Booking was easy the rest of the trip…

Booking was easy the rest of the trip was crapshow we paid for a minivan and got a sedan the driver had trouble getting my golf clubs in the front seat then he did not have enough fuel for the trip had to stop and fill up with propane then proceed on our way for about 3/4 of hour he then pulled over and said we had not payed enough to get to the resort he needed another $45 to take us on fearing that if we did not agree he would leave us on the side of the road so we quickly agreed and carried on he had no idea where our resort was we were lost and ended up on a side road thinking this was the end we became very nervous we did finally get to the resort after 2 1/2 hours later there were other people that we on the same plane as us in the resort they had been there an hour before us I payed for a return trip not wanting to trust this company we did get someone else to take us back to the airport absolutely do not recommend this company that bookaway has entrusted to fulfill there obligations

Good and various

I was able to find all the routes I needed with different time options.

Scam / don't trust

Scam:
- not trustworthy, booked a ride which never took place, operator cancelled last minute because money was not forwarded from bookaway platform
- says 100% refundable but only refunded as voucher, which they make impossible to use
- in some countries, all transportation services are significantly more expensive than booking directly with operator (sometimes 3x the price)

Very bad

Very bad. Avoid this at all costs. No ticket delivery at all and finally cancelled the trip 30 mins before the departure time. Please avoid it.

Avoid this company


Ordered and paid for a VIP car and driver for a return trip from Aswan to Abu Simbel. The car that arrived was not as advertised and we were following a tight itinerary so had no choice but to take the car that was supplied. The car was filthy with limited air conditioning and resembled an Egyptian Uber in quality.
While the driver drove safely he did take a detour in both directions through a barren area to avoid checkpoints. On the return journey we were blocked from exiting this area by a group of boys armed with sticks , who had placed large rocks as a barrier. The driver had to pay them to exit.
Not what was ordered and paid for. Unprofessional, unsafe and one has to ask why the driver needed to avoid the check points!
Would advise Bookaway rethink their partnership with Your Bus Transportation.

I am genuinely disgusted by this company’s service. I booked transport through them, only to arrive at the coach station and be told by staff that my ticket was not valid and that they had never even heard of this company or website before. I was essentially sold a fake ticket.

As a result, I was left completely stranded in a foreign country at night with no support or proper communication. The service I paid for was not provided, and I was forced to figure everything out on my own.

Because of this, I had to pay for an extra night in Montenegro, rebook alternative transport at my own expense, and I also lost a night of my Airbnb in Albania with no refund. The stress, inconvenience, and safety concerns this caused were completely unacceptable.

I would strongly advise others to avoid this company!! Completely unreliable and a very disappointing experience.

where your ticket comes with a free mystery, a philosophical journey, and 22 complimentary emails

I recently had the profound privilege of purchasing a bus ticket through Bookaway.

Not just any ticket — a ticket so creatively constructed that even Bookaway’s own team spent over 9 days and 20+ emails trying to figure out what it meant.

I thought I was buying transport.

I was wrong.

I was entering an experience.

Chapter 1: The Simple Beginning
I found a ticket.
Departure: Brela Magistrala.
Operator: Promet Makarska.

Simple. Clean. Understandable.

Then I realised — wrong departure point.

No problem. It says “free cancellation.”

How naïve of me.

Chapter 2: The Coupon Dimension
The refund did not return to my bank account.

It evolved into:
“coupon credit (minus service fee)”

Which, as it turns out, means:
“You are not leaving this platform.”

So I did what any reasonable person would do.

I bought another ticket.

Chapter 3: The Illusion of Choice
Same route. Same time.

But suddenly:

Different operator: Nomago
Different departure: Stjepana Radića
Different arrival name
Different price
Multiple options.

Exciting.

Turns out:
same bus.

So I cancelled a ticket
to buy the exact same ticket
for more money
through a company that does not actually operate it.

Efficiency.

Chapter 4: The Operator (a work of fiction)
The ticket proudly displayed: Nomago.

Reassuring.

Except they don’t operate the bus.

They are, in fact, not the operator at all.

So the operator is not operating.

Which makes “operator” more of a suggestion than a fact.

Chapter 5: The Departure Stop (choose your own adventure)
Two departure names were provided:

Brela Magistrala
Brela Stjepana Radića
I was assured these are the same location.

The platform then helpfully showed a map with a 4-minute walking route between them.

Because nothing confirms two places are identical quite like showing how to walk from one to the other.

Chapter 6: The Arrival (also a mystery)
The destination offered similar flexibility:

Split Bus Terminal
Split Central Bus Station
Two names. One destination.

Nothing to worry about.

Just pick the right one. Or the wrong one.

Chapter 7: The Ghost Booking
My cancelled booking came back.

Not metaphorically.

It literally reappeared as confirmed.

Bookaway explained this as:
“an internal processing update.”

So at this point, I did not know:

which stop to go to
which operator was running the service
which name referred to the destination
or even which ticket was valid
But the system was clearly thriving.

Chapter 8: The Clarification Era
At one point, I asked a simple question:

“Where does the bus actually depart from?”

This triggered a week-long investigation.

The conclusion:

The stops are the same
but also different
but also the same street
but also require a short walk
but also don’t worry
I did worry.

Chapter 9: The Real-World Consequences
Now imagine this happens on the day of travel.

You follow your ticket.
You go to the wrong “same” stop.
The bus is not there.

You miss:

the bus
your connection
your flight
Now you’re:

stuck in another country
booking accommodation
rearranging everything
paying for all of it
All because two “identical” stops were not actually identical.

But don't worry — they're only 4 minutes apart and will cost you a small fortune. And if that empties your bank account, congratulations: you're now a Croatian illegal immigrant.

Chapter 10: The Resolution (eventually)
After 22 emails, a formal complaint, and escalation, I received a full refund of £29.40.

At this point, the ticket details were still officially “under clarification.”

Naturally.

Epilogue: The Gift
As a gesture of goodwill, I was offered a 20% discount code.

I briefly considered giving it to one of my enemies.

I genuinely searched my life for someone who deserved it.

I could not find a single person whose actions warranted that level of consequence.

So if anyone here feels brave enough, it’s yours.

Consider it less a discount and more an experience voucher.

In the end, I didn’t just try to buy a bus ticket.

I completed a journey.

Just not the one from Brela to Split.

I booked my tickets through Bookaway…

I booked my tickets through Bookaway well in advance (approximately two months prior to departure). Despite my repeated follow-ups (around five reminders), Bookaway failed to deliver the tickets until less than 12 hours before departure, forcing me to purchase alternative tickets at the last minute.
While their customer service responses were polite, they were entirely ineffective. My requests for cancellation and refunds were ignored, and no resolution was provided. This level of incompetence is unacceptable for a global booking platform.
I cannot recommend Bookaway—it is a waste of time, money, and trust. Their service is unreliable, and their failure to address issues borders on fraudulent behavior.

DO NOT USE! Booked and paid for 2 shuttle tickets. Bookaway never contacted the shuttle service. Driver said the was common. Customer Service has been "investigating". Doubt I'll ever see a refund

We booked two “Luxury Transport” rides.

We booked two “Luxury Transport” rides.
For the first one, we were given a sedan with a tarp covering the back seat. We realized later that a sticky substance on the tarp had stained our clothes.
For the second trip, we had scheduled a 10:00 a.m. departure. We heard nothing from customer service until 10:45 a.m., when they finally sent me a photo of the vehicle—which, as it turned out, wasn’t the right one. To top it all off, we spent part of the ride swatting mosquitoes that must have been living in the vehicle.
We won’t be using this service again.
