I purchased the super soft silicone dual driver ear buds in early 2026. I primarily use them on a motorcycle with a helmet for short and prolonged rides (10+ hr. days).

These are freaking awesome and I know what I'm talking about. I use and sell in-ear monitors professionally for the music industry. I chose the dual driver units, but the single driver units are really great as well.

They are comfortable all day long. Intelligibility on COMs is great. Music, phone calls, and books all sound wonderful while riding and since I don't have to turn my Cardo up very loud now, the battery lasts much longer.

Stop wondering if you should get them. If you spend any reasonable amount of time traveling on a motorcycle, these are a wonderful investment. You won't regret it!

Lastly, their customer service is great. I've worked with a few different people on their staff, but mostly with Stone. He's great. Give him a call and order yours now!

I have used Big Ear in the past I have always had a good experience with their product! My first set of ear protection, for the shooting range did not fit as it should, but the company did not delay remolding, re-fitting and re-creating what was needed. Now they are a perfect fit! I turned to them again when I needed adapters that would fit my electronic earpro. This time it was a perfect fit on the first go round, even using the updated molds on file!

The process is easy, the customer service is responsive. I will say that the shipping time is rather lengthy, so expect longer turnaround times, but the product in the end is perfect.

We, the happy Big Ear customers, the unhappy customers, and future potential first time customers, have an obligation to record our Big Ear experiences. I read every response that has been posted to date. As an entrepreneur I particularly love to read the “complaint” based input. As a consumer I prefer to know how unhappy experiences became unhappy experiences. We as consumers can learn more from these thoughts than from all of the 5 Star reports in my opinion. These folks that have taken the time to stop and write-in in order to get their message to management are valuable. It gives us as the consumer serious specific issues to consider before we purchase.
Considering we (the community of us interested in these products for aviation, biking, ear protection for shooting, etc etc) deserve to be exposed to the great opinions and the poor opinions. My hat is off to Big Ear management for airing all of their laundry.
Having said that, you already know I’ve given them 5 stars and to be sure you know how strongly I feel, I’d give’em 6 stars if I could!
I’ve been purchasing Big Ear products for 15 ish years. I use them often for gifts. The recipients have an “opportunity” to use a custom made high quality premium product, so they’re always great gifts.
Sure, there have been hiccups. I’ve never met the Hoods but I sense that delivering “custom” one of a kind product through the mail has its challenges. With Big Ear you have an excellent chance in obtaining a superior product. If you flirt with going into this market with mass produced instruments, in some cases assembled by machines, you may eliminate your chance to experience the best of the best. High mediocrity can be the best you have a shot at. Here you at least have a chance of securing excellent custom hardware.
Customer feedback seems to indicate love or hate. Other similar products on the market have a lot of 3 & 4 star ratings. A lot of mediocrity. Not Big Ear!
I have a daughter in broadcasting who reports into a microphone in stadiums with 80,000 plus screaming fans with music blaring throughout the stadium. She can’t grab some overpriced “off the shelf” set. She has to have custom made ear protection and sound clarity.
If your pocket book will allow you the opportunity to experience the highest quality on the market order your Big Ear product and if it doesn’t meet your need day one, contact the Hoods ASAP.
I realize this sounds like a sponsorship but I motorcycle zig zagging across the country every year and I have thousands of hours of quality clean sound coming in and road and motor noise blocked out.

Working with Stone has been great. I'm on to my second pair of custom plugs with BugEar. I've tried NUMEROUS different brands of ear plugs to use under my helmet while riding. These are my go-tos when riding farther than the local store.

The process was explained very well instructions were very clear my first set lasted around 15 years hope my new set will last as long .

Got some custom CEP ear molds for my flight helmet and they fit great. Much better noise reduction and very comfortable.

Had been using speakers in my helmet and not only could I not hear, I could hear the wind noise for days after a long ride. We took a 7 day motorcycle trip right after I received them and was amazed how good I could hear my music and intercom with no wind noise. Love them!

I work around running Turbines most of the year and struggle to hear people speak on the deck. My ears would be ringing after work all the time. I called greg and he hooked me up with exactly what I needed. I was skeptical about doing my own molds but their videos walk you through it, plus they give you enough product for multiple tries. After wearing them for a couple of months now I couldn't be happier. They are comfortable, I don't struggle to hear people talking and they block the harmful decibel levels. Worth every penny.

The CEPs fit great and the staff are great to work with!

I have 2 Bose proflight headsets. One for work as an airline pilot in the 737 and one for my personal plane. Each has the big ear custom molds on them. Very satisfied with them. The Bose ear pieces did not work well. I constantly had to adjust them during flight. The Big Ears stay in place an md I forget they are there, even during 4 hr + flights. They are a little stiff at first, but after a few hours flying with them they feel great.

I’m on my second set of Big Ear plugs. This most recent set was to help with noise on the pool deck during indoor swim meets. Had a couple of coaches who liked to wolf whistle!

This time around, the whole process was remote. Used a mold making kit, which was simple and mailed it off. The resulting ear plugs fit perfect and do a great job.

I use these when driving with top off the Jeep, at the range, and will be using them for college swim meets.

Highly recommend the ear plugs and the company. Can’t go wrong!

This is my second set of ear plugs. I use them everyday. They fit well and are comfortable. Would recommend them to anyone.

Great product, friendly customer service, and honest prices for the benefits their products provide to a person's hearing health.

The whole process, from getting information about the right product to choose, to ordering the desired product, was seamless. They personally reached out via phone to discuss things with me and, after that, Big Ear sent out the molds in no time.

Once they received the molds back from me, they immediately informed me about the whole process and especially the waiting times I could expect.

I hereby quote, for June 2026: "It is usually a 35-40 business-day turnaround time from receiving the molds. However, the build time can change at any time, due to this being a custom-molded product."

In my case, they informed me it was going to take a little longer during the above-specified time window, and I was completely fine with that.

Personal take: If you're in a rush and cannot afford to wait, don't complain if it takes a tad longer than what you hoped for. They've made it crystal clear from the beginning. I understand everyone's different, but transparency is definitely on their side, and they certainly didn't try to hide anything from me during my experience with them.

With this being said, I can happily recommend Big Ear and will be back in the future.

First, the product is super! I have started using the big ear in 2006 and am still riding and using them. I have had 2 sets, the first one gave me almost 10 years of service before I broke the connecting wire (because I took off my helmet the wrong way and snagged it. That is my fault). I purchased a fresh set and continue to wear them anytime I ride. Yes, ALWAYS!! Even if I do not power them up. Not only is the product awesome, but the service is also superior to anything I have encountered. You call, talk to a human, and get answers right away. Seriously, I would never ride without these in my ears, and this IS the product I choose for that purpose. Thank you Big Ear for making my ride safe and more fun.

Purchased for use while riding motorcycles. 5 days after receiving I departed on a 16 day 4000+ mile trip. Some days I had my ear plugs in for 6 or 7 hours, no ear pain. Yes they are expensive but what is your hearing worth, I wish I had purchased years ago. These are the best I have used and you can swap the filter so you can use them for anything from shooting to a concert.

I got my first set of Big Ears almost 20 years ago. I used Big Ear in Iraq and nearly 100,000 miles on two bikes. My dog killed them, Stone brought them back to life. I upgraded 4 years ago and these new ones are so small and clear sounding i'm a customer for life!

Great product, I use their dual filtered custom ear plugs every day at work and have for the last ~3 years. I fly helicopters and they are absolutely great for aviation in general. They are marketed as specifically for motorcycles but work great if you need to be able to make out what people are saying on radios in a loud environment. They bring down the ambient noise level just enough that even if you have a really bad radio you can figure out what’s being said. The custom molds make them comfortable all day, and they fit fine under Bose/lightspeed headsets.

Just recently contacted them with questions about maintenance and grabbed an extra pair just in case, appreciate their customer service as well!

The Big Ear team has been great to work with. They are able to come onsite to our manufacturing location to fit employees for custom ear plugs right at work. The ear plugs work great and everyone who has a pair likes them. I would highly recommend the product and working with the Big Ear team!
