Its been a pleasure working with Steve and Bishop & Sons Construction. From start to finish you work in partnership with Steve to ensure that everyone is agreed on what is to be done, kept up to date of progress, informed and agree any changes to design/build and all are happy to sign off the completion of works

At the start we discussed the requirements at length and then are given a contract on what is to be done, clearly layout each step of the process, payments and total expected cost/timing. This was very reassuring to know the timings and costs up front.

During the building work we had to make a few changes (its an old cottage so a few surprises) and Steve couldnt have been more helpful in going through the options. His vast experience and skillsets meant we always found a solution to any unexpected challenges which everyone was happy with.

At the completion of the work, Steve always make sure you are happy with everything and ensures the area is clean, tidy and all residual rubbish is removed. He is also happy throughout to answer any questions and listen to suggestions on the building work.

I would highly recommend and if the needs arise, I will have no hesitation to use this company's services again.

I contacted Steve as I was planning to have my garden re-landscaped and I had been extremely impressed by a similar job he had done at my neighbour next door.

This was the best decision I have made! Steve has so much experience and knowledge, and the quality of the work he does is to a really high standard. Nothing is left behind, the grass was removed, the garden levelled and the tiling was done to perfection. Steve planned everything so well like the cables for the electrics, the symmetry in the garden, and turned it into an amazing garden, which is mind blowing. I am so, so pleased with the results and the quality of the work.
Steve also tidied everything, took all the rubbish away. He also came back to complete a few little jobs that couldn't be sorted at that time (like fitting a water feature that I ordered but arrived 2 months later).

In addition, Steve is the nicest guy you can hope for. He is very kind and friendly, and so helpful ! He is very chatty and loves his tea! :)

I will not look for any other builder and will use Steve again. I am already planning of having an alleyway paved and asked Steve to do it.

This was the second project we enlisted Bishop & Sons for - this one for more than 6 months of extensive work.

Externally - they dug out a new patio with retaining walls, repaved the side of the house, raked out and repointed (in lime mortar) the 350 year old rear of the house, along re-roofing it and replacing windows throughout. They also did significant groundwork, reworking drainage and an old coal chute into the cellar

Internally, they stripped out and made good the kitchen and hallway, re-tiling and fitting a new bespoke kitchen (that we supplied). They also did the same with our utility room, transforming all 3 of the rooms in the process. In particular, I'd higlight the quality of internal carpentry needed and delivered in order to fit bespoke units to a property with no right angles anywhere!

Steve kept us up to speed throughout on progress, and helped us navigate through the inevitable obstacles that come with a restoration of an old property. He also managed several subcontractors to ensure all elements of the work was completed to standard

The quality of the work is high, the price is reasonable and most importantly Steve + team are very respectful and always look to minimise the impact on the client whilst work takes place. We'd work with them again in a heartbeat and are happy to show any prospective clients the work done if requested.

We had a brilliant experience using Bishop & Sons for our bungalow extension and garden landscaping. They are a friendly, helpful and professional family business, Steve and Sam were a pleasure to liaise with on all aspects of the projects from start to finish.

Steve was brilliant, from first contact to completion of the job. Kept me informed of any small issues along the way, was tidy, hard working and completed on time and on budget. We're going to use him again on further building projects and have recommended him to others in the village.

Steve and Luke did an amazing job in my garden and it now looks like I live in the Mediterranean! From start to finish they were very efficient, turned up every day (including Saturdays!), worked hard and tidied up to ensure everything was kept in order. They had a deadline to meet as I was having a garden party, which they met and delivered something that people said had the wow factor! I would have no hesitation in recommending Bishop & Sons for your building work. I have already asked them to install my new patio doors so will be very happy to work with them again.

On the recommendation of my neighbour, I contacted Bishop and sons regarding several small repair jobs that needed doing around my house and garden.
From the first contact I received courteous and prompt responses. The work was carried out efficiently and to a high standard. I had the impression that this company takes pride in doing a good job, whether it is big or small.

Steve and his team carefully removed old cement render from our Grade II house and expertly replaced it with three coats of lime render. We were kept fully informed throughout the work, which was performed cheerfully and at a very fair price.

Needed my drive resurfacing and a front step replacing. Steve came and made an assessment of the work required then sent me a written quote. A date was agreed and work started as scheduled. The job was finished to a high standard with constant updates and discussions to ensure everything was done to my satisfaction. I would highly recommend this company. They are honest, hardworking and good value.

Once again Steve did a top quality job and stuck to the schedule and the quoted price.

Steve put in a downstairs cloakroom for us, very good work, really pleased with the end result. Steve has previously done decking, loft hatch, back gate etc all great work.

We continue to be pleased with the work from this company, who were recommended to me by my place of work.

Part 1 was on a back wall, an old Flemish bond brick boundary wall in poor repair. A pre-visit was undertaken where the expertise and geological knowledge of the worker became apparent. The quotation was clear, unambiguous and acceptable - maybe you are paying a little more than you might get elsewhere (we in fact found their quote the cheapest) but the quality of work was excellent: consistent hard work on site; neat get in and clean up; stuck to schedule as agreed.

Communications from their office manager were, and continue to be, clear, polite and professional. Long lead in times only reflect the lead worker's skill desired by others.

End product looks lovely; problems mid-job consulted on and potential solutions agreed.

The company continue to work for us over the next year on fixing the stone rubble front wall to our street-facing cottage. A casual outside witness may feel the work is slow and minimal in result; but we have seen how complex some of the stone cutting and fitting is. And our interior damp problems seem to be fading out.

If you want local expertise and a good job done, this company has my full recommendation to you.

Steve re-plastered our kitchen and did an excellent job. We highly recommend him for his reliability and ability, his attention to detail and cleanliness.

Steve came highly recommended by a neighbour and from the very first meeting Steve openly discussed our requirements and came up with a very reasonable quote. Even a last minute change of mind what we wanted did not phase him with a very quick re-quote. He works hard and is always cheerful when explaining his days work, workmanship is fabulous, leaves the garden as he found it with all rubble and soils removed. Couldn't recommend Steve enough, an honest, hard working individual who delivers a first class product.

Steve is an excellent builder who is very knowledgeable in his field. We would not consider using anyone else for work on our property. He is 100% reliable, trustworthy and efficient. Steve is extremely hard working and very customer focussed - nothing is too much trouble and he will always give honest opinions. It is not often that you have a builder who actually comes on all of the dates discussed!
