Used to book a service at company called eco tyres. Booked morning slot and car still hadn't even moved by 4pm. Took car away with nothing done. Clearly put their own bookings ahead of book my car so I wasted a days holiday from work by using to book this company.
I had a coolant problem with my trade van. I had the RAC looking at it and, as KerrTech Automotive ltd in Rutherglen was an RAC approved garage, I decided to book it.
1) I asked them to flush the cooling system: just remove coolant and then refill it. Something that is done for about £60,00.
They held the van for three long days and, when they were done, they said they found two loose pipes and secured them with jubilee clips!!!
As far as I know today they use spring-band-clamps to secure aircon tubes etc, especially on the Vauxhall Vivaro.
When I collected the van I was charged £300,00 for the flush!!!! Everyone is shocked by this one!!! Nobody ever heard of such a fee for a coolant flush.
I drove from the garage and in about 4 miles from the garage my engine started to smoke like it never did before. The engine overheated and I had to stop. I called them and they actually invited me back to the garage. I thanked them and very slowly took the vehicle to my house. No doubt, they did not just flush the engine.
I will put a film online that will show the steam from the engine on that date and approximate time.
After my complaint was rejected by an email from the garage and I did not receive a response from their registered address:
