This company is a rip -off

This company is a rip -off - same fraudsters who ran Oxbridge home learning who suddenly went into administration last October (2025) DO NOT ENROL OR GIVE THEM ANY MONEY. As an ex-student they refused to mark submitted work and return my exam entry fee (£700) that I paid in advance. The same could happen again.

"Trusted by over 150000 students"..

"Trusted by over 150000 students"... So many lols at this corrupt statement.

I think people know to go nowhere near this ramshackle of a company owned by one of UK's biggest con artists.

ANGRY EX TUTOR

ANGRY EX TUTOR

ANGRY EX TUTOR

I feel very angry today, so I'm saying so. Please do not enrol with this company or Barston. I've just been told that the administrators have no contact details for me. 6 years I was there. No morals, no empathy. Terrible, horrible people.

This company has been reported to the Department of Education for Fraudulent Activity

This company appears to have been set up following the liquidation of Oxbridge Online Learning and has been reported to the Department of Education. If the owners are the same as those that have allowed Oxbridge to fail and go into administration I would not use this provider. Personally I have reported Oxbridge for their failure to enable their students to complete there courses. No advice or help has been given. If a student like our son was studying an A level with coursework it is not easy to find an exam centre, other online provider or sixth form that will take him on to assess his work and submit him for the exam. We have been trying to do this for a week and a half.

SCAM COMPANY - do not use. The owner has just put oxbridge into administration taking everyone’s money and opened this company instead. Unless you want to lose your money, avoid. All the stats on the website are made up.

I am glad to see that when I google…

I am glad to see that when I google Barston College, my security software blocks the site as suspicious. This company is owned by the same person whose previous e-learning college, Oxbridge, has just gone into administration, taking students' money with it - including mine (£345 for a GCSE but other students are owed up to £7k). Thousands of students have been left high and dry. Do not enrol in this college - or Oxbridge whose site appears to be still operational!

Please report this “ company “ to…

Please report this “ company “ to google with your reason for reporting them! You can do this by typing in A level French online courses… scroll until you find Barston, then press onto the 3 small dots to the right of their name.

You will come across boxes Share, Save, Remove result and Feedback. Press onto the Feedback box…. and you will come across a list of titles for you to pick to make your complaint about this company! I chose Inaccurate Content, a box will pop up for you to write your complaint! There are others you can pick from!

If enough people do this then Google must stop this fraudulent company from advertising, by using Google… hope this helps!

You can also do the same for Oxbridge!

Avoid at all cost

I was a student at oxbridge and this is Oxbridge in disguise, what ever you do report it straight away. ITS A SCAM. My tutor from Oxbridge messaged me personally saying that Oxbridge made everyone redundant, and went under administration to Barston college so stay away what ever you do

Do not give them a penny and REPORT them!

They are same as Oxbridge! Do not give them a penny and read our experience here. Do not be a victim and fight back against those thieves. We enrolled our daughter to the GCSE in Media Studies and the reviews seem to be good. Hours after making the payment, my husband went back to check the reviews again and we saw many new comments saying that tutors had not been paid for 2 months and that students got no assistance. WE read some students had worked hard for a year on their A-Level and in the end, they had not even been registered to take their exams and they entry to university was compromised. We immediately checked their terms and conditions and it says we could change our mind within 14 days. We followed the instructions to cancel the payment, only hours after having made it. The following morning, we tried to call them but no answer. By miracle, they replied on the chat and said that we needed to forward that cancellation request to another email address, which we did. After that, they no longer replied. We pretended to be new customers and guess what, they immediately called us back to take our money!! My husband told the sales person on the phone that what they were doing was illegal. They could not take people's money while they know people have been made redundant, they have no tutors and they are being put in administration. The person hang up on us!!! I had also registered so they also contacted me, to talke more money from us but when they realised it was to get our refund, they stopped communicating. We contacted the bank very early on, when the payment was still showing as pending but they said they needed to follow the process and give them evidence that we had requesteda refund and communicated with them. Make sure you keep all your evidence, I took screenshots of the chat exchange and my many attempts to contact them. You will need it for the bank or a complaint! The bank told us we would have to wait until the 26th of Sept to formally raise a dispute and get a chargeback. On the 15th of Sept, by miracle, they replied to our daughter and said we would get a refund within 10 working days but that it will probably take less. We waited until this week and 13 working days later, still no refund.....we called the bank and sent our evidence. You MUST request a charge back from your bank for them not delivering the courses, even if it is past 14 days! Keeo evidence of them not communicating as well as all the comments here on Turspilot. If you have contact with tutors, see if they would accept to send you an email to testify of what is going on there. Also, our payment was taken by the Barston College so make sure you tell the bank they are the same. Also, PLEASE report them to Trading Standards and contact the CITIZEN ADVICE to find out how to get your money back. As someone else said before, make sure you did it ASAP before there is nothing left. Investigate if it is possible to go after their director, maybe in a civil suit, as he seems to be behind both Oxbridge and Barston College and I do not see why he could enjoy the money he stole from hard-working people while his companies made so much damage in the lives of thos kids and students. He should pay every single one of you back!!! Stay positive, keep strong and all the best of luck to all the families, kids and parents!

do not pay the invoice; beware!

do not pay any invoice from ‘Barston College’, they are scamming you out of your money. i have copied my comment that i have left on ‘Oxbridge Home Learning’ to hopefully help.

**BEWARE OF SCAM**
do not pay into this; please do further research.

unfortunately after very nearly paying close to 2 grand towards oxbridge home learning, i have found out that this company has gone into administration and is bust. they are attempting to rebrand under the name ‘Barston College’, if you check the corresponding website address it also leads to here. check trust pilot reviews by recent, allegedly they have not paid employees or even sent out details to logins or anything- and it makes sense why. it is absolutely beyond me how they can still take enrolments despite their situation, and it’s shocking how easy it is to fall into their scam given their previously good reputation.

additionally i’d like to add when i was enrolling via email my father was repeatedly not CC’d into the conversation despite requests to, and the invoice was done in my preferred name rather than my legal name (which i appreciate i asked for all contact to be done with it, however the statement would be incorrect, and i did provide both). some of their website is incomplete and you’ll actually find for some of their courses their descriptions are just copy paste templates of others- this lack of care should be indicative of a clear issue happening within the company.

please do not give your money to this company. this conduct is appalling and absolutely predatory towards students.

Just a rebrand of Oxbridge college

This is just Oxbridge college rebranded in blue! The links take you to Oxbridge which has gone bust after not paying their staff for a number of months-currently in administration and still taking enrolments but now under a different name. No doubt they will have this review removed like they have so many others to try and hide this ‘rebrand’.

I had this review removed when adding…

I had this review removed when adding it to the Oxbridge feedback.
I warned of a new online college coming soon, and here it is. Same SMT as Oxbridge and the same morals sadly.

Having been part of a dedicated team of expert tutors for their previous company, it has saddened all of us that the students and staff were completely ignored. Tutors have not been paid for over 2 months, and team leaders were expected to carry on with 'Business as usual' with no staff. All except the sales team have been made redundant, without notice or pay, and they are still taking your money. Now they’re doing it under another name.
I just hope and pray that those of you who have completed your course with Oxbridge do manage to get your well-deserved certificates. Please look elsewhere for a more reputable and most probably, cheaper provider.

Stay away from this company

This is a rebrand of the failed oxbridge online learning company. Even the same log in and contact details?

The problem is they left previous learners without certificates and teachers without pay and seems they want to do it all over again?

Oxbridge AKA Barston is trying to rise again!

Barston is Oxbridge who have gone into administration yet still happily taking anyones money they can! Do not be fooled. Do not sign up with them. They are totally unethical. See all the 1 star reviews from learners who cannot access what they paid for. They have dumped all their vocational courses and are trying to reinvent themselves through the process of "Phoenixing" , you can look this up on GOV.UK website.
