Experience with Aylima
When confronted with a device promising four functions in one sleek gadget at a fraction of its apparent value, skepticism becomes a natural companion. Such was my initial sentiment upon discovering the Elva device from Aylima. Priced at an enticing 399 Kr with the added allure of three complimentary face masks, the offer seemed too good to be true.
Upon receiving the package, my suspicions swiftly found validation. The Elva device, though marketed as a premium beauty gadget, exhibited a lack of sturdiness and a rather cheap appearance during the unpacking process. It was a moment of realization—perhaps the discounted price was not a stroke of luck but rather a reflection of the device's true worth.
A brief online search, conducted belatedly, revealed a disconcerting truth. The Elva device bore an uncanny resemblance to numerous identical products available on platforms like AliExpress. This revelation cast doubt on the company's origin story, which claimed to be founded by two nurses dedicated to beauty innovation. Instead, it suggested a more plausible scenario: Aylima might have sourced a batch of generic gadgets from a Chinese factory and adorned them with their logo.
The disappointment, however, didn't end with the lackluster build quality and dubious origins. Attempting to power up the Elva device, it displayed an utter lack of responsiveness. Assuming it required a charge, I plugged it in—only to be met with an alarming surprise. Charging wire got scarily hot with a burning smell. Fearful that it might pose a fire hazard, I disconnected the device.
In an attempt to address these issues, I reached out to Aylima's customer service, as prompted by an email soliciting feedback. Regrettably, my attempt to communicate the problems I encountered fell on deaf ears. Despite my detailed description of the faulty device, the company chose not to respond or offer any assistance.
UPDATE: Have to admit that I got a refund from Aylima. This experience has reinforced my confidence in the company to some extent.
