International Order Errors and Refusal to Correct Them
I placed an international order with barproducts.com and paid very high, non-optional shipping costs, plus import taxes upon delivery to Spain. This was accepted upfront.
The shipment arrived with two broken glass jiggers and, more significantly, 11 out of 12 packs of pourer covers missing, despite being fully charged for them.
I contacted customer service in a clear and courteous manner, explaining the issue and proposing a straightforward solution:
• refund the broken jiggers, and
• ship the 11 missing packs of pourer covers that were never included in the package.
Their response consisted of a single sentence, stating that the items were refunded and that they do not ship missing items abroad.
While a refund was issued, this effectively means that international customers receive no correction of fulfillment errors, only a minimal refund, regardless of the inconvenience or additional costs already paid (shipping and import taxes).
This is not a shipping issue, but a fulfillment and customer service policy problem. Errors made by the company are not properly remedied when the customer is outside the US.
As a result, barproducts.com cannot be relied upon to correctly fulfill or stand behind international orders.
