Extremely poor customer service and faulty product
I ordered a helium cylinder for a party on 22nd March, but the product didn’t work—no helium came out. I followed all the proper steps (I’ve used helium before), and tried to resolve the issue immediately by calling the company on the day. Despite leaving urgent messages, no one got back to me for a month.
When they finally responded, they insisted I provide a photo of the cylinder’s code—something I could have done if they’d replied when I first contacted them. By the time they responded, the faulty item had been disposed of (understandably, after weeks of silence). Even then, they continued to delay and push the issue back to me rather than offer any meaningful resolution.
I’ve had to chase repeatedly, quote my consumer rights, and still received no refund or compensation. The product was not fit for purpose, and the service was equally poor—slow, unhelpful, and dismissive.
I strongly advise others to avoid BalloonHelium.co.uk / Bonza Balloons. If your order goes wrong, don’t expect timely or fair treatment.

We're very sorry for the disappointment with your recent order, we certainly would expect balloons to stay inflated for longer than this.
We were just hoping to get some further information from you as I can't see that we have been contacted regarding the problem that you had with your order. If you would like to contact us on info@balloonhelium.co.uk we can look further into this for you with the hope to establish what may have caused the short float time of the balloons and if it was a problem with the helium we can of course look to a resolution for you.
Helium Quality latex balloons tend to float for 8-10 hours depending on conditions and Helium Quality foil balloons for at least a few days. It is unlikely that there would be a problem with the helium itself as the same "batch" is used to fill thousands of cylinders and so we would have received many similar reports. If you'd like to contact us via email at info@balloonhelium.co.uk with your order reference number we will be able to look further into this for you.

Balloon size error
Didn't realize that the number of balloons helium would fill was on really small size balloons ..therefore my hoping for 20 was totally wrong as full balloons was on 10 to 12 maximum.

Worst customer service
Initially the transaction was smooth and simply- however, this company supply helium through a third party. When collecting the helium the third party informed me that their was no fixed return date on the cylinder and to return when empty as with other gas cylinders but Bonza Balloons sing from a different song sheet! They contacted me 5 weeks after what they say was my official return date to tell me I was five weeks over due and I owe 5 weeks additions rent. I explained the information I received was different and this was also verified by the third party suppliers too. Bonza balloons wouldn’t accept this and chased and chased for the additional payment. Going as far a threatening debt recovery. Had I been aware of the fixed rerun date I would have returned on time and avoided all the extra hassle. When using a third party they need to be certain that all involved are giving out the same information.
Worst customers service and will 100% never use or recommend again.

I am very sorry to hear that you were given conflicting information when collecting your helium cylinder from the depot.
Please kindly note that depots are just a pick up and drop off point for orders. The depots can act as a pick up point for various different companies all of whom will have their own terms and conditions and agreements in place with the suppliers. We would therefore encourage any queries to always be made through the company that the order was placed through.
We do advise on our website that all Hire Cylinder orders include your first 28 days of hire, after-which hire extension charges of £7.46 + VAT per week would apply until the cylinder is returned. This is also outlined in our terms and conditions of hire, on our confirmation emails, on our invoices and in the courtesy reminder email that we send to customers before the end of their free hire period.
We do therefore feel we make every possible effort to make these hire charges clear to customers prior to ordering and after ordering. However we do of course agree that you should not have been given conflicting information from the depot so we apologise for this and we will be raising this issue with our suppliers.
