SCAM company run by foreigners out of Miami and all they do is take your money!

Listed and when buyers tried to contact me they could not-customer service would either go to voice mail or kiss off your request by saying they would have someone contact you--this company is owned/operated (if that's what you call take the money and run) by foreigners out of Miami FL, which is notorious area for scam companies operating out of foreign agencies--need to get this company back to AMERICAN run so we at least have a chance at using it with some type of value to the consumers.

I sold several boats over the years

I sold several boats over the years. Advertise most of them on different platforms like portrayer and lately Facebook. Each ad was boat trader a short lives and expensive. And all this time I’ve never been able to sell one single boat on this platform. Yet I’ve spent Hundreds and hundreds of dollars with each attempt stick with Facebook. It’s free you get more exposure and you sell your boat.

Do not place an add on Boat Trader

Do not place an add on Boat Trader. Use FB Market place or a local reseller. Boat Trader did not provide one interested buyer. Additionally, they have an auto renewal fine print that you have to catch, or you will be stuck on auto renewal until you identify the charge.

Do not place an ad in Boat Trader

Do not place an ad in Boat Trader. The only response we received was scammers trying to sell us a hull check. You forward the email to the fraud department, and they acknowledge the email and no further response from them. We should have read reviews before spending $199.00. Then they automatically renewed the ad. They said that when you place the ad it automatic the renewal. There are a lot of websites that are free (Boat US).

Waste of 80.00

We posted our boat on this site and the only result from the posting was contact from people trying to sell us hull check services. It was a complete waste of money. The boat was priced to sell, we got no local or state wide inquiries in 10 days of listing it and had paid extra to upload more pictures.

Boat Trader is a shell for scams

Boat Trader is a shell for scams. I was on it a short while and I ONLY received interests from scams. Seems like it is a shell for deception.

I paid $199 for 12 weeks for the privilege of being a mark for the professional scammers. What is boat trader doing about that?? NOTHING. They don’t care

Save yourselves the $ and torture. Post your boat anywhere but NOT on boat trader

Minimal Results From Boat Trader Ad

I advertised my boat on Boat Trader and got very few hits. The majority of the inquiries that I got turned out to be from scammers. I had much better results advertising on Facebook marketplace, which did not cost me anything. I would definitely recommend Facebook marketplace over Boat Trader.

It was a nightmare

It was a nightmare. It was nothing but setting myself up for scams and donating my money. No serious contacts were made. I was sent a bogus check and asked to click on various links in an effort to scam me. If I had my freedom to score the service it would be a negative 5.

boat trader is by far the WORST…

boat trader is by far the WORST experience I have ever had attempting to sell anything! I will be all over social media providing reviews anyway I can to express my frustration with this company. I communicated often with boat trader about the barrage of spam and fraudulent attempts to swindle me out of money, they did nothing! I have more fraud attempts from boat trader in a week then I ever have on Craigslist. Quite frankly I don’t understand how you are in business, I am a cyber security software engineer, if my environment was as horrible as boat traders I would be fired!

I had to give a star in order to leave a review they don’t deserve one star!

I would give zero if possible

I would give zero if possible. What a total waste of $160.00 (not US company) All I received were scams trying to get me to buy a report. Every time I log in a get one. They play like ok make you go back and forth a few times them ask for the report because they have been taken in the past. This went on for weeks. Well I sold it on Marketplace in 3 days but kept the add going and sure enough out came the scammers. Save your money Boatrader SUCKS

Boat Trader is a simple tool/sold my boat

Boat Trader is a simple tool to get eyes on your boat. I had a fine experience in receiving 5 inquiries over the course of 3 weeks, and then set up a showing to one of those buyers. They ended up being a neighbor a few blocks away and they bought the boat. You do have to be careful about internet fraud but that can happen on any exchange site.

Boat Trader has been a complete joke

Boat Trader has been a complete joke. I spent $115 to only end up giving and running a report for someone who possibly took all of my personal information. Do not trust the website because they’re not out to help you sell your boat they’re out to get your information.

THE GOAT TRADER

I've had my boat On the Boat Trader for about 5 months now. Costing me about $500.
The problem was.
I received emails as notification. Of people who were interested in my boat when I respond to these emails only about 10% over that 5 month period returned my response. I don't know if it was because people just aren't interested and they're just fishing. Or if there was a technical difficulty with the boat trader communication process across the board.
When I canceled my account this morning and talked to a customer representative and I got no prorated refund with 2 weeks left and there was no interest in what I had to say about technical issues possibly in the communication process with the sale of my boat. I'm not happy about this and I wish that boat trader would refund me some of the money I invested in their company to do a job that was not completed properly. A complete lack of integrity. I have also had reflection with other clients of boat trader who were not happy with their business also. Read 1 star ratings list below. There's also a lot of scam on boat trader to try and get you to give them money or to open an account for the person trying to buy your boat. I will not use boat trader again. And I recommend the same for everybody else out there. I can't believe all the poor reviews of Boat Trader on Trust Pilot. I would have never been ripped off by them had I gone on Trust Pilot in the beginning. From now on TP to read reviews. Sold boat on Offer Up.
Signed,,, unhappy boat seller

I spent $170 for a 6 week listing due…

I spent $170 for a 6 week listing due prime boating season (priced well below value to try to sell) and all I received was spam "pay $70 for a hull report and I will come look at it" which is a known scam. Not a single legitimate lead. I had way more leads from FB marketplace.
Then they send you an email that your listing (and fee) will auto-renew and there is no way to stop that other than canceling your listing before it expires. I paid for 6 weeks, I should get the full 6 weeks without being forced to pay for another 6 weeks.

While Boat Trader had a great…

While Boat Trader had a great reputation…my recent experience has not been good. I have only had two potential buyers. Both wanted me to provide a thehincheck.us report. That company has very poor reviews. I offered to provide a Boat History Report. I think both potential buyers were connected to thehincheck.us and they were to profit from selling their service. Don’t fall for their sales pitch. Don’t fall for the line “I will reimburse you for the fee once I buy the boat”. Almost month a month of advertising and all I got were two scammers or one scammer using two fake names.

They make you pay to post your boat, but don't care if it sells.

I've only been contacted by scammers.
I paid to have it on Boat Trader and another site, but they forgot to put it on the other site. When I called, they fixed it and extended my time, but I want to sell my boat now, not when they feel like doing their job.
Extremely disappointed with them especially for what they charge to post your boat.
