Poor processes and customer care

Had a long video call to discuss writing a new will after my husband passed away, which determined that a basic free will would not be appropriate as it was more complex than that. I agreed with this and awaited the follow up. Nothing for a month. When I chased them, Bequeathed informed me that they had lost my call transcript and I’d need to send them my information for the Free Basic Will again or I could schedule another call. I informed them that we had determined it was not a basic will and that I might as well go to a local solicitor to get my will prepared as it would be less time consuming. Only positive is that, as requested, they deleted my data promptly.
I chair a charity who pay for this service and we are very concerned that our members and beneficiaries may be having a similar experience.

If I could have sent no stars I would…

If I could have sent no stars I would have. Awful, absolutely awful…booked a zoom call to make wills with my wife. Arranged time off work etc. when we both attended the zoom meeting , bequeathed didn’t show up. Wow, how unprofessional! We rang them and the person we were supposed to be seeing wasn’t available. Complete disgrace when you’re providing a service for planning people’s future and their death. Still in shock here. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY …. If you think you’re going to save yourself anything….you actually won’t!

Didn't work for me

Didn't work for me. The interface is poor. If at any point in the strictly linear process you wish to stop and delete your data you can't.

Nothing positive to write

Nothing positive to write. Their on-line form has questions that are ambiguous. They don’t reply to chat enquiries and they don’t answer the ‘phone. So basically useless.

Avoid

When I had my first meeting I was told it could not carry on as they had not sent me all the information. Forward another month as that was the next available date. I had taken the morning off work but that never happened. Apparently I never confirmed the appointment even though they emailed me saying I had. I also had a confirmation text and email on the morning. I’ve now told them to destroy all my information. I think that was all they were ever after and don’t really want to help people.

Couldn't get the process started

The service was so poor that we had to withdraw.
The customer service team didn't seem to care that the solicitor they matched us with didn't bother to contact us to arrange the consultation and to complete the process.
Bequeathed refused to match us with a different solicitor.

Revolutionary way to make a will - What a brilliant company!

I have just completed my last will and testament with Bequeathed, Not only is the service free (with a very small donation to charity) but I received the best customer service from Jade McBride throughout the experience.

It was easy, quick and made the sometimes taboo subject of leaving your family looked after in the event of your death, accessible.

I can thoroughly recommend. Take a look at the service before you pay out £100s to a high street solicitor!
