Holds and Customer Service SUCK !!!

DO NOT USE THIS ACCOUNT at Hotels, Rental Car Companies, UHaul - or ANYPLACE that may place a Pre-Authorization on your account.
Those companies will release your funds immediately (or within a few days).

But BLUEBIRD will LIE to you and HOLD your money FOR 31 DAYS REGARDLESS !!!

I had OVER $600 outstanding at one point - in various holds of $82, $92, $100, each...etc. - each held for 31 days - regardless of how quickly the actual transactions cleared!

Who can afford that !?!?

This is the WORST WORST WORST card to…

This is the WORST WORST WORST card to get. The App is never functioning correctly, their customer service telephone prompts don't work, and finally you stay on hold upwards to 2 hours for an issue that they keep transferring you to different departments saying they can't help you that only customer service can. You wait 30 minutes to talk to customer service and they tell you thats not their department, you need to be switched to another department. You repeat the cycle all over again. I was transferred 7 times and said enough was enough. I told them to cancel my account. The customer service is the WORST!!!! I highly advise against this card. I never encountered so many bad experiences with this card. The ABSOLUTE WORST!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Save yourself the aggravation and go with another card. In the end I told the guy on the phone I was going to post a bad review and he tells me you go on and do that. Do what you got to do. These people don't know what they are doing when you talk to them.

I had been using Bluebird to pay…

I had been using Bluebird to pay JCPenney for at least 5 years or more. When the pandemic begin, they stopped paying JCPENNEY for me without out informing me. They put the money back on my card and I got late charges. JCPENNEY assumed it was because of insufficient funds. Soon the minimum payment was up to $200. I tried to explain to them it wasn't true. They didn't believe me and closed my
JCPENNEY account which I had for 20 years. Bluebird did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to help me. I was actually told to go to the mall ! And this was during the stay at home order! There was no problem paying other bills and credit cards. Do not use Bluebird!

Bye bye Bluebird by American…

If you open a Bluebird by American Express account, you will regret it. Customer Service is abysmal. "American" Express you disgust me.

Unhappy with customer service of bluebird prepaid card

Unhappy with customer service. Bluebird customer service is not in the business of providing great service to their customers. I have been trying to get a simple issue resolved for three days now and have not gone anywhere. When I ask to speak to a manager I get the run around. I'm writing this review in the hopes that the CEO sees this and investigate why this product of their business is suffering and applies is strongest people or department to work this out so they could be great again. This company is the worst

This company is the worst. I bought these cards for kids as they were reloadable without all the fees; however, it just has been a nightmare. One, it took forever to finally get the actual card. Two, I finally received them & activated them. On the same day, I went to reload monies onto them. It wouldn't do it. The cashier told me to try cash, I did still no. I went to log in and see what the issue was and they permanently suspended both of the accounts. I tried to call same day. I called three times each time was on hold for an hour and 20 mins. Each time it would ring at the end then silence. I just tried to call again today. On hold for over an hour, one ring, then silence. Super ridiculous! To top it off, since they suspended the accounts, my son can't use the $17 he had remaining on the card. Very angry. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Save yourself the agony.

Do not ever get this card

Do not ever get this card. Fees are outrageous customer service is horrible. I waited six weeks for replacement card and had to go to Walmart to transfer money to myself. Incurred fees because of it and bluebird wouldn't even consider refunding me the fees for my inconvenience. Do not get thus card

Not able to purchase what I want with this card

I purchased the card for $5 at walmart not knowing I would have to login to an account online, thought then why did I buy a card if I could get one online ? I do not know however it was what I needed, something I could add cash to at walmart and save it without have a checking account attached to it, for my own reasons. That aspect worked out great for me so far, I did not plan to use the money for just anything but a couple of times I needed it and so for the most part it worked out, until it did not. I needed to use it at the revenue department in Fort Smith AR and it declined me twice, for no reason. I had the money on the card, it is my money if I want to use it I should not be prevented from doing so. I try to call and complain and afind out why this happened but cannot get anyone on the phone. I then tried to buy a lottery ticket just one, and it said not allowed! Not allowed the cashier said debit cards were allowed and it is again my funds that I put on the card. So why do I get denied access? Well I do not know because I cannot get anyone on the phone to find out. So now I must look for another card that has no fees to use, which is one reason I got this one, there were no fees for my purposes except the initial purchase of the card. Ugg, This card is ok if I can use it for whatever I needed, but 3 stars because they caused me inconvience of not being able to purchase what I what when I want.

Do not use!!

I have used them for years and recently have had fraudulent charges 3 times in December for specific amounts and the same fraudulent charges this month. You have to wait on hold forever up to four hours and then get disconnected! They keep giving the run around on status of your claim or say you didn't talk to the right department??? Still haven't received any credit on charges or a new card and will NEVER deposit another dime with them.... They suck ass!!!

Stay AWAY FROM BLUEBIRD'S SHADY BULLoney!!!!

Got a slick shiny new Bluebird Visa Debit card in the mail ....I tried to activate it....butt they asked you for your social security card # !!! That raises a HUGE RED FLAG FOR ME ....... KEPT ON TRYING TO TALK TO A fargin'PERATOR ....to no avail....then low and behold I Google'd BLUEBIRD AND READ TONS OF ONE STAR reviews !! Total BS company that is the biggest stinking pile of dog pooI have ever fargin seen !!

Bluebird by American Express is a SCAM

Bluebird by American Express is a SCAM. Bluebird withdraws fees or denies every customer concern. This account is a disservice to people who Need a bank for them at times when they are hard-up. Stay far away from this account. Try an account at Chime, they are hones and have accounts that help people. Amex is a crime syndicate!

Cannot go to the app to check balance…

Cannot go to the app to check balance for a week now. When I have been able to speak with a real person Label was her name she kept putting me on hold, answered the same question different way, she did not have a clue. Now I can't get anyone to answer the # on the back of the card unless I want be on hold for 3 hours. Awful, awful customer service and they need a lot of work on there app. Would give 0 stars if I could. Will be getting a different prepaid card when I get this bluebird crap straightened out.

They are very good at reading from scripts instead of offering real customer service. Hung up on 7 times in 3 hours. IF they return my money account will be CLOSED!

If I could give Bluebird zero stars I…

If I could give Bluebird zero stars I would but unfortunately I needed to give at leat one star to write a review. Bluebird used to be great but now it's horrible!!! You can not reach anyone in customer service without being hung up on numerous times and when you do finally reach someone you get the run around and different answers from one agent and to the next. Save your time and look into another bank account instead of bluebird.

I will be changing over to a different…

I will be changing over to a different account. This has been the worst experience I have ever had dealing with everything from fraud to unauthorized transactions. Then you call customer service and they talk a million miles an hour want hardly let you speak. Only to be told we can't help you. Here's a suggestion, try leading with that so you can stop wasting people time.

Can’t reach anyone in customer service

When I call the phone call drops. Someone hangs up in my face. I can’t get in touch with anyone. I have been on hold for an hour, automatically transferred then call ends. I can’t log into my account. I thought this would be a really great card to purchase for online purchases but I thought wrong. I called 1 (877) 486-5990 several times. The automatic response says wait time is “4 minutes”. I truly hate this and I have money on here I can’t use. Worst experience.

If I could give zero or negative stars

If I could give zero or negative stars, I would. It takes multiple calls and hours to resolve ANYTHING. Horrible. Representatives will hang up on the call. A paycheck is deposited in this account to avoid fees But, every week they block my card at least once (can only withdraw $750/day), even though my activity is not unique or unusual in anyway. In fact my activity is generally very routine and predictable. The call service people seem to be all offshore, I think they are working remotely as the call quality is impossibly bad requiring multiple calls, with long wait times. Sometimes I will hear a motorbike or chickens in the background on the rare occasion the call quality is adequate. I have had to pay late fees on bills and miss work when it has been impossible to get them on the phone to allow me to access my paycheck money. I think it is deliberate so they can get the extra float on the money.

Please Cancel Bluebird!

This card has giving me nothing but problems they literally will take your money over and over and over again and tell you that you did something wrong I mean thousands of dollars have been taking from me and they will do nothing to help me get my money back then they hang up they are totally unprofessional and completely incompetent do not get this card
