Being clear about cancellation and payment terms re individual retreats
Good and the website and bkg coy were helpful.
Wasn’t initially clear that the bkg coy received deposit as payment then the rest managed by the retreat hence the generic statement re.cancellation policy meant I needed to clarify with the retreat. Ie it’s a 2 step process which is a bit awkward
Once the retreat clarified I could make a decision
Maybe bkg coy could keep individual retreat policies online so it was clearer

The agents (I've dealt with quite a few) of Bookretreats are friendly and eager to assist. Despite some small hiccups, during a second booking experience partly my fault, they have overall been very accommodating, kind, understanding and helpful. Please note if you, as the customer have questions and receive assistance during a chat, please take note : get all the information you need first time round. You will speak to a different agent and will start from scratch, every time you make contact. They have no idea what transpired with previous chats or enquiries.
Overall I still feel it will be unkind to give them less than 4 stars.

Excellent experience
An excellent Kung Fu retreat in Corfu. Thomas is a thoughtful, considerate teacher who takes a lot of time to explain, correct, and share not only the practice itself but also its history and background. Everything was very well organised and clearly communicated, the food was excellent, and Thomas and his family were incredibly warm and welcoming. A high-value and genuinely special experience.

athe site is great but 2 najor things were incorrect with the booking process:
1. I looked at a retreat in Wonderland Koh Pangan ( and I think it happened with another one , im not sure). The price that was shown was half the price that i was asked ro pay
2.For the retreat I registered- I tried to pay through
your site but I couldnt. There is a technical problem there. I needed to contact the place and ask them to send me a link for the payment

We looked into the technical problem you mentioned, and the retreat you booked was set up by your host as a "request to book first" type listing. That's why you needed to coordinate directly with them before you could go ahead and make your booking on our site.
We'd also like to get to the bottom of the pricing issue you mentioned. We sent a couple of follow-up emails after your review to ask for a few more details, but haven't connected yet. Whenever it's convenient for you, we're ready to pick this up.

taking deposit first and advising to wait for the confirmation from the host, while people already booked flights .... what if host will advise no availability for the dates? People book leaves and flights to adjust, if you have to confirm with the host first, why taking the deposit then?

First of all, we are so glad everything worked out wonderfully for your trip! Since you reached out to your host beforehand, your dates were completely secure from the start.
The automated message you saw is just a safety net we send to everyone. We collect the deposit right away to lock in your spot with the host.
However, because unexpected scheduling overlaps can happen in real time, we always advise in black and white to hold off on buying flights until that final green light is given.
Our biggest priority is making sure no one loses money on non-refundable transportation! If an unexpected conflict ever does happen and a host can't accept the booking, we refund that deposit immediately.
We’re so sorry if this standard reminder caused any extra anxiety before your trip. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us keep improving for the whole community. Wishing you wonderful and safe travels ahead!
