Sectarian scum. Avoid.

Why is the British government not closing this disgraceful company down?

They refused me, based on my nationality. Avoid those numpties.

Their time is running out.

Terrible web site

Terrible web site and speed of transaction/ no final transaction completed as timed out, not due to my speed but web site end. Twice in a week tried to book tickets. No wonder cinema companies are going out of business. Poor technology will be thier downfall, to Netflix and other streaming platforms advantage.

Cineworld website is so slow that the tickets are released from your basket BEFORE you even get to put your card number in. The app is no better, and in addition I couldn't enter my niece's CEA card via the app. Absolute rubbish website

Fire alarm and no refunds

went to watch the new marvel film this week.

we had only watch 25 mins of the film when we had to evacuate the building due to a fire alarm. however thier was no fire alarm in the screen and the movie was still playing. No member of staff came to tell us that we needed to evacuate the building or that there was a potential fire. The only reason we knew was a member of the audience went to the toilet and came back saying that there was no one around and a fire alarm was sounding outside the screen. We then had to find our own way out of the cinema with no guidance from staff, once outside no one was telling us anything and we had to keep asking 2 members of staff stood at the door what we do. They only said we cannot come in for 2 hours to get anything, and out films won't be restarted. We didnt receive any help, guidance or apologies and we're left standing in the freezing cold for nearly 30mins before leaving. We had a lady in a wheel chair in our screen who also received no help from staff to exit the building and had to be carried out.

It seem ridiculous that you would keep playing a film and not tell people that they needed to leave due to a potential fire. And then expect people to find thier own way and tell them nothing once outside. on top of this cineworld now say that we are no due a refund as we didnt book with a cinewolrd account but paid on the day. sent them proof we had tickets and nothing. terrible cinema

Don't buy tickets as a GUEST!!

Don't buy tickets as a GUEST!!

I did that for Paddington yesterday for todays viewing at Poole. An hour after getting tickets my daughter started with norovirus which put the viewing out of the question. I applied to get a refund or amendment to be told (auto reply) guest tickets are non refundable or amendable.

What a way to treat a GUEST!! Shocking, disgusting practice! Your supposed to look after your guests.

I love the cinema and keep going often…

I love the cinema and keep going often with my son. With cinemas struggling though it’s crazy that cineworld make it frustrating and add a barrier to going by the booking system never working! I try online, never works and breaks down at stages, throws you out, links to pay don’t work…even had to give up using the screens in the cinema and had to go to the person selling food to get a ticket. Should be so easy, got to be a priority to fix this surely. But today is the latest bad experience of many and just got too frustrated.

Can't book on line

Can't book on line. Waited ages. Just get a red circle going round and around. Went on to Vue and booked in seconds. And Cineworld you want to charge a booking fee for this experience? That's it. Luckily I have plenty of other cinemas to choose from in York.

Would not recommend

As I am now retired I was trying to find things to do in my retirement, So I decided to join Cineworld Unlimited
The biggest mistake in my life , the membership at £17.99 was for a minimum of 3 months , since I have joined they have removed the telephone number for customer services , cancelled my screening without any notice , if you email them they respond with generic emails nothing to do with your issue , tried desperately to contact them as they have now increased the price but alas no joy .
The only good thing about Cineworld is the staff in the cinema very friendly .
Would I recommend Cineworld cinemas to friends / family definitely not

Better Take Blankets etc etc

Belfast Odyssey, Auditorium 8, 17.40 pm, opening day of Paddington In Peru - (along with my wife) felt frozen from start to finish, was using an overcoat and scarf to maintain some warmth (the onset of winter, bearing in mind the date). It seems others might've experienced heating issues within the Cineworld chain auditoriums (whether too cold or hot, perhaps depending on the time of year and whatever the internal underlying reasons). Also it follows on from my previous complaint, trying in vain to book tickets online (subsequently liaising via email with the executive branch personnel). But now this actual experience marred the novelty of visiting for the first time and the movie itself, when they're supposed to be better than all the rest (of the less hi-tech competition)! ps relatively deserted premises, considering it was a Friday night too. Also, unless the screening is enhanced in some specialist way (we saw in 2D), the price guage is not value for money, neither for tickets nor the snacks. The only part of which they offer some consolation, is free parking (accredited to your ticket) for a film duration - although I'm not sure how that compares to the circumstances (on the cost) of different urban cinema zones.

Cineworld online booking

Tried to book a ticket online. Pages would not load and I got a message that I had failed to verify that I was not a robot after previously getting confirmation that I had proved that I was not a robot. Gave up trying after an hour.

Frustrating and upsetting booking experience

It took me a full 4 HOURS (or more) to book tickets at the Cineworld website!!
I was going crazy and got extremely frustrated. Almost throughout the whole time I thought there was a problem with my internet connection or my phone or something until I read the reviews here and discovered that many people had the same issue.
This needs to be fixed asap!
Ridiculous!!!

My husband and I have plus unlimited memberships . We made an online booking on Saturday 1/6/2024 to take my 4 year old grandson to see little monsters at 10.20 am at Warrington on Sunday 2/6/2024. We arrived to find closed doors at 10.15am . A few other people were waiting too. I rang customer services to be told the film had been cancelled due to technical difficulties, in fact all morning films had been cancelled but with no prior warning. We were really upset for my grandson really as he has autism so wasn’t very easy to explain why he couldn’t go in. I will be cancelling both our memberships. Another guy said he would too as he had his daughter with him to see Harry Potter . I did receive an e mail at 10am to say the film had been cancelled. Bit too late . I think there was a staff problem more like 😡

Use earplugs, the movie is too loud

I like the cinema, but the movie was too loud. Luckily, my child plays the drums and I had earplugs with me, which I used throughout the movie and didn’t miss any of it. But without I felt like my ears where going to bleed. I wonder why there aren’t any other complaints about it. There should be a law about how loud a movie can be.

No movie love here.

Website is shockingly bad- layout is sluggish, Paypal payment does not work and just errors.
The cinema itself - building and staff does not convey a love of movies. Which is sad. First one I went to had posters up, had a small shop selling movie memorabilia. Smelled of popcorn . Queues at the till points. It felt like a cinema. Now they just look vacant , vast open space at entrance, greed by owners has taken over as popcorn and sweets cost ridiculous amounts.
Screens - have they ever been cleaned? Audio system- boosting the volume to deafen the visitors is their idea of a movie experience- audio is way too loud.
Needs a rejuvenation by people that love film.
