Barker Beds is Unethical and Completely Incompetent
I have endured the absolute worst customer service experience of my life with this horrible company. I paid nearly $500 for an orthopedic bed for a senior rescue dog who desperately needs it, and never received it. Rather than take responsibility for their online ordering system's faulty programming, the so-called "customer service" rep at Barker Beds repeatedly told me:
(a) that the shipping error was my fault when it most certainly was not,
(b) there was nothing they could do about it, and believe me, they have NOT done ONE thing about the fact that I never received my order, including ship out a new order OR reimburse me, let alone try to find the missing package.
(c) instead of filing a claim with UPS as they immediately should have done, their lazy customer service rep told ME (the receiver! NOT the one who shipped the package) to deal with UPS myself. I spent several stress-filled hours on the phone and online trying to tracking down the package with UPS (something Barker Beds should have handled). When UPS eventually located my order (because of MY hard work and insistence) at a facility within a 20 minute drive of my home, I asked if I could drive there to get it, but UPS assured me it would be delivered to me the next day. But I never received it. Guess why? Because right before UPS was about to ship it to me, that customer service rep at Barker Beds decided to file a claim in which they had them ship that bed which I OWN BECAUSE I PAID FOR IT (No, Barker Bed, you are NOT the rightful owners. I paid for it. I am the owner.) back to Ohio to their facility. Now WHY would they do that when I called and TOLD them that UPS told me they would deliver it to me the next day? Ask yourself, WHY would they DELIBERATELY try to prevent someone who bought a bed and paid for it from receiving it? I communicated to the head of the so-called "customer service" (at Barker Beds, it should be "customer antagonizing department", that I had already filed a claim and the outcome. She KNEW that UPS had located my missing Barker Bed order, the so-called "customer service" (what an oxymoron!) staff had my order sent back to Ohio instead!!!!
Today, I am left with:
No product
No refund
Absolutely no accountability on the part of Barker Beds.
Just hours upon hours of stress and aggravation from completely incompetent so-called "customer service" representatives lead by a woman named Keisha who kept telling me there was nothing they could do to help me. I wish I had the refund for every time that woman said, "It's not our policy." So, let's clarify: Barker Bed's policy is to first place all of the blame onto the customer for THEIR mistake and then to make the customer pay for Barker Bed's incompetence. They put it all on ME, the customer, to find a lost UPS package that was delivered to the wrong address due to THEIR poor programming. For all practical purposes, this company STOLE $500 from me. Purchasing such an expensive bed for a needy animal was a huge sacrifice for me. And do you think Barker Beds CARES ONE IOTA about the animal that is suffering because of their carelessness?
Most other professional organizations would have long ago issued a refund or sent out another bed.
To make matters even worse, keep in mind that I was repeatedly blamed and told I entered the wrong address which is completely false!! I entered the accurate address, but their poorly designed online ordering form is obviously not working property.
Why didn't the "head of the so-called customer service team named Keisha" let me know that? SHE KNEW I spent nearly an entire day trying to track that bed down. But when she decided to file a claim and have the bed returned to them, did she let ME know? Of course not! Keisha couldn't be bothered! Then, when I called and spoke to a so-called customer service rep named Aurora that the bed was no longer in my city but headed to hers, she said she would “look into it and call me back.” Of course, she NEVER called me back after promising to help me. When I got tired of waiting, I finally called her again many hours later.... and guess what she said, "Well... there's nothing I can do.... I don't have authority to do anything, so that's why I didn't call you back."
I was literally in shock. I felt like they were repeatedly punching me in the stomach and then laughing about it!
Completely and utterly DISGUSTING treatment of the people who pay their salaries!
This company took my money and has done NOTHING -- NOT ONE THING to fix THEIR mistake. If you value your time, your money, and your sanity, do not order anything from Barker Beds. I personally believe they are entertained by causing suffering. And that is who Barker Beds is.
