to leave a review but I was emailed and asked to. Aboozy is a genuine great person, I just so happened to get a not so great car. Upon getting home and going into a garage for a once over, the car (bmw 1 series) had numerous issues, some being from the engine and some safety related which I was even more surprised by the fact it had a full service the week prior and a relatively new MOT. These issues ranged from a cylinder 4 misfire to faulty airbag and seatbelt sensors. I still hadn’t and at this point have not heard anything about the warranty so whilst I was sad to see the back of the car, I knew it not meant to be. We contacted Aboozy who I have to admit was brilliant and more than willing to cooperate. We explained I would be rejecting the car and Aboozy kindly drove my old car 90 miles to my address and took the bmw back. Fair play to him. Based on the car itself, I’d give 1 star but based on Aboozys service, I’d give 5 so I’ve met in the middle and given 3.

As mentioned, we had fully tested the car prior to sale and everything checked out apart from the oil sensor which you and your partner were advised of prior to sale. We drove the vehicle back to base on a 2 hour journey and hate to say that it was faultless apart from the oil light which we are now checking out. Initial results are all clean so unable to to find any issues with any of the cylinders nor an airbag / seatbelt light, but we will continue testing. All the best

Best car dealer in Leicestershire

Purchased a Mini from AYB in Lutterworth last week, car was beautifully presented and great sales experience, was better than Bmw main dealers! I found the car had a worn clutch and I told the garage and they were brilliant, I got it fixed the next day and they covered the cost, no argument at all, outstanding car retailer and after sales support, I could not ask for more.

Make sure you inspect and check your own facts

Car was bought based on description and photos over lockdown and delivered (on a lorry). Reasonable communication pre purchase but unfortunately description was not accurate as car had circa 800 miles higher mileage than the advert, there were two noticeable dents to the passenger door that had not been flagged up and despite being told it did not need a service soon on checking the on board computer a service was required within 400 miles. Came close to rejecting the car especially as AYB wanted to keep part of the delivery charge despite the issues, only resolved by a small reduction in the selling price.
Had hoped that buying through a Mini specialist would deliver a better and more accurate service. Car is fine overall but don't rely on information given and do your own due diligence.

Many thanks for leaving us a review, even though we strive to ensure complete customer satisfaction, we ensured a very transparent service from us as MINI specialists to yourself as the buying customer.

We always request for potential customers interested in purchasing one of our AYB Approved used MINI's to view the vehicle in person prior to making arrangements to purchase and/or to utilise our delivery-to-home services. We understand that during the lockdown period this may have been slightly difficult (with you being around 220 miles away) but nevertheless requested if possible for you to inspect the vehicle in person prior to committing to purchase, as overall condition is very subjective from one buyer to another.

We provided as many photos as possible of the vehicle both interior and exterior and carried out a live video viewing of the vehicle prior to delivery arrangements and were very transparent throughout the whole selling procedure. Our vehicles go through multi-point checks prior to sale and are driven for around 400/500 miles to test various aspects of mechanical/physical/electronics and drive handling.

The dent mentioned was barely visible but we appreciate your concerns on identifying this on delivery, as we had failed to notice this due to how barely visible it was. Please also note that you purchased a 7 year old vehicle and will have certain marks and the odd bonnet chips and will not be in showroom condition, but for the age and mileage was immaculate in both interior and exterior conditions as correctly mentioned on the advertisement.

Our advert stated that the servicing history was up to date which is a correct depiction of the vehicle. Servicing schedules differ according to manufacturer specifications so we apologise that it required a service soon after delivery but was as described in stating an "up-to-date" servicing schedule.

We always advise customers that our delivery charges are non-refundable in the event of a "no-sale" upon delivery (for any reason) as you were 220 miles away we would would need to ensure that cost is covered.

Upon your dissatisfaction upon delivery we offered to reimburse you 50% of the delivery fee and waive the remaining amount. The vehicle was already a bargain in relation to the then current market valuations for this type of vehicle in age and mileage and condition but we further discounted the price for an amicable solution to which you agreed and had to cut our profits to ensure a satisfied customer.
