Barnsbury Housing Association - Disability UNFriendly in My Experience

My entire tenancy with Barnsbury Housing Association has been extremely difficult, utterly miserable and nightmarish ever since they took over from my previous landlord. It's been one administrative burden after another.

After my most recent Stage 1 complaint, a NON-MEDICAL staff member described the intercom access issue I had raised by way of example as a “historic issue” with “associated completed works,” and as “not upheld” and “not applicable,” thereby trivialising my medical diagnosis and reducing it to a mere repair issue.

Their policy says I can contact the Ombudsman at any stage. When I did, I was told to wait for BHA’s full 25 working days first. My draft expires in 14 days, which makes the timeline impossible.
I am now escalating to Stage 2. Their 5pm responses leave me distressed overnight. If I were not a tenant with disabilities, I do not believe this would have been my experience.

On 25 March 2026, Barnsbury Housing Association demanded deletion of this review. That demand was refused. On 28 April 2026, their solicitor demanded that the named individual be removed. I have removed the named individual, but I will not remove the review itself because it reflects my experience of 24 months of unresolved service failures and their impact on my health and wellbeing.
