Ben has been tutoring my son from home for over a year, he is a reliable person, with good interpersonal skills, who knows his subject's well and delivers engaging lessons.
My son was considered a SEN learner at school, and since home schooling he needed some support and structure from a tutor. My sons' confidence and ability to apply himself to English and Math has really improved, I would highly recommend Ben for tutoring.

Having tried other tutors, we were very happy when we found Ben to help our son with preparation for the 11+ exam. I particularly valued the personalised weekly feedback which helped us to support our son and target weaker areas. Ben has a great approach combining sensitivity, understanding and encouragement to get the best out of the students, without piling on the pressure. He is a good communicator and always had time to listen and answer any questions that we had. He had some great tips for how to approach the exam, which made it less daunting than it could have been, and helped our son to feel confident that he could do well. Our son has happily secured a place at grammar school now and we are delighted.

My son really enjoyed the sessions. We had a few false starts with other tutors and were so pleased to find Ben. He was great with the kids, gave weekly feedback and targeted homework, extra sessions and was really easy to communicate with to help with any specific struggles they had. My son met 11+ required standards and came in the top 360 of 11+ candidates, and I don’t think that would have happened without Ben’s tutoring. Really impressed!

Ben provided online 11+ tutoring for our child. We were very happy with his approach to the lessons, which were tailored to learning needs. He was always well prepared and provided good resources for homework. His style is engaging and supportive, quickly building a good relationship with our child while also challenging to do better. His communication with us was excellent and discussion on strategy and way forward were really useful. We would definitely recommend / use again.

Ben tutored both our kids for the 9+ and 11+ over the best part of a couple of years. He was patient but firm, nurturing yet stretching. He understood our kids needs and adjusted his teaching style. I wanted to share some fantastic experience my youngest son, Daud, has had with Ben as his tutor.

We've tried several tutors in the past, but Ben has a unique teaching style and method that truly resonates with Daud. He's incredibly patient, and Daud has responded so positively to his approach.

Since starting lessons with Ben, Daud's progress has been remarkable. His school reports are glowing, with teachers noting his increased ability to tackle challenging questions. Even more importantly, Daud's confidence has soared. He now actively participates in class discussions and even takes the lead in group work, which is a huge change.

Ben was an after-school remote tutor for our son from 2020 until 2024, up until he started secondary school. They mainly covered Maths and English.

The reason we hired Ben was because our son wasn't particularly enjoying his in school English classes, and would often answer questions in the most basic way possible - resulting in poor grading. His maths was pretty good, but the one-on-one time really helped to fill any gaps.

The additional help Ben gave him increased his understanding of what the questions actually wanted, and helped him structure appropriate answers with insight and imagination. Practicing this really helped him with his confidence, and there was a significant improvement in his marks.

Bens assistance in 11 Plus practice sessions was great, and the resulting grades were a credit to his efforts.

Bens attitude is very professional and nurturing. The kids sometimes found it difficult to engage some weeks [mainly due to tiredness], but Ben handles the situation very well and still gets the best out of them.

Once our son had 'aged out' of Bens tutoring, we signed our daughter up for the same sessions.

Overall, we're really impressed with Ben and would recommend him to anyone.
