I signed up to learn Spanish on Saturday. I signed up for the monthly payment plan @ $8.95 a month. Immediately after I completed the signup, Babbel charged my card the full amount! I then tried to cancel the plan and received an email stating they would cancel my renewal. This is not acceptable! I sent an email to their support asking them to cancel this subscription and refund the money. They have refused stating they do not offer an installment plan. I screenshot a copy if the order I signed up for (copied to this post), and they will not respond or acknowledge my request. My next step is to contact our states Attorney General and the FCC. The page will not let me post the screenshot, but I was able to cut and paste the main page!

I canceled the same day I bought it, and they still charged me for the entire year. Very upset about this. You can write to Germany to complain about it. Is that worth trying, likely not.

After all the problems I had with the installation I looked at my bank account and saw I was billed TWICE. Looking at past posts it seems their customer service is rated very poorly.
If I don’t get one of the charges fixed I will just cancel the whole sale. If that doesn’t work I will file a complaint with my bank and get my money back and will give them another bad review.

I find this approach totally going in the wrong direction as they have phrases and sentences which do not have a relative usage in everyday French. For example "the author, whom we spoke about, is known" This sentence has no connection with the previous subject therefore creating confusion especially as it refers to a subject not in common usage. If it said" the person, whom we saw yesterday has just moved into that house across the road from the church", it would still result is a concise usage and be relative to a subject more in keeping with everyday usage.
