Thank You!
I had always dreamed to become a captain. Boat-Ed has allowed me to achieve this dream. Thank you Boat-Ed Team.
I really liked the course
I really liked the course. Information all seems very relevant. Even though I don't operate a jet ski, it was good to know what that is about. Production level is high. Videos are particularly well produced. Some glitches in the interactives -- might just have been my browser. Only critique is that some units feel information heavy. I believe there is a better organizational scheme out there.
Starting with the basics
This course started with the basics and built on them. They introduced nautical lingo directly referencing layman words. The course gives you the knowledge to know where you're allowed to go and how to avoid water collisions. I would encourage anyone thinking about operating a water craft to take this course.
It was an easy thing to do

Overall the course didn’t take to long and it has all the information you’ll need.
Course should be split into two…
Course should be split into two versions, one for power and one for sail. Much of the content could be cloned and more specific info added relative to sail vs power.
Excellent program
Excellent program! Would recommend it to anyone spending time on the water whether or not you're an owner/operator.
This course was perfect!
This course was perfect! I felt like I was challenged and educated. The test was fair and the return where I left off feature gave me the flexibility to complete this over a week’s time. I was wondering along the way if the quizzes were the final test. Maybe I missed it in the front, but if not you might want to add a summary like this to let students know what to expect:
There will be a series of chapters and topics that have interactive videos and quizzes along the way. You may pause your progress at anytime and return to your work. After the final quiz there will be a practice test with 60 questions that you can take multiple times and you may choose to return to a topic you need more time to learn. When you are ready, a final 60 question exam will let you show what you have learned and an 80 percent score will get you certified. Let the learning begin!
Thanks again,
Russell
Great job explaining all the different…
Great job explaining all the different parts of the boat.
Very good online class
I thought this was a great way to study for and receive a boater safety certificate; the modules were long enough to reinforce the points needed to know to pass the test, but not too long or over redundant. This was just a convenient way to get your certificate.

Dumbest system ever
I tried to renew my expired temporary Florida boaters license. I logged-in with my existing account and paid $10 which gave me access to the learning material and practice exam. When I tried to retake the final exam it only gave me access to my expired license.
I phoned FWC and the voicemail message told me to call back later. I had to get creative and chatted with Boat Ed via Facebook Messenger. I was told the only way to renew my license was to create a new user login. That is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard and even dumber there are no user instructions on the website. I asked about the $10 I already paid and was told it would be refunded.
I created a new user account, paid another $10 and got a new license. Then I received an email message from Boat Ed asking for a critique (this critique). Instead of a clickable link in the body of the email, linking to the critique page, there is a copy and paste link, again the dumbest thing ever.
SUMMARY: I got my license but it was the clunkiest, dumbest experience and a big hassle. Non-tech savvy customers could never have gotten it done due to the total lack of user instructions on the website.
It was quite well
It was quite well honestly the videos helped a lot and the questions were straight forward
Great experience!
I thought the course was very good and thorough. It definitely set me up for success. I learned a lot from it and I’m so glad to have gotten my boater card.
It was all good and information
The course was well designed
The course was well designed, easy to follow, instructions, material and all explanations were very easy to understand
The course was excellent
The course was excellent! I especially appreciated the videos and graphics. The only problem I experienced was a constant freezing of the screen during videos or just random incidents of being kicked out of a chapter, having to log back in. Maybe this was from my end of things?
I thought the process was perfect
I thought the process was perfect. You covered a ton of safety issues which most people just dont get! I cant tell you how many inexperienced boaters are out there so keep the safety topics coming!
I’m not one for online courses…but
I’m not one for online courses since they’re long and usually put me asleep. This course on the other hand was interesting and I learned a lot of things about boats that I had no idea about. I would recommend the course to others for sure
