Unhappy with Black Stones Estates – deposit issue and lack of refund

I am very disappointed with my experience with Black Stones Estates. I was pressured to pay a deposit before I had received my tax return information for 2025 and 2026, as because previous tax return was not enough.
After reconsidering, I changed my mind and contacted them within 24 hours to cancel. Despite informing them quickly, they have refused to refund my deposit.
This is especially disappointing because their email stated that if the matter did not go ahead, the deposit would be refunded. I feel that this promise was not honoured and that my concerns were not handled fairly.
I would advise others to be very careful do not pay deposit
