I’m extremely disappointed with my…

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience purchasing a used 2022 Forest River Sunseeker from BestRV.

When we purchased the RV, their inspection/delivery person walked us through the rig. At no point were we told about any problems or leaks involving the black tank or plumbing in that area.

After getting the RV home, we discovered the compartment was full of water. I took the RV to an independent mechanic, who found that the plumbing elbow was leaking AND that the black tank itself had a crack. I have since had to spend approximately $900 repairing the black tank.

What makes me question the quality of BestRV’s inspection even more is that a cap/cover in the tank area had a clearly broken mounting tab or “ear.” Instead of being properly secured, it was basically just sitting there loose. If the RV had been thoroughly inspected before being sold, I have a very hard time understanding how something this obvious was missed.

I contacted BestRV about these problems. Monte, the manager, claimed that the black tank and elbow must have been damaged after I drove the RV off their lot.

I find that explanation very difficult to accept. I’m supposed to believe that I purchased the RV, drove it home, and somehow both the plumbing elbow and black tank became damaged during that drive — while there was also already a visibly broken and loose component in the same general area?

I understand that I purchased a used RV and I don't expect everything to be perfect. What I DO expect is a proper inspection and disclosure of significant problems that should reasonably be discovered before delivery.

Instead of BestRV taking responsibility or even acknowledging that these issues may have been missed during their inspection, I was essentially told they must have happened after I left.

I’m now out approximately $900 for repairs shortly after purchasing the RV.

Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that anyone purchasing a used RV from BestRV have it independently inspected by their own RV mechanic BEFORE signing the paperwork or driving it off the lot. Do not rely solely on the dealership’s inspection.
