My last 4 tins of Baxters over priced soup.. Chicken Broth - rotten veg was found. Cockaleekie soup - soil grit found in the leeks because of the way they cut and prep the leeks. You are not suppose... See more

salmon hot chowder - no salmon
lots of potato chunks, tasted a bit like salmon but massive scam as there are no chunks of salmon in it at all as stated on the tin. watery for nearly 4 quid! it was a treat too so now i am sad.
Spicy Parsnip Vegetarian Soup
What a sad state of affairs for a once great brand. I imagined that my review would be at odds with the majority opinion. Instead, I can only repeat what has been written more eloquently elsewhere.
Spicy Parsnip Vegetarian Soup a.k.a. peppery yellow water. A dreadful, overpriced experience.
SOUP OF THE DAY?
A very poor relation of its former self, this "Royal Game" soup has 4% claim that probably consists of the waste from food processed (by others) purchased at a very attractive price. The rest of the ingrdients are bulkers and taste enhancers. This family business has fallen foul (no pun intended!) of today's survival strategy dilemma of most manufacturing enterprises. Reduce costs or increase prices to survive and beat the competition. Reducing costs is possible, but quality should no be considered in this strategy. There are many ways to reduce costs, but they need sensitive and smart planning and execution that appears to be beyond the capabilities of most of today's modern managers. Unfortunately, this strategy is flawed and reduced quality eventually results in reduced customer numbers, lower margins and often further quality reductions to compensate. A vicious circle spiralling into company failure in the longer term. Increased efficiencies across the board (yes , includes the board of directors) and modest price increases in line with inflation is the only sound and sustainable strategy for continued success. Last time that I buy Baxters "soup"!
Cheap Tinned dog food is of better quality
Had a frey bentos steak & kidney pie.
It was unedible , had tubey bits of something in it! Bits of tough skin , i hope it was animal and not human ! But in all honesty it looked highly suspicious and disgusting, made me urge and put me off eating.
1 small chewy unedible bit of steak? And the rest was just a mushy mess of what appeared to be fleshy tubes, skin and mushy fleshy water.
Never will buy again.
Maybe someone ought to regulate these pies?? Ive seen tinned dog meat thats better quality. Quality control has clearly gone out the window and im highly suspicious weather it was parts of a cow in that pie or something more sinister.
Baxters Lentil & Bacon
Just tried a can of Baxter's lentil and Bacon, I've Never tried it before but thought id give it a go. I've been converted, Hands down the best tinned soup I've ever tasted!! Perfect for heating yourself up on a cold day. Bit piece crusty bread is a match made in heaven. Went back to my local shop and bought as many different soups as I could and I've not came across a bad soup yet.
cullen skink soup
opened tin of cullen skink and heated in pot, first mouthful was so salty .it was inedible also watery got in touch with baxters .and a nice man is sending me a£5 pound voucher ,i wont buy it again.irenex
Not really worth a star
Not really worth a star. First time in many years I bought a Baxters soup. Chicken Broth. No chicken I could tell. Looked like old washing up water with carrots and potato and didnt taste much different. YUK. Threw half of it away. All that Spey Bay water rubbish.. Revolting.
Tried a can of bentos cream of chicken…
Tried a can of bentos cream of chicken soup. Smells like cardboard and tastes like dishwater. Went straight down the drain after first sample. Never again
Very disappointed
I always really enjoyed Baxter soups but admittedly not used any for a couple if years. Bought the Garden Vegetabke and Highland Beef Broth recently and been very disappointed with both. Both were watery, the Garden veg was very bland and the Highland Beef with 3% beef in it apparently - well, I didn't see or taste any. Mainly potato & barley. Won't buy any more from this brand
Hot smoked salmon chowder. A terrible product.
I bought a can of their new hot smoked salmon chowder soup for lunch today. According to the can, it would contain "hearty chunks" of salmon. Well...
The largest "chunk" I found was about 1/8" across. Most of what was probably the salmon was no bigger than a little finger nail clipping.
This really is a very poor product and at £3.95 a can, it will be staying in the shelf in Sainsbury's from now on. I suspect that it won't be stocked by them for much longer if it's this quality.
Shame on Baxter's.
Baxters Hot Smoked Salmon Chowder.
Baxters Hot Smoked Salmon Chowder.
Contains no chunks of salmon as claimed on the tin. Contains only pieces of potato. Awful. Should be reported to Trading Standards. Doesn't justify one star. Rip off. Avoid.
Overpriced gloop.
I have recently tried their can of vegetables and lentil soup. It was tasteless and no better than a cheaper supermarket brand. Clearly lots of people aren't happy with this brand. Time to lower your prices.
Just got the usual reply from…
Just got the usual reply from baxter's.cannot believe it they actually think there soups are lovely when I given about 5 cans away everybody's told me it's peppery water.baxters try to tell me I must have got a bad batch or something I got 4 packs of 6 from Amazon all the same water in a can rubbish and they say it's made with genuine highland spring water they talk rubbish won't admit there soups are rubbish anyway I won't be buying anymore
Small portions and tasteless food from always arrogant and disrespectful staff.
One star. The subsidized food at the Baxters restaurant at Instron is a daily disappointment. The portions are incredibly small, and the quality is consistently poor. They using all the facilities in the company restaurant, with no bills to pay ,as all the costs are covered by Instron ,and getting more money from the company for each portion that they sell to the Instron employees, and you will expect some good food...but no, they are only focused on the money ,putting anything in the plates to get your money.Furthermore, the staff are rude and arrogant, making the entire experience unpleasant. There is nothing positive to say about this restaurant; it is a very bad experience every single day.
Recent purchases of Baxter’s beetroot…
Recent purchases of Baxter’s beetroot were very disappointing. I complained to Baxter’s as the size of the beetroot in the jars of sliced beets were on average the size of a male thumbnail. Customer services response was the jars go by weight not the size of the beetroot.
I now make my own which I am pleased to report tastes and looks better than Baxter’s.
An absolute joke! Steak and kidney pie
Used to love these back in the day (1970's / 1980's) they were jam packed with steak and kidney.... Wtf are you selling now? Stodgy suet filled with tasteless brown water. absolute disgrace and "Baxters" products shouldn't be on the shelves, an absolute piss take :(
Baxters Cream of Tomato soup YUK!
Baxters Cream of Tomato soup - shan't buy again - disgustingly sweet! 20 grams of sugar in one tin! I've had puddings with less sugar... No wonder there is an obesity crisis in this country. Absolutely no need for that amount of sugar: not needed as preservative as soup is in a tin. So disappointing as they used to make good soup.
Baxters soup is utter watered down…
Baxters soup is utter watered down garbage. Their premium soups are even worse. Avoid at all costs!
Meat in vegetarian product
I opened a can of Mediterranean tomato soup today for lunch, it’s APPARENTLY vegetarian as the tin says however I found 3 small sharp bones which gruesomely went into my mouth, I’ve been vegetarian for45 years and so this was beyond disgusting
Tried phoning their advertised helpline but gave up after over 30 minutes of being “in a queue”
I’m truly disgusted and will never buy their products again as not vegetarian as falsely advertised
Photos taken but can’t get through to Baxter’s
Baxters Pickled beetroot
Baxters Pickled beetroot is very undercooked. Please dont tell me it's fashionably so - Baxters have saved money by reducing the cooking time. Its actually crunchy. Horrible.
I thought it would be better than Tescos own brand. Its not and its more expensive so there is an expectation which it failed to meet.
Vinegar pretty tart as well.
Never buy it again.
