I recently visited Northallerton and had the privilege of having a browse round this lovely independent department store. Everywhere was set out beautifully and the staff so very friendly. How I miss this type of store which seem to be disappearing from our high streets in favour of online shopping and impersonal service. Barkers was a delight. I purchased a lovely pair of sandals - great quality and the lady who served me was an absolute credit to the store. Thank you Barkers and I wish we had somewhere like you closer to my home town rather than the nail salons and fast food outlets which seem to have taken over every High Street.
