Reviewers had a great experience with this company. Many customers are happy with the app, finding it easy to use and intuitive, and appreciate being rewarded for walking their dogs. They enjoy the fun and engaging aspects of the app, which encourages them to be more active with their pets. Several people highlight the significant rewards they have earned, often exceeding the subscription cost, and value the additional features like activity trackers. However, some people were dissatisfied with the recent changes to the app, particularly the introduction of a subscription model and perceived decrease in value for money. They mention issues with the app not always working correctly, failing to record walks or distances, and the mapping function being inaccurate. Some users feel the rewards offered with the free version are no longer worthwhile, and that the premium subscription is not cost-effective for their needs.

Worth the upgrade!

Been using the Biscuit App for over a year now and love the fact I’m being rewarded for something I’d be doing anyway… walking my chocolate lab!

I was a bit disappointed when they announced a subscription service as it meant that those using the free option would take a long time to build up rewards and have access to less options.

After using the free option for a couple of weeks I decided to upgrade and paid the annual fee upfront which was slightly less than paying the monthly fee. I can honestly say I’m happy I did, after 3 months I’ve already made more in rewards than the subscription amount so anything now is a bonus

The team are also very helpful if you have any issues which is great

Hi Izzy,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We’re really glad Biscuit helped keep you motivated, and we completely understand your feelings about the recent changes. The old version of Biscuit wasn’t sustainable long term, so moving to subscriptions was the only way we could keep improving and supporting the app.

We’re still committed to making every step count for you and your dog, and we’ll keep working to add more value to the experience. Your feedback means a lot, and we’ll take it on board as we continue to grow.

Hi Kaherine,

We really appreciate you leaving your feedback. We know it’s frustrating when something you use daily changes, and we didn’t make the decision to introduce subscriptions lightly. The old model simply wasn’t sustainable, and this change allows us to keep Biscuit running, growing, and adding new features.

You can still use Biscuit for free on the Basic plan, and if you choose Premium, you’ll unlock faster earn rates and extra features. Either way, we’re here to make your walks and rewards more enjoyable.

Thank you for being part of the Biscuit journey.

All the best,

Hi Lar,
Thank you for leaving us a review and for being part of the Biscuit journey. We’re happy to hear you found Biscuit brilliant before, and we’re really sorry to learn that recent changes haven’t felt like an improvement for you.

The updates were made to help us keep building more features for the long run, but we completely understand it can take a little time to adjust. Your feedback is invaluable, and we’ll keep working hard to make Biscuit even better. Hi Michelle,

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re really glad you were able to get your PitPat device included with your Biscuit Plus subscription, and we hope it helps make tracking your dog’s activity even more rewarding.

That said, we completely understand your frustration with compatibility. PitPat is a partner product and while we work closely with them, we don’t have control over how their app runs on different devices or what Apple and Google allow in their app stores.

We’ll keep doing our best to make sure your Biscuit experience runs smoothly, and your walks keep counting towards more rewards. If you’d like a hand with anything specific, just drop us a line at support@biscuitpetcare.com and we’ll be happy to help.

Used Biscuit for years

Used Biscuit for years but it's got progressively worse.

Very slow to save walks and often the GPS tracking doesn't show the route which never used to be the case. Lots of quality of life features still missing like starting a walk without signal (it's no use anywhere slightly remote), or recognising excessive speed (accidentally recorded plenty of motorway 'walks').

The introduction of a paid Premium subscription gives 5x the number of biscuits earned but they reduced the free amount by 5x too, and plagued it with ads.

The app simply isn't good enough to hold it's own without earning regular rewards anymore.

Response Edit: GPS and mobile signal are independent systems. It is possible to record GPS location data to a device and then sync the data later. Apps exist with this, you can view your location on Google Maps without any signal, and my watch can track my route to upload later.

Earning at a 'slower pace' is an understatement. 240 days to get many of the £10 vouchers. Having the app on likely costs more in power than that.

I don't disagree that the old way was unsustainable. I understand it is used to entice users, but I stand by my point that the app isn't good enough to stand alone.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. We really value long-time Biscuit users, and we want to clear up a couple of things you’ve raised.

On the walk's side, all apps that rely on GPS, not just Biscuit, need some level of signal to record routes. That’s the nature of how location tracking works, so what you’re seeing in remote areas isn’t unique to us. We’ve also made improvements to speed up saving walks and make tracking more reliable, even in lower-signal spots.

As for ads, Biscuit on the free plan is not “plagued” with them. You’ll only see one ad after a walk is completed, so the core experience stays focused on you and your dog.

On biscuits, you can absolutely keep using Biscuit for free. You’ll still earn rewards on the Basic plan, just at a slower pace. Premium unlocks the full earning potential, along with extra features and no ads. That change helps us keep building and improving while still offering a solid free option.

You mentioned the old way, but how sustainable would that really have been? If everything had stayed the same, how would the Biscuit app still be around today? Subscriptions mean we can keep growing and improving for the long run, while still keeping a free version available to everyone.

We know change can feel like a step back, but Biscuit’s aim hasn’t shifted: making every walk count and turning healthy habits into real rewards. We’ll keep improving the app so that time out with your dog feels rewarding in every way.

Warm regards,
The Biscuit Team 🐾

---------------

Hi again,

Thanks for coming back to us and expanding on your points. You’re absolutely right that GPS and mobile signal are different systems. Google Maps does let you see your location without a signal because it downloads and stores map tiles in advance. But recording and syncing full walks in fitness and tracking apps is a different challenge, since that data needs to be processed, stored, and matched securely in real-time. Some smartwatches handle this offline because they’re built as dedicated activity trackers, but phone-based apps like Biscuit rely on continuous processing and background services, which need connectivity to work smoothly.

On rewards, even on Basic, you’re still earning for every walk, and with Biscuit Plus (Premium) the value is far higher than the cost of a subscription. For the price of a coffee a month, you can earn back much more in vouchers simply by walking your dog, something you’re already doing .

You mentioned that the app isn’t good enough to stand alone. We’d really love to hear what would make it “good enough” in your eyes. From our perspective, Biscuit already offers a lot of unique value; there’s no other app that rewards you for walking your dog, building habits, and giving back at the same time.

We know not every feature hits the mark for everyone, but our aim is always to add more value, not less. Your input genuinely helps us shape what comes next, so thank you for challenging us on this.

Warm regards,
The Biscuit Team 🐾

great app, even better customer service

This app is amazing! It encourages you to take good care of your pet and offers loads of great rewards. I made a mistake and ordered the wrong vouchers, but customer service was understanding and able to refund me. Thanks to the app, we are going to be able to have one last family meal out and make a special memory with our dog before he passes. couldn't recommend enough.

was a nice app, not anymore

It was a nice app, and I recommend to my friends and family. Now we all stop using altogether. Your greed has made this app not fun anymore. You could have make the free route like it used to be and premium gets premium perks, instead, you cut down the perks of free route. That is definitely pushing away existing client, Marketing 101 you know right? Of course there will be some willing to pay premium but they will walk out one by one due to not really worth it in the long run.

Hi SL,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. We completely understand that changes to something you have enjoyed for a long time can be frustrating, especially if it feels like you are getting less for free.

Biscuit still works brilliantly on the free plan; you can track walks, earn biscuits, and enjoy healthy habits with your dog. The difference is that Premium now gives you a 5x faster biscuit earn rate, no ads, extra perks, and more frequent rewards. Many of our community members find that the small monthly cost more than pays for itself, with some earning back their subscription in vouchers and still coming out ahead .

This decision has nothing to do with greed. No app can remain sustainable the way we were running it before, and introducing a Premium option allows us to keep Biscuit growing and improving, while continuing to add features and rewards that people love.

We have also made sure there are still plenty of ways to enjoy Biscuit without paying, and if your pet is insured with Waggel, Premium is completely free .

We will keep listening, improving, and making sure Biscuit brings real value, whether you are on Basic or Premium.

Warm regards,
The Biscuit Team 🐾

This was a really good app

This was a really good app. Until the owner got greedy. Now it’s a paid app which does not work as well. It’s just not worth it. It was all about the dogs health.
Now it’s just about advertising. I thought it was a good idea to take the waggle insurance out. Which I’m going to cancel as it’s just not worth it. And I shall be deleting the app…

Hi Richard,

Thanks for sharing how you’re feeling. We completely understand how frustrating it can be when something you’ve loved seems to change. But we want to be really honest with you, because it’s important.

This shift has absolutely nothing to do with greed. We started Biscuit with one goal, to make caring for your dog feel simple, joyful, and rewarding. But over time, we realised that the way we were doing things just couldn’t carry on. The cost of delivering a free service with meaningful features for every dog, every day, became unsustainable.

Introducing Premium helps us keep building and supporting features that genuinely improve your dog’s wellbeing, like health reminders, enhanced rewards, and richer activity insights. And the free version of Biscuit still offers loads of value: biscuit earning, walk tracking, and a space to care for your dog, all at no cost .

We’re still all about your dog’s health. That hasn’t changed. It never will. What we have done is make sure the Premium plan delivers extra tools and benefits that go further, while the Basic plan stays useful and accessible to everyone .

As for Waggel, if your policy is active and properly linked, your pet will get Premium automatically. If that’s not showing, we’d love to help you sort it out. Just reach out to us at support@biscuitpetcare.com so we can check things on our end.

We really hope you’ll give it another look. Because we’re still here, making every step count, for you and your dog.

Warm regards,
The Biscuit Team.

I used to love the biscuit app

I used to love the biscuit app. I have had the app for a few years and unfortunately it has got progressively worse. I’m very suspect of the 5 star reviews amongst the recent 1 star reviews. It simply isn’t good value for money and I’m surprised to hear others saying otherwise. I have deleted my app and unsubscribed from emails so sadly even if Biscuit do take on board the negative feedback they’ve received, I will be long gone and not returning.

Hi there,

Thanks so much for sharing how you feel. I’m really sorry to hear you’ve decided to leave Biscuit after being with us for so long. I want to be upfront with you about why we made these changes and what Biscuit Plus actually offers.

I completely get that moving to a subscription model has felt like a big shift. The old way of running Biscuit just wasn’t sustainable at all, and no company can keep giving away high-value rewards indefinitely without asking for some support in return. We had to find a way to make sure Biscuit could keep going for everyone in the long term.

You mentioned that you don’t think it’s a good value. I want to gently push back on that. Biscuit Plus isn’t just about earning a few extra Biscuits each month. It includes things like the free PitPat device for eligible subscribers, which alone costs £50 at retail. That alone covers the whole cost of the subscription. That’s a significant saving on its own, on top of the increased biscuit earn rate and removal of ads in the app. For many users, that alone more than covers the cost of the subscription.

But the important thing is, the free plan is still there for anyone who doesn’t want to pay. You can keep tracking your walks and earning Biscuits at a slower rate without paying a penny. The subscription is just there as an option for those who want to unlock more features and rewards .

We know these changes won’t be for everyone, and it’s sad to see you go. But your feedback really does matter to us. We’re always trying to do better and find the right balance between staying sustainable and offering great value. If you ever change your mind or just want to talk more about it, you can always reach us at support@biscuitpetcare.com.

Wishing you and your dog many happy, healthy walks ahead.

Warm regards,
The Biscuit Team

Gone to the dogs... Quite literally.

I used to promote biscuit to all my friends/family with dogs as I thought it was a fantastic model however I have just deleted the app after 6 weeks of changes to only really support paying customers.

While I appreciate every app company wants to earn money, I feel biscuit have really damaged their relationship with lots of app users by changing the free version so much.

The introduction to premium shouldn't have changed the existing offer, but made premium more attractive. £3.99 is not a cheap subscription, and many of the benefits are only available if you take out insurance with their specified company.

There has been many occasions that the app hasn't worked properly, has not found my GPS on a walk & hasn't tracked any data, which could have all been forgiven with a free app.

Unfortunately you've ruined something really fantastic & will have lost a lot of users I imagine.

Could have been a great move with more thought & appreciation to your long-term users.

Hi Lauren,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback. We really appreciate you being so open about your experience, and I’m truly sorry to hear how disappointed you feel.

I completely understand why these changes have felt frustrating. It was never our goal to make anyone feel shut out or undervalued. The reality is, the old way of running Biscuit just wasn’t sustainable at all. No company can keep giving away that level of rewards without any support—it simply couldn’t carry on.

That said, I completely take your point that we could have handled the rollout better. Adjusting the free plan to make the whole app sustainable has been a big shift, and it’s clear it affected our long-time users most. We really didn’t want to put everything behind a paywall. The free plan is still there, so you can keep tracking walks and earning Biscuits, just at a slower rate. Premium is there for those who want to unlock faster rewards and extra features .

We also hear you on value. £3.99 a month is still a real cost, and we want people to feel they’re getting good benefits in return. Insurance-linked Premium is an added option for those who have it, but it’s not required to use Premium at all.

Regarding the app issues you mentioned with GPS and tracking, we know that it hasn’t always worked perfectly, and we’re continuing to work hard to make it more reliable. It’s something we take seriously because we don’t want anyone feeling let down, especially when they’re trying to do something positive with their dog.

Your feedback is incredibly helpful for us to do better. We’re listening, and we’re committed to making Biscuit the best it can be for everyone. If there’s anything else you’d like to share or if we can help with anything at all, please do drop us a line at support@biscuitpetcare.com.

Wishing you and your dog many happy, healthy walks ahead.

Have used this app for years and loved it ,unfortunately they have changed everything I used to get 50 points a day now it’s 5 I would be lucky to get one voucher a year !

It’s not worth subscribing as costs as much as the vouchers you would earn ,I have my insurance so also wouldn’t want to go with their partnered insurance company .

Very dissatisfied and disappointed .Will be deleting this App.

Not worth it! Greed has ruined this app!
I used to love this app until they started introducing the subscription and making it extremely difficult to earn a voucher. You’ll need to walk an hour a day everyday for about six and a half months to earn a £10 voucher. I won’t ruin my phone battery life for this. You shouldn’t either! The app is full of ads now. They’ll lose many users. I’ll be deleting the app after using my points! Extremely disappointed!

Was a great app, been using it for years, getting vouchers was a highlight for what I already do - walk my dogs! Appalling now, as the amount of biscuits earnt have dropped to 10, I used to get 50 as have 2 dogs, subscription is not worth it! Have deleted app as no longer will use it, there are other apps out there that genuinely reward you , shame this one changed!

In reply to your reply to my review
1. I said it costs £80 for 2 dogs . This is not more than it actually -well 1p more 🙄( as you suggested )
2. I did email you and got some sub standard response
3. I don't want or need an activity tracker . I have a Tractive gps monitor for both my dogs already!
4. I don't want waggel dog insurance . I have Agria already - much better! I checked the reviews off waggel . Not good !

So . I'll be deleting this his app after buying my next voucher , as I believe are many of your loyal users . Seems to be a strange business move . Perhaps if you'd charged £10 per customer you may have made some money but with no customers I doubt you'll last . A shame really, as I really enjoyed using your app
