Born out of the love of animals and the joy of being able to share his passion for the outdoors, Andy as he is affectionately known, started Bona Tau Tours and Safaris in 2018. As a young child, he started off helping out at a lodge that used to have a lot of hurt and injured animals, where he was integrally involved in their care and rehabilitation. To keep them safe whilst they were being hand raised, the animals were housed in camps at the reserve during the night, and in the mornings, guests were able to enjoy two or three-hour walks in the natural habitat. Eventually, the calling of nature won, and he headed back towards the Lowveld and started working as a guide again. During this time, the rules and regulations had changed, and in order to comply, Andy registered with SATSA. Being back in his home town was fantastic, but the working hours were incredibly long and as a family man with young children, he was starved for the milestones he was missing out on in their lives. This all culminated in the commencement of Bona Tau Tours and Safaris.
