Absolutely horrible experience, they do not have a proper customer service nor telephone number. And they refused to refund three times, promising that they would send the lamp "soon". As of today I don't even know why it took so long to them to send the package.

We ordered products on October 25, 2024. After a few months we still hadn't received the products but we had paid the invoice. We chose to cancel the order and asked for a refund. It is now December 2025 and we still haven't received any money. We also happened to pay the invoice twice and that payment has not been refunded either despite them saying so several times.

I bought a Bauhaus Movement 'Walter Gropius Simplex' watch. The watch is a very nice design and I am happy with it. I had a problem with the watch after 6 months and had to return it. We had a few problems due to the complex arrangements in returning an item from England to Germany post Brexit (German Customs kept it hostage for a while). I think you can tell whether a company is good or not when you have a problem. They really stuck with it until it was resolved, and at no charge. (Thanks to someone called Ela in customer service BTW) I recommend this company and product.

I placed an order on June 23rd for an item that I was told was in stock and ready to ship.
In addition to the shipping price originally calculated, I was charged an extra amount for shipping plus a foreign transaction fee.
After a long delay and several inquiries, I was told they didn’t have enough packing supplies to ship my single light fixture. I was told that it would ship as soon as they were able to get additional shipping/packing materials.
It has now been over 2 months.
I recently asked for a full refund and have not yet received a response or a refund.
It feels like a scam and I advise against getting involved with this vendor.

After I posted this public review, reported fraud with my bank and submitted a formal complaint to the European Consumer Centre (ECC) Germany, the case was suddenly escalated — less than 24 hours after the review went live. After more than 3.5 months of delays and empty promises, I was finally contacted by the company’s Brand Ambassador and Communications Manager, and the refund was processed within one day.
In that message, I was also asked to consider removing or revising my negative review, which I found inappropriate under the circumstances. While the tone of the final communication was polite, it doesn’t change the fact that action was only taken once public pressure was applied.
The company had every opportunity to resolve this months earlier — instead, they acted only when their reputation was at stake. That says everything. Shameful to say the least.

I ordered a replacement glass for the WG24 / WA24 Wagenfeld Bauhaus lamp from Bauhaus Movement in March 2025. While placing the order, I was first asked to pay via bank transfer, which felt outdated and insecure. A few days later, I was sent a Revolut payment link, which I used to pay €170 in total.
Despite a stated delivery time of 7–10 days, the item was never shipped. Over the next three and a half months, I exchanged 30+ emails with the company. I offered to even receive the item at a Berlin address to help resolve delays, but that didn’t help. They kept promising shipment or refund, but nothing ever materialized.
Eventually, I formally requested a refund, which they said had been issued — but I never received any proof of payment or the actual refund.
The communication was always polite but largely unproductive. I had to follow up constantly, and to this day, I’ve received neither the product nor a refund.
I sincerely hope others do not go through a similar experience. Based on my case, I cannot recommend this store.
In case of similar experiences, i urge you to report them to the European Consumer Centre (ECC) German.

Since my last update in May, there has been absolutely no contact from Bauhaus Movement. It has been almost nine months since they took my money. These people are scammers. Despite assurances of a refund being forthcoming, I still have no lamps nor a refund. Save your money. They will just keep it and you will get nothing in return. I am now waiting to hear back from the lawyers although it's possible that Bauhaus will just ignore them too.

After following up, I was told week after week, first by Niklas Halver, and then next by Clara Becker that the item would be sent. I asked for a refund, and they went radio silent for days.

She quickly responded to my communications and we solved various outstanding issues in relation to the purchase together. Last Update. Finally got the chess set!!
I did some research and I found the manufacturer. They acknowledged to me that they are suppliers of bauhaus-movement and that they have indeed had production problems.
They intermediate in my case and the chess set was sent directly from their warehouse.
The quality of the chess set is top tier.
The customer experience has been a nightmare with +40 mails exchanged and a file reported at Police which I am withdrawing.
Now I don't think they are scammers but they should act as a serious online shop and refund every order that they can't fulfill after 7 days. If not, you arrive to this point where lot of people think you are scammers.
Finally, a very important tip if you are buying at Bauhaus-Movement: ask them and assure they have items in stock. Refunds are nearly impossible to receive.

I have just filed a report at the police station.
Don't even think of ordering anything on this site.
I will tell you my case:
--13th October 2024.
I ask them if they have a chess set (figures and chessboard) in stock and they reply: ‘Both sets are in stock. As soon as we receive your payment, we will send it to you immediately’.
--20th October 2024.
I place the order and they write to me: ‘We would like to know whether you would agree to a bank transfer. We will of course issue you with an invoice’.
In fact the bank transfer is the only method of payment they accept, they do not accept payment by credit card, much less Paypal.
On the same 20 October I make the transfer (almost 500 €) and they reply that they are already preparing the order so that it arrives before 5 November (my father's birthday).
--22nd October 2024.
I write to them to ask if they have received the transfer. The same day they reply ‘We have the chess figures in stock, still waiting for the chessboard as the manufacturer is struggling with a delivery delay’.
I then ask them why they initially told me they had it in stock. They reply:
‘Unfortunately, we were under the impression that the chessboard was in stock with the manufacturer in Switzerland, so we could have sent both together. Only today we were informed that there are production problems which they want to resolve as quickly as possible’.
They also tell me that they are going to meet with the manufacturer to resolve the problem.
--27th October 2024.
I write to them again to ask for updates.
--30th October 2024.
No reply to the above, I wrote to them again for the same thing.
On the same 30th another woman replies. However, she tells me the same thing, that they still have production problems and that they are going to try to send it to me directly from Switzerland.
--6th November 2024.
With no news, I write to them again telling them that it has been 2,5 weeks and I still haven't received anything. It's a disgrace and now I understand why they don't use Paypal.
--7th November 2024.
Ela replies with ‘You have all the rights to be mad at the delay and our intransparency about some stock information. But that is why we want to make up for this mistake and prioritize your order, so that you receive the chess set first! We are in constant exchange with the manufacturer, so that we can guarantee a fast solution.
Please trust the process!
--10th November 2024.
I write to them saying that it has been 3 weeks, ask for a full refund of the order and send them my bank details.
I have not received a reply since.
I have read similar reviews. I have already filed a complaint at a Spanish police station.

Despite paying just short of 7000euros for tables and a rug we have received nothing. Numerous emails (at least 4) have reassured us that it is on its way. Coming up to 12 months now. The legal process for people outside the EU is tedious. Don’t risk it, would be my advice.

I would not recommend buying anything from this business. They are either extremely incompetent or it's a front for a scam. I bought a chess set at the end of January at the beginning of this year and I should've known something was off when they said they no longer were taking credit cards or did Paypal. They make you do a wire transfer. Anyways, the chess set was ordered and I wired them the money. They said that it would take about a week for the item to ship out. A week passed and I don't hear an update from them so I reach out and they said they are still working on it. Another week passes... still nothing from them, so I reach out again and still nothing. This would become a reoccurring theme. Instead of them doing the courtesy of reaching out and providing updates on your order, you're expected to constantly follow up with them or they're hoping that you'd forget and even when you follow up with them, it isn't the standard 3-5 business days of when they will get back to you. Sometimes it will take them a week or two to respond.
During this time I dealt with two people, Ela Jensen and Niklas Halver. I first had the displeasure of dealing with Ela Jansen. On February 19th of this year, Ela said that my order would be shipping out that week. Keep in mind that I sent payment on January 30th and kept trying to get an answer from them of when they would ship. A whole week passed and I asked them what's the status on February 15th. I don't hear a response from Ela until Feb 19th and Ela keeps insisting that the order would be shipped out soon and is checking in with her "colleagues" on what the status was. I follow up again on February 24th and I don't hear from Ela until March 1st. Again, same song and dance and no idea of when or what is happening with my order. I keep giving them about a week to respond and it's now March 18th and Ela suddenly becomes ill and has no idea if anyone else from the company has reached out and tried to reassure me that the order would be shipping out that week. It's been 2 months now since i've placed the order and still no idea of what is happening. I keep trying to follow up with Ela and at this point, I just want a refund. I got no response from Ela for about another week until Niklas Halver reached out.
I get a response from Niklas, who would be taking over for my order from Ela. Niklas responds with how the team is getting my order out soon and giving them more time before "calling it quits". ANOTHER week passes, and it's now April. I try to ask for a status update and still nothing for another week. Niklas, makes up an excuse about the confusion and says on April 3rd that I should've received a tracking number by now. WHAT A JOKE. I tell Niklas I haven't received a shipping number. I don't hear back from him until May. So a whole month goes by and its radio silence from this company. On May 1st, Niklas conveniently tells me that they tried to ship my order via DHL but it got sent back to their warehouse. During that time, I didn't hear from them, I asked them for tracking information or for any sort of documentation that proves that they sent out the package and heard nothing from them. SO there is no way of proving what Niklas is saying about "item being sent back" being true. He's just lying at that point. They say they will try again and the same story plays out again. No tracking info. Nothing for almost an entire month and we are now into June. No tracking number, no refund, no clarity from either Niklas or Ela. It is now June 24th and Niklas tells me that he is sure the package is still in their warehouse. So what were they doing during that time back in May when they said that they would try to ship it out after a "failed attempt through DHL" the first time? It's been over 5 months and no movement on the order. I just wanted a refund that I am entitled to since they never fulfilled my order. Should be an easy process right? NOPE.
It's July 6th and Niklas tells me that he can't process my refund yet because actually the order was sent out again. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? They're really pulling out all the excuses from their butts at this point. This goes on for another two months. Niklas all of sudden goes on travel and now I'm back to dealing with Ela again.
I would recommend calling your bank immediately to get your money back or seek legal advice.
UPDATE 10/24/24: Still no "immediate" refund.
UPDATE 11/01/24: Still no refund. My case got turned over to Marie, who has been handling it for the past week only "get ill". Now Clara is handling it but responding to me with Marie's email.
UPDATE 01/17/2025: I gave them the relevant IBAN info and still no refund.
UPDATE 02/22/2025: Still no refund. More than a year since the order was made. Still no resolution.
UPDATE 04/07/25. No refund & now the person helping me is on leave. It shouldnt take a year to process a refund.

The chess set is amazing. A masterpiece that has symbolic meanings in every piece of it. I loved it. The quality is undoubted, and the set looks chic. Besides the set, Bauhaus is another level of quality. I had a trouble with the custom service of my country, as it would be internationally shipped. But the sales department made every effort and kindness to solve the problem and they were very patient even I was very anxious.
