Not easy to get out of.

Bluegreen vacations have left a lot to be desired in terms of user satisfaction. Over the past four years, my experience has been quite frustrating as I have tried to cancel my timeshare with little success. Booking through Bluegreen has proven challenging due to limited availability, even when planning trips well in advance, like 9 months ahead. For someone who has reduced their travel significantly, it doesn't seem practical to hold onto this timeshare. I truly regret the amount of time and money that has been spent, only to end up feeling deceived by the process. It's come to a point where I am concerned if there will ever be a resolution to this situation. If you're thinking about a timeshare, it's worth being careful, especially if you don't want to leave your kids stuck with something they didn't ask for.

They sold me a package

They sold me a package, then said it was a mistake and that I couldn’t use the package. They said they would refund me and a year later I still haven’t gotten a refund. They also deducted the value of a “gift” they gave me at the time of purchase. That’s not a gift

After purchasing a room through Hilton…

After purchasing a room through Hilton hotels, I was told I was able to get a special 3 night stay for $199 through Hilton. Nothing about time share or Bluegreen. Hilton points and low hotel nights were the high point and it sound like a good deal. The agent told me I could just call a different agent to cancel if we decided against it. The number he gave me ended up being a non-working number. So, I thought scam right away. I went to Bluegreen web site and called customer service. I was on hold for over an hour trying to get someone to cancel my order before I actually got some results. If I would have known it was Bluegreen and known about their shady practices, I would have never agreed. After doing a little research and a lot of waiting I was able to get my refund receipt via email. Now let's see if I actually get the refund and see how long it takes.

Would not recommend Bluegreen Vacations

Our experience with Bluegreen has been less than satisfactory. As retirees living on a fixed income, maintaining this timeshare has become a significant financial burden for us. Despite the fact that we are unable to travel ourselves, our children have occasionally managed to utilize it, but even they find it challenging to secure available reservations.
The costs associated with maintaining this timeshare are excessively high, particularly when compared to the vacation expenses our kids incur. We have attempted to sell portions of it over the past couple of years, but the process has been fraught with difficulties. Prospective buyers have backed out due to financial reasons, and even when we thought we were close to a sale, Bluegreen’s right of first refusal added complications. They wanted us to pay the maintenance fees since the sale would not be finalized before the next maintenance fee was due.
Being asked to pay the maintenance fees for a property that we wouldn't even own felt inherently unfair. The prospect of incurring additional costs, especially when we're already struggling to make ends meet, is distressing. We have been seeking a way to exit this commitment since last October without any success, and the suggestion to pay another $24,000 is simply unreasonable.
Overall, we feel trapped in a situation where we can't travel, rent, sell, or afford this timeshare. It's a predicament we wouldn't wish on anyone else. Bluegreen's handling of our case has been disappointing, and we firmly believe there should be a more straightforward and equitable solution for individuals in our situation.

Vacation From Hell

Remove my name and email address from anything that you have it on. After this VACATION FROM HELL that you just sent me on, I never want to see or hear from you again. You ruined my birthday getaway!

And as far as you following thru on promises you make, I wouldn’t trust you as far as I can pick you up and throw you. You had us waiting to be moved to a more suitable accommodation, and we never heard from you. So you think I would trust you to sell me a timeshare? I’d be afraid you would send me to somewhere like the cabin you had us staying in. Hidden Springs Resort (Smoky Mountain Getaway) It was a hidden getaway alright. One that should stay hidden and no one ever hear about it. A Smoky Mountain Getaway to Hell is what it should be called. I’m still itching from whatever it was that bit me while I was there. Don’t know whether it was fleas or bedbugs. Or it could have been the spider that my son-n-law killed in their room. Or the one my son saw behind his bed. My other son said he was afraid to even look behind his bed. Or it could have been the stink bugs that we continually killed inside the cabin. Or it could have been the dust mites. But whatever it was, CABINS FOR YOU will never be for me again and neither will BLUEGREEN VACATIONS. AND “CABINS FOR YOU” HAVE THE NERVE TO OFFER ME A $200 VOUCHER OFF MY NEXT VISIT TO RETURN AND PAY THEM MORE MONEY. ARE THEY CRAZY OR DO THEY JUST THINK I’M STUPID? I could go on and on about how horrible this place was, but it would take a book. We had no WiFi the whole 4 days we were there. We were told by CABINS FOR US that there was an outage in the area. But the cable tv was working fine. And the outage lasted the whole time we were there and was still out when we left. I called the carrier that they provided me with and they could not find the address in their database! No lights in one of the bedrooms when we got there, after calling them to report it, they instructed my poor husband to go outside and find the fuse box and reset it. Broken door on a table in the master bedroom. All of the bathrooms had outdated, rusty shower heads. Dirty rug in front of the jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom which also had a ring around the tub. The bedsheets on all the beds were supposed to be white but they were actually yellow from not having been changed in so long a time. Look like they hadn’t been changed since before the pandemic. We had to wash all the bedcover in all 4 bedrooms before we could even sit on the beds. One of the locks on the front door was broken, we had to put a chair behind the door to feel comfortable going to bed. And I have pictures to prove all that I’m saying, plus I reported all of this to them and sent them the pictures. Customer service is rude and not at all helpful when you call. Once they get your money there is no refund. And after saying all this it still does not cover the horrible condition this place is in. It is truly unbelievable!

Do not believe the pictures that they are showing on line and don’t waste your money. Please do your homework before booking with these people.

THANKS FOR NOTHING ”Cabins For You” and ”Bluegreen Vacations”

We have been extremely disappointed…

We have been extremely disappointed with our experience with Bluegreen over the past year. Our attempts to close out our ownership have resulted in a complete mess. Despite reaching out directly to them and even seeking help from our Attorney General and the senator of Alabama, we have made no progress. The entire situation feels more like shackles than an investment, as we were led to believe. It's clear to us that there needs to be more regulation in this industry to protect consumers. Currently, there seems to be a significant oversight, allowing salespeople to act without accountability. It's unfortunate that our trust in the timeshare industry has been completely eroded, as we have come to realize that they take advantage of individuals simply seeking enjoyable vacations. We would advise caution to anyone considering staying at a resort with a timeshare and recommend taking anything they say with a grain of skepticism.

They promised me $325 in gift cards!

They promised me $325 in gift cards at a bass pro shop we visited in OK, on another trip. Also never mentioned a presentation or any strings attached. I don't care, I'll go 🤷‍♂️ but still should've said something. Its sad their reps do what they can just to get you signed up. Never explained any time limits on gift cards, except for 1 $75 bass pro card (within first 30 days (never shop there)) & I have a year to schedule that was it. Which is fine. But when I called to schedule i am only getting one $75 gift card and they still kept trying to sell me on upgrades and telling me "sorry for your bad luck" what company says that? I asked as per the note left on my paperwork to ask about a free upgrade & new promotions aswell. And they told me I won't be getting anything else. I'm not mad, but what a bummer from what I was promised to what i get after signing up vs what I actually have to deal with. The rep was nice but not helpful by any means. More like a broken record re-explaining things I already understand. Will not recommend and will not be doing any further trips with this company
👎👎👎

I will let yall know if they reach out to rectify the situation. Doubtful tho given their reviews already.
Happy travels!

Not a great company

Our experience with Bluegreen has been extremely disappointing. We were initially misled by promises of easily selling our timeshare, enjoying complimentary flights and cruises, and having access to seamless bookings at quality resorts, none of which have materialized. Despite spending more on additional points with the promise of enhanced experiences, we observed no improvement in the offered services. Even more frustrating was the false assurance that points could be used to cover maintenance fees, which proved to be completely untrue.

While the sales representatives were courteous during the initial purchase, their attitude took a negative turn when we decided against making further purchases. Their shift to a condescending and unprofessional demeanor was disheartening and made us feel undervalued as customers. This added to our growing list of disappointments with the company.

We find the repeated deception and lack of accountability from Bluegreen to be frustrating and unacceptable. We have been trying to close out our ownership for a while now and they are not being helpful or empathetic. Which is why we are leaving this review.

Vacationing nightmare

Our experience with Bluegreen has been overwhelmingly negative. When we signed up we were pretty positive we couldn’t afford it, but any initial hesitation was completely dismissed by their salespeople. Immediately after purchasing, we regretted the decision upon realizing that AirBnB was a more cost-effective option. When expressing this regret, rather than addressing our concerns, Bluegreen representatives assured us that we just didn't understand how to use what we bought. Their suggestion to wait until the orientation was clearly a tactic to string us along past the cancellation window.
The salespeople were relentless. We felt cornered, and they even followed us out to our car to continue to bully us into purchasing with them. It was incredibly disheartening to see how they manipulated us into a decision we were uncomfortable with from the outset.
We have now been trying to cancel this nightmare for almost a year. We can honestly say that their customer service does not get better. We truly feel trapped in this timeshare and sincerely regret falling for their manipulation and bullying.
If we can keep other people from falling into this trap, we want to, but ultimately, we just want out of this.

Horrible experience, got a pen thrown at us.

We were sold a 4-day, 3-night vacation package at Bass Pro Shop through Bluegreen Vacations for Big Cedar Creek Lodge, with the understanding that we just had to attend a tour to get the discounted rate and two gift cards. We expected a sales pitch--and that was fine--but we were told our "no" would be respected if we chose not to buy. Instead, we were pressured repeatedly by a rep named Troy, even after we politely declined three different offers. After the third one, he threw a pen at us to sign a waiver, clearly frustrated, as if we were wasting his time for not wanting to finance a $42,000 package with unrealistic payment options. We signed the waiver--and then, unbelievably, he came back into the room with a fourth offer, still trying to push us into financing something we clearly couldn't afford. We walked away feeling uncomfortable, disrespected, and misled. Definitely not the professional experience we were promised.

One star is too many

One star is too many . We have been Bluegreen owners for 7 years. The BG( Bluegreen) team we sat with in Panama City Bayside are thief's to say the least. STAY AWAY DO NOT BUY. Our reps from. BG and Hilton Garden sold us a Hiton package by offering American Express with zero interest for 12 months. Since January 10 my wife received a bill with 27% interest and so did I. They immediately fixed hers but ytd we have over 600 of interest. I have called American express so they know BG and Hilton are fraudulently using there lines of credit to make sales. Just horrible to lye for sales.. BG reps have called to say they are fixing the issues but no results nor refunds in 3 months very shady. We will enjoy our vacations but will bot let up until this is fixed

Proceed with caution

Bluegreen initially seemed to offer a wonderful opportunity for a single mother to create memories with my son. The sales presentation highlighted appealing pricing, extensive travel options, and cost-saving advantages that appeared to be a great fit. However, the experience ultimately fell short of expectations. The meeting extended far beyond the promised timeframe, cutting into valuable family time, which was the whole point of the timeshare, and the salespeople felt overly assertive, making the decision process feel rushed and less informed than it should have been.

For those considering a timeshare, I would recommend approaching the decision with caution. It's essential to ensure that the deals align with your personal needs and that you really give yourself time to evaluate such a significant financial commitment. While there are undoubtedly positive experiences with Bluegreen, this particular interaction did not meet the standards I had hoped for. Based on this experience, I cannot confidently recommend Bluegreen, but I encourage others to evaluate their options carefully before making a decision.

I am befuddled by how this business is…Disorganized and unhelpful

I am befuddled by how this business is still running. I have been trying to get out of this mess since September last year. They just seem so disorganized. I sent an email to their Legal Affairs department, and a representative reached out, Keshia. This representative had no clue about what was going on with my file. She didn't even know that Legal Affairs had contacted me. Not to mention that their phone numbers come up as spam. I'm starting to think that they do that on purpose so they can say they reached out, but not have to actually talk to anyone. All that being said, I am still stuck with them. I hope others have an easier time than I have. Either way, if you are thinking about purchasing a Bluegreen timeshare, think again unless you want it for the rest of your life.

Bluegreen scam

Bluegreen
was dishonest about what they were selling us from the start. Before we even made the first payment they were already pushing us to upgrade. We’ve never used it and with all the fees associated with it we cannot afford it. We have never used it and we asked
them how to cancel it, they said we could only resell it. They act like it’s some nice piece of real estate that’s an investment, but it’s just a made up system that’s worthless and doesn’t work how they say it will. We have 8 foster kids and our money is
needed elsewhere, but BG is heartless and doesn’t care about other people’s struggles as long as they’re getting richer. Such a scam, buyer’s beware!

Vacationers Beware, salespeople will not take NO

Our experience with Bluegreen was highly unsatisfactory. We spent two hours listening to their presentation before realizing that a timeshare was not suitable for us, especially considering the financial strain of over $20,000 that they wanted immediately. When we expressed our inability to commit, our salesperson was clearly frustrated. They sent multiple representatives to our table, making us feel pressured and overwhelmed.
Despite our initial decision, the amount of people pushing us led us to reluctantly sign up for a timeshare we never wanted. It was a long, grueling six hours of being persuaded against our better judgment. The tactics used felt aggressive and left us feeling bullied into a major financial commitment that we quickly regretted.
We urge others to approach such meetings with caution. If you are not seriously considering a purchase, it might be best to avoid these timeshare presentations altogether. The environment can lead to regrettable decisions, and cancellation is not a straightforward process like they say it is. Be mindful and protect your interests.

Disappointing Experience

Our recent experience with purchasing a timeshare after attending a presentation at Bluegreen in Myrtle Beach has been quite challenging. We were excited by the promise of a discounted vacation package and a Cabelas gift card, only to find ourselves stuck in a commitment that has proven difficult to get out of.
During the presentation, it seemed like a routine sales pitch, but after hours of discussing and viewing model cabins, we found ourselves signing papers for a mortgage we hadn't fully intended to commit to, considering our plans to save for a house. The experience has left us with a significant financial burden, as the monthly payments, coupled with maintenance fees, have strained our budget and necessitated overtime work.
Attempts to cancel the timeshare or discuss the loan have been met with roadblocks. Representatives and a supervisor have informed us of an inability to make changes, and the mortgage support line has been unresponsive, leaving our calls unanswered.
We remain hopeful for resolution, but wish to caution others to carefully consider such commitments and ensure all aspects are fully understood before proceeding. This experience has certainly been a lesson learned in navigating vacation offers linked to timeshare presentations.

If I could give zero stars

If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would! I’m not going to go on and on about our experience from the time we spent $199 at bass pro shop to the time we checked out at our stay at thousand hills…LOL It was an absolute joke! THANK YOU THOUSAND HILLS for helping us so much and paying for a second room for us. After everything we had to go through along with our four children, I called to confirm our $100 Mastercard. The website didn’t work. The automated call said it was an invalid card Lol. So I called customer service and the lady said she had to have my partner be the one to speak and confirm the card. I told her my info should be in the computer as well. She said it has to be him. I told her that he is DEAF and cannot speak on the phone. She said sorry then I cannot help you. !!!!!!!! What an absolute shitshow! I’d very much rather save our own money that we budget to go on a normal family vacation rather than spend another second with bluegreen!

STAY AWAY...RUN...

Back in November 2024, we met friendly Bluegreen Vacations staff at a BassPro Shops at Arundel Mills. We were offered 4-days/3-night stay at one of their resorts. I chose the White Mountains area since I haven't been to NH. I do not recall them mentioning anything about timeshare. I was made to believe that they are promoting the resorts affiliated with Bass Pro Shops. I bought a $199 package. I received emails from Bluegreen Vacations and was assigned a member number.
Months later, yesterday, I tried booking a vacation on their website, but the member number I was assigned did not work. Then, I called 800-845-1995 as I realized I am a promotional guest customer. I tried to schedule a vacation at one of the two resorts in Missouri listed on their website, Wilderness Club at Big Cedar.
This is when I got a sinking feeling that I got duped. Carlos, the customer representative I spoke with explained that I can't book the resort I wanted. He gave me other choices, including Hampton Inn and Thousand Hills. I opted for Thousand Hills. I gave him the dates I prefer. To complete the booking, he explained I have to answer some questions and on the second day, I have to go to a promotional presentation at the Wilderness Club at Big Cedar.
Questions: 1 Are you married? 2 Are you 25 years or older? 3 Do you have a combined income of $50T before taxes? 4 Do you have a major credit card?
I answered yes to all 4 questions. Next question, who is going on this trip? I said, myself, my daughter, my son, and his girlfriend. Carlos insisted my husband has to come but I said he can't. We had a back and fort argument about the requirement for my husband to go on this trip. Finally, Carlos transferred me to another person he said would help. After a long wait time, Martin picked up from when Carlos left off. Same argument and at one point Carlos asked why can't my husband go. I said for health reasons. I asked why does Bluegreen Vacations discriminate against my husband's situation and prevents me from going on my own with my children. I didn't get any satisfying explanation. Carlos even tried to trick me into cancelling a reservation. I said there is nothing to cancel, I did not complete the booking because I didn't meet the husband requirement.
In the end, I realized I lost the money I paid. I will never again go near their booth at any Bass Pro Shops. Bass Pro Shops should not have Bluegreen Vacations or any timeshare traps at their stores. It's an awful feeling for me to feel SCAMMED at a reputable business.

Update 4/10/2025: I got a refund of $159 after I posted this review with Bass Pro Shops on my Google reviews. I was directed to respond to them so I did that. I was not refunded for the $40 gift card. It's time consuming to go through it but at least I got $159 back.

if i could give 0 stars

if i could give 0 stars, I would. My wife and I were basically conned and trapped into purchasing a plan that literally doesn't even give us enough points to do anything or go anywhere, which is not something they tell you when you purchase. The "hour long" presentation turned into almost 8 hours of negotiating after we told them no multiple times but they just kept insisting and promising more and more things that ultimately became lies. 8 freaking hours. That was my entire day. They show you all the beautiful resorts not telling you that if you ever want to stay there for more than just 2 nights its going to be thousands and thousands of points. They also don't tell you that points expire and you need to pay to roll them over, but then you can only use them in "off seasons". Every single time we have tried to book anything, there has been an issue and this has been the most expensive mistake of my life. Not to mention that these people don't care that they are conning you and anytime you travel to one of their resorts they force you into an "hour long presentation" that turns into many hours of them trying to get you to buy more points and you politely saying no and they won't let you leave no matter how many times you say no. It's disgusting what these people do.
