Lara is inspirational and motivated me to "put my best foot forward". She has an all-rounder approach to board preparedness and readiness. The course content is super, the interactions and the connections made through networking is invaluable. She has a wealth of experience which inspires confidence in me. I completed a course with Black on Board to help me get my first Board role after four unsuccessful attempts. It was extremely informative and helped me to successfully secure my first role! I cannot recommend this enough.

Lara's training course is a MUST for anyone wanting to progress their career into a NED role. The sessions are great, at the right level, with lots of time included to ask questions, along with homework and 1-2-1 support afterward.

Wow wow wow, where and how do I begin to write this review.
Meeting Lara was one of the best things that happened to our organisation, it had always been a struggle to find the right board of directors, until I met Lara. Suddenly everything made sense, she's clear, concise and most importantly, she worked in a very Dyslexic friendly way.

With WhatsApp reminders, for meetings, follow up with phone call. Within a short space of time, we had recruited 3 board of directors.

The process was very smooth and extremely professional.

It's already established that Lara knows her craft. The qualities about Lara I most admire are her dedication, passion, committment and no nonsense approach to getting you board ready. We recruited blackonboard.co.uk when we had expanded our board at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre earlier in 2022, and wanted to equip our new trustees with the best grounding we could about their role and responsibilities. Both the ongoing lockdown and a limited budget presented a challenge, but with Lara Oyedele's impressive attention to detail and commitment, we were able to overcome both! She provided us with excellent pre-reading material for our new trustees, and made herself available by phone for anyone who had queries or concerns. This was followed by interactive online sessions which focussed on exploring the board's role and behaviours, and included a number of exercises prompting discussion of good and bad governance practice. Lara clearly has wide-ranging board experience and wisdom, and was especially adept at understanding and delivering on our brief. The feedback from our board was universally positive - and what's more, they enjoyed it too!

Last Summer I met Laura following her advert of a short zoom session she had planned called 'How to Change Linkedin for Board'.

I was new to the functionalities of Linkedin and displayed my profile in the corporate fashion for employment.

Laura took me and 5 others through her short session one Saturday morning. She patiently demonstrated how to present our current Linkedin profiles and how they need to be amended for board member searches.

In November I applied for an unremunerated board position with a Housing Association, the largest provider of supported housing for veterans in the UK.

Prior to my interview Lara spent some one to one time with me on the telephone preparing me for the interview. It was time well spent as I was successful.

Lara is well connected. I have seen her in action via the Chartered Institute of Housing and other guest lists.
