WOW!!Blinds.com scammed me out of the…

WOW!!Blinds.com scammed me out of the sale price!!! Recently paid for blinds as a gift for my relative who purchased a new home. I talked with a sales representative. He gave me an estimate of what the blinds would cost and someone from their company gave them the more expensive product!!!It cost me $1000.00 more. There is nothing I can do to rectify this situation other than posting on this site about what happened. Please stay away from this company. The company is not would you like to work with and there are better places online. I have never given a review before-let alone a bad review. TRUST is very important to me.

Yikes- is this is a scam?

Yikes. Ordering from the Canadian version of blinds.ca These folks mislead me on their delivery times. I don't think I'll ever get my blinds. I tried to cancel my order but they basically told me to go f*** myself. Horrid company.

Scammers!

Do not buy from this place! Ordered a blind November 13th with an expected ship date of November 21st. They charged my credit card immediately. December 8th it still shows in production. Took 6 tries to get a person by calling customer service. 35 minutes waiting to hear the manufacturer does not have the order. They can’t reorder but have to refund me (5-7 business days) and then expect me to reorder (at a higher price) so giving them more money without receiving my refund, and then it’s expected to be 3 more weeks. Atrociously bad customer service!!!

So not Canadian!

The website may say ".ca" but this is not a Canadian company. Placed an order and at the very last screen of payment I was charged a "border fee". No idea this was charge going to happen and the best part when I look on their website in bold text it says NO DUTY or CUSTOM CHARGES (see for yourself on their site under order-policies). By the time I actually realized it was too late to cancel the order.
I still haven't gotten my blinds. Had to reach out to even get a tracking number. Today, Aug 25 they package finally shipped. It will be another 8 days for estimated delivery. 5-6 weeks turn around not acceptable times

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. Through the chat, I cancelled an order within 45 seconds of ordering it. I didn't realize there was a border fee. I was assured that the cancellation had gone through and I would receive my refund within 5-7 business days. I took a pic of that part. Two days later, I receive email saying my order was in production! i reach out again through chat, explain their error and attach the pic. Agent says it's missing the order confirmation number which would be at the very top of the chat. There is physically no way for me to take a pic of both the confirmation of refund AND the order number. i ask for supervisor, she gives me phone number. Then , she says call back in four hours and they should be able to cancel the order as the supplier hadn't received my order yet. How can it be in production then?! I am offended at the insinuation I am fraudulent, plus completely unimpressed at this refusal to make right their own error. You can buy elsewhere. Blilnds.ca: train your people better and connect your data management systems as suddenly, there's "no record" of my previous chat. Am I using a different computer? No. Nice try, again blaming the customer for your mistakes.

Overpriced 'maple-washing'

Prices are high, delivery is slow and this is appears to be an American company using a dot-ca website. I do not recommend this vendor and would not use them again. Also, they do not publish negative reviews (it says so right in the "terms and conditions") so beware of ratings.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! They are an American company using .ca. Ordered 17 blinds, received one within 2 weeks, the other 16 have not arrived in 4 weeks! There is a reason why they offer free shipping, because the shipping company they use offers them the cheapest rate, and your blinds with take the "milk run". Blinds come from California, get shipped to New Jersey, then to Indiana, then to New England, then to Wyoming, then to Oregon... where it will sit forever trying to clear customs.

Very poor shipping

I waited eight (8!) weeks for them to deliver a small handheld remote control. It was advertised as brand new but had a fingerprint on the screen. Also, after waiting all that time to open my blind, the item price dropped substantially but no rebate was offered. Very poor service. Not recommended.

Slow go with this company

I ordered a few samples from Blinds.ca a few weeks ago. After a week and a half I got an email telling me I should have my samples which I had Not. I contacted their customer service and a well spoken lady told me she would expedite the samples to get to me. Well still have not even received the samples although I was ready to order from Blinds.ca
Update - eventually got my samples and saved money by ordering from Blinds.ca

Missing parts, taken forever to receive correction...

Waited a month for blinds to arrive, discovered solar chargers were missing from order.. had to call back and was told we would have the missing parts within 10 business days. Now on to week 3 and still haven't gotten what we paid for, called again and told we are at least 2 more weeks out from receiving if they ever do show up. Paid an extortionate amount of money for these blinds and yet this company can't even be bothered to rush ship out missing parts that was their error to begin with. Zero compensation for this mess... will be 2 months wait time before we can install our blinds that cost a fortune.

Blinds.ca doesn't stand by their warranty

I used to love this company and highly recommended them. I've ordered from them a few times. But I've just discovered that they don't necessarily stand by their warranty. I have a blind, that is part of a set, in my kitchen. An internal cord broke. It was two years into the five year warranty. After telling me they'd send me a new blind they discovered that those blinds aren't made anymore for Canada. And I've also discovered that it can't be repaired. Blinds.ca said the best they could do is refund me 15% of the broken blind. 15%! For a 100% broken blind! I now have to replace both of the matching blinds with something else, which is going to cost me around eight times what they're offering me. This is terrible customer service and a breach of their warranty promise. I don't take pleasure in writing bad reviews. I don't do it to punish a company. I do it to caution others because I for one depend on others' reviews to guide me in deciding on products and companies. If your choice to purchase products is at least partly based on their warranty, beware of Blinds.ca

I bought every window in my home blinds…

I bought every window in my home blinds from this company. One of my window roller shades completely fell apart. They said they would send parts and then just decided to cancel the order without telling me. I had to follow up months later to find out they won’t send the parts because Canada won’t allow my system anymore. So now with my entire house all the same colour and style I have one giant window “1/2” of it with a major malfunction. All they did is say sorry and credit me the blind. Big whoopty Doo! It’s right in the middle of 6 other blinds. How am I supposed to replace this now? The company says Blinds.ca but it far from the truth, it is American. Super frustrated and angry. I would highly NOT recommend using them.

Made to the window casing.....genius

Paid for this blind to "get made" and shipped. Waited a couple weeks to get here. "Give us the exact measurements of inside your casing" was what I was told by the guy on the phone. "We'll subtract what is neccessary" was what I was told. Absolutely NOT! They made the blind to the exact measurement of the window casing. Stay far away from this joke of a company.

Used to be good, now is just a reseller of sub-par blinds.

I have no idea what has happend to "blinds.ca", but they used to be a reliable, inexpensive, fast way to get blinds cut and delivered. Now, the products are cheap, faulty, parts missing, and as of right now, half of my order is "missing" and they refuse to replace or refund (it's been 2 months). So much for their "100% customer satisfaction". As of this writing, all of the blinds I ordered are no longer on their webpage, so I suspect they simply can't source them, but don't want to give the money back. The vertical blinds I DID get, are far far cheaper than what you get at home depot, which I used to think were terrible. Avoid at all costs, I think they are going out of business but want to milk a few more customers first.

UNSATISFIED TO SAY THE LEAST

Mahogany colour is purple, labels stuck to the slats and one slat was broken. We ended up having to restrain the front and back of each slat costing us more money and pain. Tried 8 times to get ahold of customer service and nothing. Before purchasing we did send multiple photos back and forth to figure out the correct colour and this is nothing like the images sent. Seriously who has purple blinds in their home. Do not recommend. Bad customer service and bad blinds.

Blinds.ca is about 2 x more expensive than blinds.com

This is a review of blinds.ca (which is, I assume the same company).

I configured two identical sets of plantation shutters on Canadian site blinds.ca and US site blinds.com. After converting the US price to Canadian dollars I found that blinds costing CAD$ 1161 excluding HST on the Canadian site were only the equivalent of CAD $640 on their US website. Both included free shipping.

I tried to post a review on the blinds.ca website but, apparently, "it did not meet all our website guidelines." and they declined to publish it.
