Boarder Landscapes ordeal

I wouldn’t wish on anyone the ordeal we have been through with Boarder Landscapes/Miles Boarder. We are currently having to take legal action to recover £50,000 and have filed a police report for stolen property.

Miles had been doing regular gardening for us for a year which mostly comprised grass and hedge cutting. We had plans for raised beds, a polytunnel, duck pond and some improved drainage, all of which Miles claimed he could do. He could not and we have been left with a complete disaster, shown in the photos which are hopefully included. The raised beds haven’t been built properly and will need to be started again, the polytunnel hasn’t been properly assembled and has been extensively damaged, the edge of the duck pond has failed after 2 months and the area with new drainage has been left with around 50 tonnes of waste and broken fencing.

When the quality and cost of the project were questioned (original quote was £15,000) Miles disappeared and will no longer respond to communication. We are left having to try and recover £50,000 in order to start the project completely from the beginning.

Six different items of gardening equipment have been stolen, over £1,000 of damage has been done to a tractor and topper (and lied about) and a number of historic items were found on the land, including coins of some value, which Miles is refusing to return.

Miles does not have professionally trained staff as claimed - few of the people who work for him do so for more than a few weeks and Miles left two teenagers with no gardening experience to construct our raised beds and polytunnel while he went on holiday.

We are writing this in the hope that nobody else is subjected to this situation in future.
