Very expensive Connected Services

I drive a BMW 7 Series, which has features which are expiring, and now require payments to reactivate via BMW Connected Drive. These subscription costs are very high, and are not covered by my leasing.

* Apple CarPlay: EUR300 for activation
* Real time traffic information: EUR70 per year
* Connected Package plus: EUR150 per year
* Connected Package professional: EUR250 per year
* Parking information: EUR40 per year
* BMW online: EUR45 per year
* Music entertainment: EUR225 per year

I used to drive a Tesla, which had all these services for free, for life! I don't understand how can BMW expect customers to be paying these expensive subscriptions which are standard in many cheaper cars!

Beware if you get a BMW, as these features that we would naturally expect to be included, can cost you hundreds of Euros per year!

BMW 320D no reverse gear

BMW attitude is tough get on with it. There are hundreds of customers with this known fault. There advice was drive it to a dealership ??? How's that gonna work then with no gear and its 36 miles away. Well done for that. Refuse to acknowledge fault despite being done in court for sane problem with Mini Cooper. Avoid buying BMW ursd your a scrap yard. Mine has been on the drive for over a week now. I am disgusted that an executive car has no gear and gearbox faults and BMW is doing nothing.

BMW website doesn't help you to make the right choice. As a result you pay for options that don't work..

I bought recently a BMW 420 xd Gran Coupé with several options like kit M, automatic and turning headlights, speed limit recognition system, sky view by cameras, ... . All of this is not useful and doesn't work ! An example : if you turn your lights on, the automatic (beam/code) and turning lights don't work. Surprising isn't it ? BMW says, you may not turn your lights on but on position 2 of the switch. Ok, but in this position, you never know what's on or off. Your lights are off when driving in smog, you don't see the dashboard anymore, and your rear lamps are off even by dark. Really dangerous. In addition, you don't get beam lights anymore. The 2 central headlights are empty. BMW says you will get a really up to date and performing Xenon lighting system. In fact, you receive only 2 headlights (when you see 4 on the picture of the car), that you need to activate manually, and that looks like headlights of a car of the 70's. Weak and yellow lighting instead of bright white and powerful lighting. Really disappointing. Another example : speed limit recognition is funny, but most of the time gives you bad indications. In addition, you need to cancel the display of other information. Finally, this is not consistant with Belgian road regulations : a 70 limit may be displayed for 20 km, even if you crossed several roads. Cameras ? you're parked for long before they finally give you a picture. I have lots of example like this.
It's my 5th BMW. This one will be the last.
