Baldy bonsai (pots), Kevin Berresford, polymath pottery

HAD AN EXTREMELY UNPLEASANT SITUATION WITH KEVIN BERRESFORD APRIL 2026.

Bought a pot from him on FB Auctions in 2024 and I was extremely complimentary. (From Kevin- “Thank you so much xxxx! You made my week!” )

Bought two more last year and put them on a shelf (indoors). Took one out recently to use and it has a bad warp. I contact Kevin explaining and suggesting a couple of possible replacements from his website. At first he ignores my message for three days (though FB shows he is active the whole time). Then, after I send a second message “Kevin ?” he answers almost immediately. He replies “Well, if you want me to replace the green crackle I'm going to suggest you send it back and I'll refund you. No sense in having something you don't want, right? Let's get over that hurdle then we can discuss the future.” So he DOES NOT trust that the pot is defective, he DOES NOT agree to replace the pot or pay for shipping it back to him, and he wants me to put time in to pack up and send a $55 pot?

So I send him a video of the pot with its obvious warp. Again he wants me to send it back to him. Then things get testy- including this EXTRAORDINARY comment from him: “You've had the pot for nearly a year and should be thankful that I'm willing to take the pot back.” So the fact that I didn’t notice that the pot was defective clears him of the responsibility for making a defective pot?

So here’s what I think. If he had any integrity he would have simply said: “Really sorry about that- do whatever you want with that pot and I’ll replace it with one of the same value.”

And here’s the kicker- AS A RESULT OF THIS UNPLEASANTNESS I GO LOOK IN THE GARAGE AND THERE I FIND HIS OTHER POT FROM LAST YEAR AND IT’S WARPED TOO.

So please watch the video and see for yourself if you want to buy from this guy. (for Trustpilot- unfortunately Tp does not allow videos in reviews. Go to FB and search for "Bonsai Auctions Reviews then search for him if you want to see the video.)
