I have only recorded one pair of shoes. The Cedarwood ones which are fantastic. However the Brandy Hil shine shoes have not arrived and last weekend I sent two emails with the order details outlining this.
I have had no contact whatsoever and given that even in the sale I paid over £200 for these shoes I would like some affirmative action here please.

Really disappointing experience. I ordered a pair of shoes and they arrived with a clear defect running along the side. I sent Barker a video of the issue and then heard nothing for weeks. I called and was told someone from Barker Black would get back to me, but no one did.
I eventually disputed the charge with my credit card company, and only then did someone respond. I was told to return the shoes and wait 10–12 weeks for a replacement because they had to make a new pair.
After waiting, I received what looked like the same defective pair again. I sent another video, received a return label, and was refunded, but nothing was offered for the time wasted and I never received a proper replacement. When I followed up, they basically denied that I had received the same shoes back.
I’m also still waiting on the Hartwells I ordered. Very frustrating experience, especially because the shoes themselves are beautiful.

My usual shoe size is 9 1/2 in F or 9 in G.
Ordered the Morriston - Chestnut calf - 9 1/2 FX.
They are massive on me, way too wide a fit.
In December I purchased the Chigwell - Walnut calf in a size 9 as the fitting is G. They are a very snug fit. With this in mind I thought the FX would have to be 9 1/2. All over the website the Morriston is stated as FX fit. So the shoes arrive and stamped inside the shoe is G! No sign of FX at all.
Also, website says Last shape is 517 yet the Last guide only goes to 499 so you can't even read about last 517.

Beautiful slippers, with leather both on the inside and outside. Two little drawbacks, it slips easily off the foot while walking, and the black rubber soles makes streaks on the hardwood floors. Maybe a suede leather on the inside or something with more friction would be better? In hindsight, I should have gotten a one size smaller, or gotten a model with a heal cap. The overall buying experience however, was top notch. Quick shipping and delivery.

Just received an E-mail from Barker Shoes asking how I was finding my "wonderful new shoes". Have not received any shoes. Have e-mailed and even called them direct at the offices in UK on this matter as was not getting any reply to my e-mails and was finally informed that I would receive an e-mail updating me on my order (has been 12 days since purchase with no correspondence). No E-mail received yet (has been 24 hours). Considering I just spent Over $500 on a pair of shoes, this is not service and then to ask how I was finding my new shoes kind of confounds the whole experience, very bad.
13/05/26 - Finally received E-mail from Barker, Shoes are not available, no real apology just asked me to pick another shoe. Did not even state that I could request a refund which is exactly what I will be doing and NEVER shopping with Barker again. TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!
02/06/26 - apologies for delay was just making sure everything was resolved with my order/s. My Order number was 3530. RE Message from Barker shoes. I decided after spending nearly $170 on returning shoes that I at least got a pair of shoes at the end of all this, so chose a different colour of same shoe instead of requesting a refund, they arrived, received in good time and fit perfectly. So you might think all good all resolved. Yes I cannot disagree there but should state that this whole process started back in early April with an initial order. So for different reasons and not all the fault of Barkers, this has taken 2 months to receive my order and get my refund of another pair of shoes different size I returned. The whole experience has been so unpleasant and unfortunately not one I will repeat. Not because of the shoes but the lack of communication or reply to any of my e-mails. I appreciate things go wrong guys, but when they do it is how to handle it with your clients that matters and the complete lack of communication from yourselves bordered on unacceptable. Well sorry it was unacceptable, I sent 4 e-mails which are still unanswered and it was only after a phone call to your actual factory in uk that I finally got through to someone in customer service who looked into my order/query as to where my shoes were. Then took a further 4 days to tell me you were then out of stock. I wonder how long I would of waited if I hadn't called??. I had to do that twice. Once maybe I could excuse but twice?? It seems that Barker must be short staffed as clearly no one is checking their e-mails to customer service which is online. Maybe best to remove it until you can get someone to check them? Whilst I thanked the individual for getting my shoes to me and resolving my "issue", I have to say I think I will wait until my next visit to uk and a Barker store before looking to make a further purchase from Barker (which I will as their shoes are quality I should state), because their online experience is not a pleasant or easy one. Oh I should add no offer of any discount future or current or any gesture of any kind was offered. Whilst I do not think it would of made much difference to my experience, or I might add was expected on my part, but some acknowledgement from Barker for the lack of service experienced would have been nice.

Shoes haven’t arrived, Dpd courier just stating there’s a problem and providing no further information, each day the delivery date gets extended to the following date. Nearly 2 weeks since ordering. ORDER #EU-14238 Emailed Barker and haven’t even had a response from them. Not the service I would expect from a brand with a good reputation.
Great trainers and very well looked after.
Would highly recommend !

Alongside Church's and Loake, I own two pairs of Barker shoes that were made in Earls Barton. All are very good quality shoes. However, this review relates to my recent purchase of a pair of Barker George Old Snuff Suede Wing Tip Brogue Derby made in India. The quality control in this factory must be poor, as there's a layer of clear plastic between the upper and the sole that is clearly visible and protruding in places. Why there is a layer of clear plastic is beyond me, as I imagine it would adversely impact the breathability of the shoes. Also, one of the nails in the sole is sharp… it would pull the thread on a carpet for example. And the box was wrapped only in brown paper for delivery, and was damaged. I asked Barker to arrange a collection, which they have done, but no explanation, reassurance, solution or gesture was offered. Overall, very surprised and disappointed.
