Had a boiler fitted and Its brilliant, no issues at all and left everything clean and tidy plus taken all rubbish away.

The boiler service was fine and I’ve used this company for years. However after having my boiler done today, the engineer sent to my house stole from me. Certainly will not be using again

Called to request an emergency call out for a broken boiler. On the phone was told that engineer will come and asses the fault end quote for repair. I can then decide if I want to go ahead with repair or not, no mention on any cost. I asked twice to confirm, they said yes.

Engineer came within an hour, which was very good. Done few check, turned out spark needed cleaning, 5 min job. Cleaned it and boiler worked again, great. Asked him how much, he said it's nothing to do with him and I need to contact head office.

Hour later head office ranger and said £180!!!!! for a call out. The price is ridiculous, at no point anyone said it will cost that much, otherwise I would have never go ahead.

I made a compliant about it, customer service admitted there were errors made on their side, I should have been told the price and received an invoice prior attendance, which I never did. Next day manager called Tony ranged me. Straight on defense, accusing me of lying and saying that they have done nothing wrong. Asked him to listen to the call, apparently they don't record calls, but that's not what previous person told me. Eventually after going back and forth he agreed to reduce the price to £120, which is a rip off anyway considering what was done and what is the normal call out price (£60-80). He also voided my 30 day repair warranty.

Few days later I called another engineer to book full service on the boiler. He said that online companies such as this are just a middle man/call centres. They don't employ any of the engineers, they are self employed men "on call". When they need one they call around the area and pay them fix charge ex £100 (he has done it himself). And the actual price they quote to customer is normally 2,3 times that. It would make sense as there is no prices on their website and Tony said it's because they might change any time....

To sum up do not use this company, they have good reviews but are way overpriced. Do some research and find local engineer who has his own business, you will save a lot of money and get good customer service. For them you just another number they can charge what they want.

Outstanding customer service and follow up. Had a new boiler fitted and was done promptly and professionally, small issue with the hive settings came back and fixed it. Special shout out to Andrea who took care of us from start to finish. Would recommend using them if you have the chance.

Contacted due to loss of pressure in our boiler. Even though the team was stretched due to being very busy, they made an effort to visit us at a convenient time and were helpful and friendly on the phone. Our engineer was polite, courteous and informative - and located our issue almost immediately, ordering the part and returning to fix it within a couple of days, whilst in the meantime providing information on how to get the most out of our broken boiler. Fee was reasonable for the repair and part, invoicing was clear and timely. Good communication throughout. Would recommend and use again!

Paid A&R Boiler Repairs Midlands Ltd £187 for a heat exchanger service that took 40 minutes and which didn’t achieve anything other than getting me a service certificate. The engineer told me that I had a blockage somewhere in the system, but made no attempt to locate it, as it could be “anywhere”. I subsequently had a different contractor perform a service, who immediately spotted that the strainers had never been cleaned and who managed to clean these out in five minutes, resulting in a threefold increase in flow rate. In hindsight I regret using A&R and cannot recommend them.

The Duncurins have a ferociously complicated water cylinder/Tank/Unvented/Thermal Store thingy that few people understand. Many come and scratch their heads and then disappear. Other arrive with bold changes that make it noisier or make it boil more frequently and we have to hurriedly run off hot water before the whole house starts shaking. It was due an annual service and it was also making strange (even for it) new noises. A&R phoned to say that they were on their way. I'd booked a call a few days before and the engineer phoned me to say that he was running late but he'd be still happy to come after 8pm. I told him that it was kind of him but I thought he should go home and put his feet up and we could re-schedule. Sure enough, the office phoned to re-book a day or two later. The young chap who came took his time to look at the system and make sure that he understood it before making his assessment and then called me to discuss his findings. He showed me one or two things that were wrong and also that one of the parts had failed. He told me that he didn't stock the parts needed. I assumed at this point that as it was the 23rd of December and now almost 5pm it would be some time in the New Year until he could get back. He made some calls, told me that he was off to get the parts and returned 30 mins later after agreeing a price with me for the new bits. He fitted them without further ado and called me to listen to the sound of - silence. The tank thingy was working noiselessly and beautifully. I thanked him for his hard work, his care and diligence and the Duncurins would like to thank him and A&R for a wonderful service and to wish one and all a wonderful Christmas . Well done and many thanks.

My experience with A+R was great. Friendly and hassle free, my hot water was back up and running with no further problems.
