The optional electricity plans are…

The optional electricity plans are interesting and the information provided online is clear. But it's the customer service that has been the highlight. In my case, there were some complications regarding the electricity meters and the agent was diligent in figuring out the solution and in following it through, communicating with me all the while. I value this greatly.

Truly green, intuitive website and responsive client service

Happy to have found a truly green energy provider here in Brussels. Easy and intuitive website with a clear overview of my usage and they adapted my monthly price according to my own calculations after just a simple email.

I received the invoice for the yearly consumption on the 10th of July by email

On 11th July they emailed me threatening to send the baillif because my payment was "late"

It can happen, however, if you still have an earlier unpaid invoice ,in that case, you receive a reminder that includes all outstanding invoices, even your most recent one, even if you just received it.

Inflexible customer service

I was a client for less than a year. The reason is their stubborness. When I received the décompte I saw that the data there was wrong. If I haven't spotted this I would have overpaid. I signalled this and they corrected the invoice. When I politely asked for a compensation - because I did their work of verifying the data - I got a decline. Then I switched and went to another energy supplier. Now, instead of showing good will and offering something like 20 EUR for compensation, they lost a client.

As an energy supplier, we do not have direct access to your meters. We rely on the grid operator to send us your consumption data.

As a customer, you can always verify your meter readings and usage yourself. If you notice something is not correct, please let us know. We can then request a correction from the grid operator, for example with the right meter readings.

We want to be clear that we cannot adjust or check your consumption data ourselves unless you tell us something might be wrong. So please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any doubts.

Beware of hidden costs

Beware of hidden fees!

I have made a contract for an empty apartment with Bolt, as a “bridge” between the moment when the tenant moved out and when the apartment was sold. I literally had €0 consumption, as everything was turned off. I ended up paying more than €50 for network expenses and Bolt platform expenses.

Message from Bolt: « Même sans consommation, vous payez des frais comme les frais de réseau et contributions et les frais de la platforme Bolt. »

Hi Iona, Thank you for your feedback. We understand it's frustrating to pay charges with low consumption. However, these costs are clearly stated on our website and tariff cards. Your energy price exists out of multiple components: the cost of electricity, Bolt's platform fee, and network tariffs/contributions paid to the government and grid operator. While low consumption results in lower energy costs, Bolt's platform fee remains fixed which is specified in your contract and our website. Among other things, we use this cost to maintain your online customer area My Bolt, handle administration with your energy generator and our customer service. Next to that you also pay network tariffs/contributions, these costs are directly paid to the government and grid operator and are the same across all supliers. We hope this clarifies your energy pricing.

Happy to be a client at Bolt Energie

Happy to be a client at Bolt Energie. I don't experience problems at all. The subscription was very easy. You can also refer your friends and you and your friend get a discount of 30 euros. Most of the time you get nothing when you do this with other suppliers. Also want to add that Bolt really changes the energy market in a good way. They make it very local and green by having local producers sharing their energy with Bolt customers.
