I cannot praise Banwells highly enough. They sourced a new wire chain for my Tahitian pearl and diamond pendant while preserving the original fittings. They also managed to source an exact matching earring back, which I genuinely did not think would be possible.

I bought the pendant and earrings as a set in 2001, so after all these years it meant a great deal to me that they were able to preserve the integrity of the original set so carefully.

Although the original wire chain was badly frayed and beyond repair, they credited me for the value of the old 18ct gold and created a replacement that retains the delicate elegance of the original while feeling much more substantial and secure.

My particular thanks go to Kate, who was outstanding throughout. She was not only knowledgeable and professional, but also wonderfully patient, reassuring and attentive at every stage. She kept me fully informed, understood how much these pieces meant to me, and made the whole process feel personal, thoughtful and straightforward.

The quality of the workmanship, the customer care and the overall result were all first-rate. I am thrilled with the outcome and very pleased to support such an outstanding local jeweller in Sidmouth.

I wanted a special ring for my 70th birthday to eventually give to my granddaughter Daisy. I think the shop assistant was Kay or Kate but she went out of her way to find the right ring, which was a Daisy diamond, which I love.

I purchased an antique ring for a very special birthday. Knowing very little about precious stones, I was placed in the capable hands of Heidi, who was a pleasure to deal, being professional and helpful. I found a ring that has truly exceeded my expectations. The ring is beautiful, delivery was seamless and the resizing was done perfectly. The whole experience felt very special and I could not be happier.

I was looking for some earrings online when I discovered this shop who had exactly what I wanted. It was too far to visit but had excellent service online with phone call to let me know it was on its way. It arrived so quickly, even though it was between the Christmas and New Year celebrations. I cannot say how happy I am. With a big thank you to Simon for 10 star experience.

I am absolutely thrilled with the pink tourmaline and diamond platinum ring I purchased from Banwells in July. I've worn it continually and can't stop looking at it. Thank you Simon, and Ann for being so helpful, as always.

We have long been enthusiastic window shoppers at Banwells in Sidmouth and have entertained every fantasy conceivable to would-be jewellery collectors. Nothing was over-budget, it was all attainable and we always walked away very happy with our window purchases!
Recently, after 27 years, my partner and I decided to get married so, of course, there was only one place to go for our wedding ring.
Once inside the shop we were given the undivided attention of the delightful staff (Kate on our first visit when we chose our ring, and Heidi on our second when we collected it after resizing), and nothing was too much trouble, there was no rush.
The only limitation was that my partner was not allowed to look at anything that didn't have a price-tag - I imposed that restriction for my own safety!
We finally settled on a beautiful diamond and sapphire half-eternity ring in 9 carat gold in a channel setting. We could not have been happier and are now both looking forward to 'The Day' when it will sit perfectly on my partner's/wife's finger.
Our thanks to everyone at Banwells, including Simon (the owner), for their courteous and helpful service and swift turnaround of the resizing work. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Items were what I was looking for, and were well-priced. Banwells sent a nice email acknowledging the order, and actually called to advised that they had sent it. Items arrived speedily and well-packed, with a personal note. Very pleasant experience ordering from them. Would not hesitate to do it again.

Great service, beautiful jewellery.

I had three vintage rings, gold and small precious stones, which had enormous sentimental value but were no longer wearable.
I asked Banwells to completely refashion them into one modern style ring.
They did a beautiful job, combining my specification and their artistry, and I am delighted with the result.

The shop had a gold band ring that I thought I would like (to replace a wedding ring I had lost). Seemed a good price, and the shop lady was very helpful in showing it to me and arranging it to be resized for my finger. The job was done within a short time and the ring sent securely (by Royal Mail). I was very pleased with the service - as I am with the ring.

We contacted Banwells via their website, receiving a prompt & helpful reply from Heidi. I had several rings which required repair, resizing & maintenance. Heidi was very knowledgeable, honest & guided us as to our best course of action. We’re absolutely delighted with the results after collecting my rings today. Welcoming and professional. I needed the stones from a diamond ring making into earrings.
Banwells provided information on what metal to use for the posts, I.e. 9 carat, 18 or white gold. The number of claws required to keep the stones safe but giving max sparkle. They kept me informed of the progress of the work and ensured they were ready for a forethcoming wedding. Well done Banwells.

Unique shopping experience which starts the moment you enter the shop and are greeted by lovely Heidi. She is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and remembered us from previous visits. This is our go to jewellers to purchase beautiful and unique pieces of jewellery. There is so much choice from individual antique pieces or more contemporary styles, you are sure to find something that you will absolutely love! Highly recommend!

We have visited once before to buy a new piece of jewellery and sell some old jewellery . Heidi remembered us and made us most welcolme.We told Heidi what we were looking for and time was taken to find the right piece which needed a little adjustment no pressure whatsoever. We returned later to pick up our new piece. A very pleasant experience

I took 3 of my rings to be resized- engagement ring-wedding ring & eternity ring.
Heidi was absolutely brilliant.
The customer service was fantastic. All of my rings were resized correctly and they came back sparkling.
